my two cents after watching a lot cases: the grand jury and prosecutor do not hear evidence just based on video news crews have shot...

more to this..

However it appears whatever news footage the media has will assist in indicting the POI(s).

Okay, I go and make and serve dinner to family, and come back to Grand Jury? Without a person of interest? When was the last time something like this happened? They must have a person in mind, but to me this makes zero sense right now???

Well, since this is quite plainly a "house of interest" now....what are the so called issues?

Does the brushy state attract unwelcome visitors? (for lack of all encompassing words - hobos or loadies, etc)

There was a reported assault in the 3600 block not long before the abduction. Any connection to that?

Is this normal procedure before arresting anyone? I thought evidence was brought to a grand jury before going to trial so LE know what charges would be filed? I've never heard of it being done before anyone is arrested.

They did that whole GJ routine in Kyron's case more than a year ago...so far, it has come to nothing. Each state has their own laws.

Exactly. It's going down. This is what all the LE activity at the house has been for.

God bless baby Lisa.

Who is this so-called "body language expert" on HLN that's being discussed right now?

Does this person have a name?

Sure! Was in my first post. Tough to transcribe in every post sometimes!

Janine Driver is the founder and president of the Body Language Institute, located in Alexandria, Virginia. For over a decade while at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Janine trained thousands of law enforcement officers to decipher fact from fiction using the body language interpretation methods she writes about in YOU SAY MORE THAN YOU THINK.

I do realize where KC is....and no one is really assigning anything. We were discussing why speech analysis could be inaccurate. It doesn't take into consideration the regular personal speech patterns and habits of an individual.

I would say though that some Southern speech patterns are noticed in parts of Missouri and Oklahoma. I did learn that in college.

My grandmother used to say, when she would babysit me, 'that child's about to wear me out!. She has lived in both OK and MO

Trying to catch up, what gives? Are they seeking an indictment against the parents?

I saw a few posts back that all neighbor interviews were requested...don't know if parent interviews were included or not. Going to look now.

I don't know anything about what a grand jury entails. Can someone fill me in? How long does it take to get one together? Is is public so we will know everything that goes on and that is presented? What is the purpose of a grand jury? TIA

So there's something in the news footage that LE is interested in. Okay, WSers, what have we seen on the news? The house? Her room? Outside of home? Anything else that would have 'evidence'? I'm baffled.

Can't a grand jury be used as an investigative tool, as well as to indict?

There are cases in which a Grand Jury hears evidence first. Not always a great sign for the strength of evidence...but none the less...if they are going to a GJ, they (IMO) have a suspect and a theory of the crime. In this case all we have heard in the MSM is about the parents and the neighbor-teen. So is it one of the parents...both of the parents...one of the parents and the teen or just the teen. Who knows...if you do, tell me!

Early Monday evening NBC Action News received a grand jury subpoena in relation to the search for 10-month-old Lisa Irwin search.

The Clay County Prosecutor's Office is asking for specific footage.

The office has requested any raw video of any interviews given by family, friends of family and neighbors regarding the missing girl.

I wondered this exact same thing but then why would they want a DNA sample from the teen? That seems a little much for stolen phones but I really don't know.

Maybe the teen was sneaking a cigarette at the Irwin's? If a cigarette butt was found, they would want to verify via DNA if it was from someone who had been there, or a stranger?
Just a thought

Person of interest is just a term LE uses at times, but it's not a required label before arresting someone. It's something the media likes to jump all over, more than anything. It's not really official.
