This is like an ID channel show, where you have to wait until the final 5 minutes to find out what really happened. Though I'm not sure if the RR angle is enough to carry it up to that point. I feel like whatever the truth is, it isn't something that is nice and neat and able to be tied up with a pretty bow.
I'd like to interpret the judge's comments as meaning, assuming this RR story is true, your actions warrant more severe charges against you than 2nd degree manslaughter. I don't see how a police officer, with a military background, could be found not guilty when he's already admitted to taking every step necessary to kill someone. I'm guessing if he's all but willing to give up that, then if there is another truth to this story, it must be far worse, and show much more than "negligence."
