Maybe. Some parents, if one parent does harm the other will report it. But I have seen cases where one parent did something and the other helped to cover it up.

There is also the possibility that JI didn't know. He was at work and supposedly that was verified. If something happened while he was at work, he may not have been told.

I haven't heard that LE has cleared the husband. He may have been at work but that doesn't mean he wasn't involved in Lisa's disappearance which, for all we know, could have happened prior to his leaving for work.

What delay in calling? Dad arrived home at 4 am and called 911 at 4.04 am. That's not a delay, if anything its a suspiciously short time.

That's what I'm asking. The mother DID mention something about a delay in the very beginning. I remember it completely, because I remembered thinking at the time, "what delay?" as well. Go read the HinkyMeter post.

G'nite everyone! I will pray for Lisa and her family tonight. I hope today is the day she is brought home.

Just a thought, even if JI "checked out", why would him being at work totally clear him? Couldn't someone, if they are at work, have made up a plan beforehand so that work was their alibi OR had someone else do something while they were at work? I don't understand why that would automatically leave him out as a suspect, not that I think he is, just wondering.

I think they know what happened, about when it happened and who was involved. I think they are just working to get the proof and to find Lisa now.

A lot of people seem to think LE is picking on Mom. And truthfully they could be. But I don't think so. They wouldn't be leaking info against her if they thought it was someone else.

I've heard it said that they don't have any proof against her. But we don't know what they have, we only know what has leaked or what the parents have said. And what comes from LE is very carefully considered. They don't tell everything that has been told to them, they don't tell everything they find. And they don't make an arrest until they think they have enough evidence to get a conviction. Even when they "know" what happened.

Thanks. I imagine its part of an Amber Alert?

Yes. It came out originally as the Amber Alert but there continues to be a notice on the system. I know I was really eyeballing every young child that came in over the last few shifts I worked.

All I heard her say was that she thought the cell phones had been taken to delay them calling police. I never heard her say that the ploy actually worked and there was a delay.

I'm tired though, I could be remembering wrong.

The tracking when a phone is on makes sense to me. Its how they work. The tracking when a phone is off makes little sense. Most people have their phones on most of the time. To build some kind of secret tracking of phones that are powered down makes little sense. But I may be wrong.

It is hard to understand all the why's in all this technology for me... but I have seen alot of good things come from it. Stands to reason there would be just as many negatives!! I do know that I learned that the batteries have some of their power allocated just for this purpose. The battery powers down when it reaches this point and the reserve power is strictly for this purpose. I also was told that this partition will also power a 911 call.... but only the 911. So if your phone is "dead" and you need 911 - go for it, I am told it will work.

I am not as suspicious as others I guess. (Odd...) :waitasec:

I don't think this was a stranger if Lisa was abducted. So things that a "stranger wouldn't do/wouldn't know" don't seem as odd to me.
Elizabeth, Polly, Jessica and Ramy... all odd cases but all true abductions from the home.

Did Jeremy have any friends who were electricians who had been over to the house?
They would notice if there was a land line if they had thought about breaking in.
I told my mother today our electrician would be at the top of my suspect list. Even though he's my uncle and I trust him... because he has the knowledge to commit the crime. Motive? No. But he knows the house.

Did they have cable TV/internet/anything like that put in? Where the person who did that might have known they did not have a land line?

Let's just pretend for a minute that an abductor really DID take the cell phones.
Who knew they DID NOT have a land line?
Who had the KNOWLEDGE to commit this crime, other than the family?

This explains it well. But this is not what the TV program I saw said. So who knows.

I know this, our company cars are GPS monitored. If you put your purse on the seat and drive with it there, we get a report that the passenger was on these dates not wearing a seat belt. Lord have mercy. Buckle up the purse!

I am still going to hope that the mother is not involved. I certainly hope it gets solved. :waitasec:

Thank you Billie Dunn... for preventing me from saying "I believe this woman. I don't think she is lying, I think she is sincere."
Because of you... I refuse to say those words ever again.

I never thought I would say this... but Websleuths (and :nono: and of course :saber:) have assisted me with self control.
Even though I am going like this :pullhair: and :banghead: and :rage: and :furious:

Even though I am wanting to  and :deadhorse: and then :slapfight: and really :bigfight:

Instead I am talking like this  and being all :innocent: and then just

I am such a well trained MsFacetious. :seeya:

I should have said welcome aboard first. My apologies. Anyway, its good to have your input.

OK on this google I found a site. I'm afraid to put my number in though.

Free tracking.

I think that LE may well know where the missing cell phones are. MOO

I tried it. It's a scam. You put in the number and it says "You want to know how to track someone for real?" Trying to sell something.

The GPS tracking is an enhancement for 911. A few years ago, a young couple became lost in a rural area in a Nebraska blizzard. The boyfriend was driving and was high on drugs. He called 911 for help but was unable to assist LE in finding them and the county didn't have the enhanced 911 capability. His conversations with the 911 operator were released to the public and are heart-wrenching. It was a tragedy that hopefully won't happen again.

How did the parents know why the alleged kidnapper took the phones?
