Police reported that they were contacted June 19 by Penny Warfel’s sister in Columbus, Ohio, to report her sister missing. Penny Warfel was last seen Sept. 15, 2017.
Lawrence Warfel, 75, was the last person in her family to see her. When police asked Warfel about his missing wife, he told them she had moved to Florida with a male friend after the married couple got into an argument. Before she left, she had asked him to withdraw her Social Security to pay her medical bills. However, when investigators checked with Moberly Regional Medical Center, they found no payments had been made to her account.
