(Grew up wandering around the inventory room of our cell phone business here... lol)

Also if you plug in the active phone, put the inactive phone in the glove box.
Make sure you keep your numbers up to date even in that old phone... your *ICE (in case of emergency, with the * before the ICE so it shows up first in your contact list, before the A's.)

That way if your active phone IS lost in the accident... and you have that inactive phone in the glove box or attached to the charger... EMT's still have those numbers.

So many people do not realize that you don't have to have an active cell phone plan to call 911. That's why kids playing with inactive phones are able to call 911. :seeya:

It actually even occurred to me that someone might have grabbed those phones as a toy for Lisa to play with. Remove the batteries.
Long drive ahead? But then I thought that'd probably be stupid... surely they would have been more prepared if they didn't take any supplies?
Did they take any? Diapers, clothes, toys? Anything? Did anyone ever check?

Good morning. Let me offer a cell phone tip that saved my sisters' friend's life. Her daughter suggested she not get rid of her old cell phone but instead get a car phone charger for the phone and keep it in the car. Never unplug it from the charger.

Each time she goes anywhere she connects the old phone to the cigarette lighter. She unplugs it when she gets out of the car but leaves it on her seat so she'll remember to plug it in. Her active phone was usually on her lap, on the console, or in her purse. Like most of us.

One night while on a trip she lost control of her car on bad roads. Went down an embankment and was trapped in the car. She couldn't move and no one saw her. She had serious injuries. Had no idea where her phone was but she was able to reach the phone cord and call 911. It saved her life.

I now do the same thing. Even if the phone is thrown to the floor you can almost always reach the cord if its plugged in.

It only takes one time of not being able to reach it. I just leave my old one plugged in all the time. Either way works if you remember to plug it in.............lol I don't so I just don't unplug it.

Great tip!

Please be sure to unplug when you get out of the car though or this could be the result:

Been away overnight, totally lost on the latest info about Lisa, but gutted that she's still missing :(

  • #885
Trying to catch up here as well... Didn't sleep well thinking of this poor baby out there somewhere. :(

Exactly and that is what this program was all about. That phone companies could track where you went and not tell you they were doing it. And it also talked about taking pictures on your phone. That there is a capability in the picture code that people can tell exactly where the pic was taken. There is some software out there now. This show was scary. And they were saying there is a way to turn this off but few people even know about this tracking let alone how to turn it off.

grandma, I just saw a show last week where they used that software with the pictures. A woman who faked her own kidnapping. All kinds of problems tracking phones, but when a picture got sent they knew exactly where it was taken. That's scary wild.

Meanwhile, wo knows where people keep their cells? The kids all sleep with them and use it as their alarm. Me? I have no clue where mine is and I can't call myself because it's not charged.

Having trouble finding the wonderful timeline that has been such a staple of Lisa's threads. Anyone able to give me a recap of anything that happened overnight, if anything? Last news I remember were the few posts on FB from Deborahs father, clarifying the phone issue, and the officialrreports of the landfill search and the possibly related dumpster fire.

Thank you and good morning to all. :)

I'm off to rest a bit. I'll check in later. Here's the timeline again.

Thanks again to BeanE for compiling tweets and to Hazel for the video!

I hope I wake up to great news about sweet Lisa!

Lisa Irwin Timeline

Monday October 3, 2011

Abducted by intruder through bedroom window. Far right window of house.

UPDATE—according to police spokesman window may not be correct.

CORRECTION TO ABOVE GIVEN BY JEREMY IN PHONE INTERVIEW 10-6-2011

Lisa in bed at 7:30 p.m. Debbie in bed at 10:30 after checking on Lisa. 5 year old son slept with Debbie in parents room. Point of entry by abductor was unlocked front door, window mentioned earlier was NOT tampered with.

UPDATE 10-6-11 3 cell phones also taken. One does not even work. Also, dad came home to find front door unlocked, most of the lights on and front window open.

Jeremy Irwin, Lisa’s father, told local media that whoever took his daughter also took all three of their cell phones so they couldn’t call anybody, including 911.

~phones were gone

~she did not notice if anything else was taken.. all she cares about is that the baby was gone.

~she grabbed the boys and went out into the yard and flagged down LE when they pulled into the yard

~she said nothing else appeared to be missing but she does not know

(thank you NBM)

Other two sons asleep in different bedrooms. (sons are half brothers to Lisa-the 6 year old is Debbie’s and the 8 year old is Jeremy’s from previous relationships.)—Correction. One son—the 6 year old was asleep with the mom and a stray kitten he had found earlier in the day.

Father is electrician that works nights. This night was the first night he EVER worked at night.—Jeremy http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/miss...olice-14688735

Mother is a SAHM--Debbie

Monday October 3, 2011 10:00 p.m. Last seen in crib wearing purple shorts and purple shirt with white kittens on it.

**Possibly seen by Mr. Parscale (a man that lives in the area) according to his wife Lisa around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday wearing only a diaper being carried by a male. Quote from Lisa--“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

**Parscale says her husband saw the man walking on a street perpendicular to North Lister, where Lisa Irwin lives with her parents and brothers.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 3:30 a.m. (first report stated it was 4:00 a.m.) Father returns home from work and discovered baby missing from crib.

UPDATE at 2:00 p.m. October 4 presser Capt. Steve Young speaking—Parents’ story has no holes. Looking into neighbor that possibly saw Lisa being carried by the male. No suspects other than neighbor sighting.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 approx. 7:00 p.m. amber alert cancelled. Lisa is considered a MISSING/ENDANGERED JUVENILE. Per police the alert has served it’s purpose. Police and dogs will search for a while into the night.

*** Tuesday night authorities searched a van and car at the home. There is no word on what police found or were looking for. Officers searching for the child focused on areas near the family's home such as railroad tracks near the north side of the Missouri River and a wooded area behind the home. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-aut...rch-for-missing-baby-20111005,0,6273053.story

Tuesday 9:25 p.m.

Mass exodus of police from the command center. Looks like K-9's are finished searching for the night. Police search will continue in AM
by cliffjudy via twitter 9:25 P

**family stayed with relatives after being questioned until 10:30 p.m.

Wednesday October 5, 2011

9:00 a.m. press conference Capt. Steve Young speaking—basically no new information. Still searching with dogs, however there have been no hits. Parents not ruled out, but also not suspects. Very cooperative.

Next news conference sometime this afternoon.

2:00 news conference—Jeremy spoke with Deborah (Bradley?) by his side. Begged for baby to be dropped off somewhere safe. The brothers are waiting to see their sister. Declined to take questions.

Again, Capt. Has no leads, not ruling out anything. 300 knocks and searches. 46 tips. No ransom note. Family is free to go where they would like. Family does not want to be at house.

**Alleged sighting of Lisa with a middle aged white male and female at a Love’s gas station in St. Joseph, MO I-29 and US HWY 169. Driving older model SUV. Article came out around 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video has been turned over to LE. Police say it doesn’t seem to be a major lead.

Thursday October 6, 2011

**Jeremy and Debbie provided LE with a list of 9 names of people that could be possible suspects.

**Per Debbie regarding cell phones and possible other missing items:

~one of the cell phones did not work.. all three were on the counter and she was in the midst of reprogramming them/putting numbers into them

~phones were gone

~she did not notice if anything else was taken.. all she cares about is that the baby was gone.

~she grabbed the boys and went out into the yard and flagged down LE when they pulled into the yard

** police detectives are meeting early this morning to talk about where to search next.

**per Debbie, “Lisa is very sweet and will go to almost anybody.”

**per Jeremy, window was not tampered with, so perp (s) must have come in through unlocked front door.

**Lisa went to bed at 7:30 p.m. Debbie went to bed at 10:30 after checking on Lisa. 5 year old son slept with Debbie in parents room.

***Debbie and Jeremy have a heated discussion with LE before speeding off in police car to command center to find out about possible new lead. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-lis...scussion-with-police-20111006,0,5671503.story

**the list of suspects provided by the parents is now up to 12.

Thanks Shelby1

Thanks so much JeannieC for bringing that forward, and to Shelby for all her hard work!

I'm still not suspicious of mom and dad. I started out this case very impressed with how LE were handling things, but as events have unfolded the last few days, I've become less impressed. I think they were using typical interrogation techniques of trying to turn this couple against each other, telling mom she failed poly, all to try to get a confession, and it backfired on them. What's worse is that I think they were trying this because they have absolutely NOTHING else to go on at all, which is so frightening for little Lisa. :(

I wish peace calm for both the parents and LE, all of whom are human, and stressed, and emotionally involved. May cooler heads prevail, and progress be made in finding little Lisa today, please!

I think I'm going to have to divorce myself from this case. I don't get it how so many can believe the mother when all she is doing in the press is talking about herself. I heard on Sirus radio a preview of her interview tonight on JP show and the question ask was something like what is this like. She goes on to talk about herself.

I must have entered the twilght zone. I was fooled for 3 days, maybe it is just because we've had so many bad outcomes that we are willing ourselves to hold onto the world is not all bad with mom's and or dads throwing their children out or something. I'm not putting any poster down. Really I am not, I'm trying to understand and a big part of me really does but then when I read and read all the excuses (lack of better word) I'm just floored.

Wake me up when they find Baby Lisa.

I really am not picking on anyone. Please do not take it as I am because I'm so not.

I think travel stop didn't pan out. Cali tip I haven't seen anything else about. I'm making my way through the overnight news updates, if I see anything I'll post it.

I just looked at the overnight news and there were only two dozen people at the vigil. People have a way of voting with their feet. If mom doesn't firmly deny that there was a 2:30 am phone call when they have disputed every other picayune detail then I think support for them is going to go downhill quickly.

I don't know what to think in this case. There is so little released by LE. One thing I've noticed and perhaps others have as well. This morning, I went through some of the videos with the parents and I noticed a "distance" between them. I won't speculate on what that may mean because I'm not a body language expert but it's definitely noticeable.

As in this photo for example:
