This is CRAZY! People can't get at their meds that they need!!! What if a small child is in need of medication?? This is sick sick sick. And look how proud they are of themselves.

I heard an interesting fact that bears repeating here, imoo, of course.

"Homicide is far and away the leading cause of death for young black men, more than car accidents, suicide and diseases combined, according to an article co-authored by a Florida Atlantic University physician."

"Broward [County]'s young black men are five times more likely to die from homicide than young white men," according to CDC data gathered during 2006 to 2010.

"The national homicide rate for young black men is .... 77 out of 100,000."

"New Orleans area had .... 426 homicide deaths for every 100,000 young black men."

"Weekes [a Broward Co. public defender] said one possible reason could be the distrust some young black men have of law enforcement."

"Experts also point to poverty. Black men may be less likely to die in a car or motorcycle accident because they may not be able to afford those..."

These facts hurt my heart to reveal the truth of the matter. My eyes are watering because black men do not know how to pull themselves out of the gutter.

I saw a picture on Twitter not long ago. On the left side depicted a nice looking young black man smiling brightly in his cap and gown ready for graduation and filled with all of the promises of opportunity. Depicted on the right side was a black man with a blunt hanging out of his mouth held in place by his teeth, a teardrop tattoo by one of his blood-shot eyes, his pants hanging down below his butt, his hands forming gang symbols and a tiny toddler standing nearby.

So my question is when did the change occur? And why did the change occur? What can we do to help them return to a life of self-dignity and self-love?

One thing I truly believe would help and that is if our POTUS would come out and make a statement to encourage thugs to begin their life of honesty, integrity and contentment. He has missed a golden opportunity to help guide the young black residents of Ferguson, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Memphis and St Louis by developing programs where individuals could learn a working man's trade.

Memphis girl here (and a licensed social worker with a masters in vocational rehabilitation counseling). I graduated from a Memphis high school back in 1974. That particular school had an excellent technical program even back then...so much so that I walked into a high-paying, high-responsibility job right out of that program.

There are a number of second-chance programs in place as well (HopeWorks Adult Education comes to mind, for one...https://www.facebook.com/HopeWorksAdultEducationProgram).

I can assure anyone that Memphis does not need POTUS to come in and help them with programs. They have been in place for ages. If people refuse to utilize resources offered, there's not much anyone can do about that. You can lead a horse to water...

Their new strategy, while they have these professional protestors, from RevCom [ communists] and OccupyIntl [ anarchists and some marxists] is to TRY and be arrested and to create chaos. So they are splitting up in small splinter groups to throw LE off and make them scramble.

There was a very sad and tragic case of a kid in a Walmart in Ohio, and he was playing around with a realistic looking BB rifle, and planned to buy it. But a shopper thought he was a guy that was going to shoot people, so he, 'stupidly' imo, called it in as if he was threatening to shoot people. Which he wasn't. But the cops came roaring in, thinking it was a serious situation, and they shot him. It was an hot mess all around. I have so much compassion and sympathy for his folks, because he was NOT a walking home from a robbery. He was doing errands and being a bit hasty, not realizing anyone would misinterpret his actions. I feel so sorry for his family. But it was not a case of cops wanting to harm anyone. I just wish they would have waited longer and assessed the situation better.

So the whole idea here is in order to bring attention to their cause they are trying to get arrested at places that are symbolic of each of these shootings? All while apparently trying not to be physically violent at all? Or have they attacked people yet? I don't know that that is the best route but I suppose I can see what they're going for.
