He was not a handyman. He was a homeless man they invited to help to rake leaves.

excerpt: The Smart family publicly harbors no ill will toward police for not focusing more intensely and earlier on Brian David Mitchell, the homeless drifter and former Smart handyman who calls himself Emmanuel and is now in custody for allegedly kidnapping Elizabeth. But there may have been missed opportunities to previously rescue the 15-year-old girl.

They also said on Fox.....why would someone try to go through a window when the front door was unlocked.

I love FoxNews, but come on . . . why listen to those THs when you have us!

Maybe it was not checked prior to going through the window -- think as if you are a burglar (grabbing easily accessible cell phones for $$$). I have broken into many of my apts (misplaced keys) & even my "secure" house (knew the alarm code, so I was in the clear). I started hiding an extra key so my neighbors did not think I was wacked.

I am trying to keep the parents as the victims, giving them the benefit of the doubt & hoping they are NOT the 80% parents with missing children. Until LE determines they have evidence against them, I am refraining from commenting on anything about them EXCEPT they are hurting & need help! Don't forget the little boys & the minor neighbor are being exposed.

There is a huge market for babies fitting Lisa's type. My gf just adopted a white boy in only 2 months (she anticipated it would take at least 9 months).

I see all these comparisons to ES. The big difference is Lisa is a 10 month old baby. Unless this handyman is some perverted disgusting 🤬🤬🤬, what in the world would he do with a 10 month old baby girl? It's not like she could be his "wife" as in the ES case.

I'm struggling with motive on whoever took her. She's a baby!!

A local handyman.....just a generic handyman or did he do work for the parents?

The comment about a neighbor hearing and reporting screams was one comment on one article very early in the case (perhaps the first day). To the best of my knowledge it was never reported on by MSM nor was it ever verified. The comment was even wrote second or third hand. I remember reading it after it was reported back here but I never gave much thought to it because it ended there with the reporter (?) asking the writer to have his/her friend contact them.

You are correct. It was on that livewire site that does the live blogging.

I never added that to my timeline because I couldn't ever find a news article on it, just that one comment by someone.

After looking at the photo in question, I believe too that it belongs to the FBI.

It may be the FBI laptop for sure. My take was that FBI would be using other smaller tech gadgets to record what was being taken instead of the regular laptop. This looks like a regular size laptop and not even a smaller, easier to handle netbook.

We need a list of items that have been taken as evidence from the Irwin home....lol

Just getting here today...can anyone who has been here and knows info about a handyman please send me a link? Unless it is just a rumor...I'm curious about this...

It is entirely possible that the parents were told by a neighbor that this handyman was gone from the very beginning when Lisa went missing. They then went to the police at the site and wanted that checked out ASAP thus the 'dust up' that occurred. I'm waiting to see who this handyman is and where he is.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize she did actually deny it.

I've always considered Richard Ricci "the handyman" but he was falsely accused.

Elizabeth Smart case has naught to do with this case, handyman or whatever; a handyman may not have anything to do with this one, but that's the handyman we should devote our attention to.

http://www.nbcactionnews.com/dpp/ne...n-carrying-baby-wearing-only-a-diaper_NWe-tAb

Thanks wfgodot for the info and the link.. Now why in the he!! Would LE neither confirm or deny that they were even following this acct as a lead.. Why not say of course we're following any and all leads.. But nope they don't.. Instead they repeatedly state, THEY HAVE NO LEADS!".. I don't get it!

This is someone not related to these parents who is stating they eye witnessed seeing a male at midnight, on the very night in question, during the time in question.. This IMO lends much credence to the mother's story IMO.. WTH?

Unless the description of the man carrying the baby matched the father.

Without reading back through, what's the word on the handyman? Heard that on the Today show. Also researched old CSI, Criminal Minds, etc. episodes late last night. Don't really know what I was looking for...maybe something that made sense. :0(

Good morning everyone!

I'm sorry some of the links in my timeline are now broken. I don't understand why news sites only leave videos/stories up for a certain amount of time...I guess it's limited space.

I'll be putting up an updated timeline in about 10 minutes.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize she did actually deny it.

The thread flies pretty fast, not hard to miss something. Don't let it deter you. Keep posting :)

Elizabeth Smart WAS NOT kidnapped by a handyman.

Smart's mother testified that she and her children ran into Mitchell downtown and that she offered him a job doing handyman work at the family's home. One of her sons encouraged her to give him money, she said.

"He looked like a clean-cut, well-kept man that was down on his luck," she said. "I gave him $5."

Later, the family hired Mitchell to help fix a leaky roof, Lois Smart said. It was the only job he did for the family.

All we know is that handyman supposedly hasn't been seen.
I don't think we know anything else as of now.

Was this a neighbor who was a handyman in his profession? I can't imagine that they'd have their own personal handyman since JI is an electrician himself and this doesn't look like a HOA community.

Elizabeth Smart WAS NOT kidnapped by a handyman.

Brian David Mitchell was a preacher but had worked as a handyman for the Smart family according to this link.

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Smart_kidnapping"]Elizabeth Smart kidnapping - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

I had no idea til I read this how many similarities there are between baby Lisa's and Elizabeth's cases.
