The Pemiscot County Emergency Services page is run by the local government and can be linked here: Pemiscot County Emergency Services

Unfortunately, there isn't any new info re: mental illness on their post besides that she was hallucinating.
Also noting:
  • The last contact with Michele, she was seen in her vehicle Southbound on I-55 in Pemiscot County, Missouri.
  • Michele's vehicle was later found at Exit 34 near Joiner and a search was done in the area.

Thank you for this map. I have added Hayti MO which I believe is misspelled in the article below. The location is not the exact overpass - just the town of Hayti. MOO

Missing Caruthersville woman's vehicle found in Arkansas
The 36-year-old woman was last seen Monday night from an overpass north of Haiti, Missouri, where she was reported to have been traveling south on Interstate 55, according to Caruthersville Police Department assistant chief of police Jerry Hudgens.

The assistant chief of police said officers answered a call to her residence in Caruthersville on Sunday night.

Later, the woman was seen in Pemiscot County north of Haiti on Monday where she reportedly walked away from her car saying she saw something in her vehicle, according to Hudgens. Bell then returned to her vehicle and continued driving.

This sounds like psychosis and her car being out of gas with a dead battery sounds like she left it running. I wonder if the door was open, if anything was left inside? They'll have to search all those fields between the car and ditch no 8. O/T pretty cool crop circle right there. I doubt that was her destination unless she has a known fascination with alien conspiracies.

Hi, welcome to Websleuths. Take a look around, there is plenty of cases here.

We are unique here in that we have to link our sources to support any information we give here. That avoids rumor, false information, etc.

We also have a place for people who have intimate knowledge of a person or case here. These are what are known as our “insiders.”

Our insiders have to prove who they say they are and get verified by the staff here, that way what they say doesn’t need a link.

Here is how you can become a Verified Insider.

It’s really odd how a lot of things are contradictory to me, personally. From the news report (ex. Wrong age, maybe just generalized?) to what other users are saying about Bell.
I agree...it’s incredibly odd. I understand how things can get twisted in the rumor mill, but I don’t understand how they misreported her age and the time she disappeared, etc. it’s bizarre. I would love to know who they talked to.

Believe me, it happens all the time. The media gets things wrong, we see conflicting reports from one news organization to another, and sometimes it's corrected or clarified - other times it's not. It's frustrating.

Yesterday, an article was published in another case asking for search volunteers to meet at an incorrect address. Also yesterday, I started following a case with conflicting accounts of the date the woman went missing. Anyone here who followed the Mollie Tibbett's case will remember the red shirt fiasco.

I've found that it's best to read from a variety of sources and there are some that I won't read at all. MOO

It could have also been dead if she ran out of gas and left the key switch on in the ignition. It’s hard to say since they haven’t released any information about the condition in which they found the vehicle.

This is extremely concerning, it's sounds just like schizophrenia and women get it later than men. I'm very worried for this woman and hope she is found soon

Around here we learn that MSM is always in a big hurry to break the story first so usually there is at least one detail that is different from report to report. And around here, it plays havoc with the sticklers for absolute perfection. I’ve seen pages and pages of debate over the tiniest detail. Lol But in the big scheme of things, it usually gets forgotten as we move along. It’s only difficult in the very beginning.

It sounds to be also that this could be the onset of schizophrenia. Going from not having any issues at all, to something this extreme, pretty much is the writing on the wall. I just pray she is okay and gets the help she needs.

Search party for missing Caruthersville woman set for Saturday
  • MB'S family members are organizing a search party this Saturday.
  • The search party will meet 10 a.m. Saturday at the I-55 southbound exit 35 to Joiner, AR, where MB’s car was found and she was last seen.
  • MB's, RC, said he and his wife were the ones to locate the vehicle Mon night and notify Arkansas authorities.
  • “Mississippi County [Sheriff’s Department in Arkansas] came out that night and met us at the car, and I called some family members ... which I was kind of hesitant on, because I was hoping they’d bring a [K-9 unit] down there or something,” said Chandler, who lives in Kennett, Missouri. “It was dark, raining, and cold with the wind blowing where it was just hard to do anything.”
  • TC and his wife have continued to search the area every day since with help from other family members.
  • He estimated they have covered about a 5-mile radius and described the area as “barren” with nothing nearby other than fields and a few farmhouses.
  • TC said MB is not a nature person or survivalist-type (paraphrasing).
  • The missing person advisory said MB is “suffering from mental illness and has been hallucinating,” which TC said was unprecedented for his niece.
  • “She’s never had any incidents of mental illness or schizophrenia,” he said. “She’s never had any kind of drug problem or been in any kind of trouble ... but something happened to her, and we just don’t know what it could have been. That’s what makes it so hard.”
  • The MP case is being investigated by the Caruthersville PD, but the search near where Bell’s vehicle was found is led by the Mississippi Co. Sheriff’s Dept in AR.
  • TC said all are welcome to assist in the search, and he will post photos to Facebook of the locations he and his wife have already searched.
Note: In a previous article, the car was reportedly found at exit 34.

This is in the same category as Erin Valenti, for me.

It sounds like a break with reality (psychosis) but in the ER, it's really hard for even good psychiatrists to be able to tell the difference between drug-induced, manic and schizophrenic types. At least not instantly. First step is always a drug panel to see what's up on that front.

  • It has been one week since 36-year-old MB disappeared and her family is now offering a reward for information leading to her location.
  • About 45 people participated in yesterday's search including personnel from the Caruthersville PD and Pemiscot Co Sheriff’s Dept.
  • MB’s uncle, RC, said they covered about 15 miles of I-55 from Bassett, AR, to Turrell, AR, and adjoining streets and roads, near where her car was found.
  • The family is planning another search soon, but have been waiting to hear which areas the Mississippi Co Sheriff’s Dept in AR has already searched.

I agree. It’s hard to tell the difference. It’s possible she’s had some minor breaks with reality and was receiving treatment. Then something major triggered her into a more sever break (psychosis). It could also be brought on by drugs but there doesn’t seem to be a history of such
