to me, it seems as though if someone was kidnapping the baby and had the baby in his/her arms already and there wasn't a stir in the house, there would be no reason to think that a family member would be waking up soon... especially in the middle of the night. so, chances of noticing the baby missing very quickly wouldn't be very high. i would think their main concern would be to get out and away from the home as quickly as possible, not have to deal with the cell phone issue.

i find it hard to believe that a perp would take 10 seconds (or 20, or 30, etc) to mess with a phone that could possibly track him/her just to delay the family 10 seconds (or 20, or 30, etc) in calling the police... especially when he/she didn't know if there was a landline in the house or not. (point being that it wouldn't have really made a difference in timing).

i don't think the cell phones will be anywhere near the home. if they were going to be disposed of, i'm pretty sure that they'd be hard to find, as far away from the home as possible.

..on to watch the newly released video...

I watched the last posted vid again and again. Then watched yesterdays vid. The dad, is alittle too controlled for my liking. Doesn't mean he's done anything but if anything like this happened when our kids were tiny babies, my husband would have been uncontrolable.

imo

I can imagine my husband being like this. Some men are just really not particularly emotional. The ONLY time I've seen my husband really emotional was when his mother passed away.

When my daughter was 5 (just barely turned 5), one morning she snuck out of the house while I was sick and dozed off on the couch. For whatever reason, I jumped off the couch in a panic. Back door was wide open and I couldn't find her. I got my husband up and it took a couple times for me to get him to get up. I was freaking out and trying to find something "decent" to wear. Long story short, a teen girl found her wandering around and took her to the office where we live. She was only gone at most 30 minutes. My husband left the house without a word and went down to the hardware store and got new locks so now you need a key to get out the back door. He wasn't emotional, he didn't cry, he wasn't panicking. Granted, it's different when the child obviously can't get out by themselves and they have been missing for days, but I still think my husband would seem "emotionally flat" if he was under the same scrutiny. Ok let's try this

What could the reason possibly be if either parent wanted to make the baby disappear for a little while?

  • #586
Not to seem rude, but this is the 100th time I've heard people talk about the shorts. My kids wear shorts to bed and always have. Could we PLEASE drop it about this baby's clothing!?!?!?!?

Sorry if someone already did this, I started it and then had to leave...

Okay... I have children who LOVE the color purple and LOVE kittens.
I also have a child who does not sweat and wears shorts to bed in December.
So this is kind of my area.

Many baby/children pajama sets are shorts and a t-shirt.
Many have 3 piece sets which come with a shirt, shorts and leggings.
Not everyone puts their kids in footsie pajamas or nighties.
There are many kitty pajamas that come in a shirt/short combination.

I also don't always have my kids in the shirt and shorts that match.
They might wear that purple shirt with an angel... with plain purple shorts. Instead of the matching purple pants/shorts with the set.
So the shorts Lisa was wearing, may not go "with" the shirt.

My daughter is actually getting these for her birthday. The pattern on the shorts could easily be similar to what Lisa was wearing.

pajamax.jpg

This shirt could easily be similar, lighter purple than the previous one (those are kittens, promise.)

pajamas3.jpg

Marie is a popular white kitty right now and some parent may not realize who it is. Not all have the name on them.

pajamas2.jpg

There are also purple Hello Kitty Pajamas that match the description, also not all have the name on them although most definitely know who Hello Kitty is.
These are just 3 I've seen in person, and two that have multiple kittens on them... there are MANY others. Walmart, Target, Sears, Carter's, Gymboree... etc.

She's a little too calm and even-toned for me.

While I am still on the fence about the parents....I can see calling for the baby hoping she'd make noise or start to cry. That would be a very normal reaction. I can also see running around in a panic looking for a phone if the cell phones were not where the Mom had left them. Maybe seeing that the phones were gone made them realize someone had been in the house, and that Lisa was in real danger and it upped the panic level even higher.
People seem to think they know how they would react in certain situations, but no one really knows until it something actually happens.

I don't know if Lisa's parents are guilty of her disappearance or not. I just can't see any clear-cut signs yet.

I have to agree, EllaMae. I also think people aren't taking into consideration the emotional toll these parents are under. I know that as followers of true crime, we've seen some horrible things done to kids by those that are supposed to love them, but we can't lose sight of the fact that it's not always the parents. That sometimes awful things are done by depraved others.

Sorry to butt in but what does the door have to do with anything if she said that the baby was taken out of the bedroom window? Is she now suggesting that the intruder came in through the door and left via the window. The whole story, so far, is ABSURD.

LE doesn't believe the window was point of entry since the door was unlocked.

This might be a case of extreme jealousy on mom's part. Dad pays too much attention to the new girl in the house. Dad cares about work more than he cares about mom. Mom has had depression problems and decided to get rid of the "problem". Finally, mom will get some attention. JMO

OK, you go to your room and do not leave it for the next hour. And no movies for a WEEK!

.... Ya know, I'm trying to laugh a bit here...because mostly this case is causing the opposite for me. Some of the scenarios people have been painting, logical as they may be, are almost too tragic to even comprehend. Such a strange case. I wish they would find her, but I have little hope at this point. So very sad.

... Coach K is a wuss.

Just a gut reaction, nothing more, from a few videos I've seen...dad defers to mom. Mom has upper hand in relationship.

**Possibly seen by Mr. Parscale (a man that lives in the area) according to his wife Lisa around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday wearing only a diaper being carried by a male. Quote from Lisa--“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

**Parscale says her husband saw the man walking on a street perpendicular to North Lister, where Lisa Irwin lives with her parents and brothers.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 3:30 a.m. (first report stated it was 4:00 a.m.) Father returns home from work and discovered baby missing from crib.

Next news conference sometime this afternoon.

2:00 news conference—Jeremy spoke with Deborah (Bradley?) by his side. Begged for baby to be dropped off somewhere safe. The brothers are waiting to see their sister. Declined to take questions.

Again, Capt. Has no leads, not ruling out anything. 300 knocks and searches. 46 tips. No ransom note. Family is free to go where they would like. Family does not want to be at house.

**Alleged sighting of Lisa with a middle aged white male and female at a Love’s gas station in St. Joseph, MO I-29 and US HWY 169. Driving older model SUV. Article came out around 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video has been turned over to LE. Police say it doesn’t seem to be a major lead.

I got a say-IF they know what happened and they went on ALL shows day after day it will be very hard for people to believe a parent who is REALLY innocent..I really hope they are not playing us!!!

  • #597
If someone deletes text messages from their phone, can those messages still be retrieved from the phone itself?

In addition to time, sender and recipient of a text, can the service provider pull the actual text message content without the phone?

TIA for anyone who knows!

Yes, some service providers even have your phone pictures.
