Maybe so.
Did they also know there was no landline?
And also in the beginning, mom made some statement that the reason for the delay in calling was because the phones were taken. If there was a work phone available, there should have been no delay.
I haven't been able to find a link to where she stated about the delay, but I also read HinkyMeter earlier today and they mention the delay in their reports too, so I know it was said.
I've heard it both ways. Still not sure which is right. Or it could be that it is different with different phones.
I do know that they cannot track all cell phones. Some have GPS and some don't.
Ok I thought I recently saw a program that the phones will still track if off. That only removing the battery will stop the tracking device. Did I fall asleep and miss something vital in this program? LMAO Cuz it is possible.
What is the consensus tech gurus? Could LE be getting signals from these phones and that is why they are searching certain areas?
RANCH, I can't remember at the moment which one-- but during one case I followed that very thing was done........a cut off cell phone was traced. I'm sure I'll remember later. lol
imo
I'm not a tech guru, but I think I would have heard of that one. Just owning a phone can get yourself tracked by the government? Now that's scary.
Several variables there, G'ma. Depends on the device and the provider services.Ok I thought I recently saw a program that the phones will still track if off. To comply with FCC requirements, cell phone carriers decided to integrate GPS technology into cell phone handsets, rather than overhaul the tower network. However the GPS in most cell phones are not like those in your handy GPS receiver that you take hiking. Most cell phones do not allow the user direct access to the GPS data, accurate location determination requires the assistance of the wireless network, and the GPS data is transmitted only if a 911 emergency call is made. So, in general, you can not track someone using their cell phone, unless the person you want to track has the right kind of cell phone, connected to the right network, with the right service.
I agree. I also think if one of the parents had acted alone, the other wouldn't be all that willing to present such a unified front.

You are correct. Cell phones (unless you get a phone that is over 3 years old) have GPS tracking systems in them. You don't have to have the phone turned on, or be on a call for it to work. You would, however, have to take the battery out if you want to avoid this. But how many people do that.
The only person I can think of that couldn't be tracked was Shawn Adkins. There was no cell phone pings/activity for several hours the day Hailey Dunn went missing. I figured he took his battery out during that time.

I would think, aside from just plastering flyers everywhere, there should be some effort checking daycares, hospitals, shelters, etc.
Do you know that if you have cable tv, the cable company (and I'm guessing the gvt) can listen to conversations in your home without your consent and without you knowing. Not a joke.
imo
Well I'm going to have to do some checking on this. Way to much big brother for me.

I work in a local ER and the EMS system did notify all local hospitals.
They would be very bored.
Your jerking my chain.
Maybe. Some parents, if one parent does harm the other will report it. But I have seen cases where one parent did something and the other helped to cover it up.
There is also the possibility that JI didn't know. He was at work and supposedly that was verified. If something happened while he was at work, he may not have been told.
