Watched the presser but could not hear it very well. Wish the news station had turned the volume up a bit.

Anyone else catch much that was said? I did like what the big officer on the far left said about it being ridiculous what the protestors are saying about cops killing without concern or feeling for the victims. Far from it, according to the officer.

Activists tally FergusonOctober's strengths, weaknesses

“A lot of the regular protesters were upset and offended by the party atmosphere,” Greider said. “We have had our fun moments but Ferguson isn’t a nightclub. We’ve also been hurt and terrorized by police.”

Another local activist, Dhoruba Shakur, 24, arranged what proved to be an enlightening field trip for the newcomers.

“We took them on a quick trip to the QT in the Grove neighborhood,” said Greider, 28, who works as a paralegal for a Clayton law firm. About 150 protesters engaged in a sit-in there that ended with 17 arrests and numerous participants’ getting pepper-sprayed.

“It worked well,” she said. “You could see people understanding just how terrifying it can be to face angry police in riot gear.”

idk reading that article I just feel like they set them up for that confrontation because that was not civil disobedience. jmo

After watching this mess unfold for weeekkksss >>>
all I can say is
waaaaaa waaaaa.
Ignorance is so abundant that these people ignore the fact that cops in riot gear are there because of the ^&*() demonstrators.

I wish I could rewatch the statement by the officer in the middle, talking abut how 'certain' local politicians are poisoning the reputation of local LE, implying they are constantly shooting blacks with no provocation.

JMO Can anyone guess what is causing the delay with the GJ returning a no true bill or a true bill with charges?? This is ridiculous, to me. I'm sure that they have seen and heard all the evidence by now. I wish they would just step up to the plate and make a decision. Let what will be the reaction happen, and move on..........JMO

Of course IDK......I'm guessing everyone involved with the GJ is dotting their i's and crossing their t's. Making sure that things are in perfect order.
I read somewhere that the city is planning on how to handle the crowds whenever the GJ decision

This just reminds me of once when I was little my brother was almost ran over by the mailman, instead of getting mad at the mailman my mom asked "why were you in the street?". It's about personal responsibility! If he would have been following orders of his house arrest he would never have been in the position he was!

That is revolting. Why didn't the officers who were there call for more help? Guess that would have escalated things, but I hate to see the police humiliated, and especially by that piece of trash. Glad he was arrested. What was the arrest for? He needs his lips sewn together.

Why did LE go there?

I sure 'n he!! wouldn't go to a block party in that neighborhood!

This is in response to DebinGA's link for video:

During the livestream of that QT trip, I was reading the chat on Anon cop. And some were outraged that the cops were 'protecting' the gas pumps and not the protestors. Do they have any idea what could have happened if an instigator set off a flame near a pump? The entire place could have blown up. The cops were protecting EVERYONE by surrounding the pumps. But the protestors accused them of being 'capitalist pigs' for doing so.

[ I think I have nearly worn out my 'face palm' icon since posting in this thread. It is just so perfect for so many of their antics. ]

[h=1]Weariness of Ferguson protests grows[/h]
But for some, discomfort is exactly the point. Alexis Templeton, 20, a Ferguson resident for 13 years, has emerged as one of the protest leaders.

“My response to the people who are tired of us is that you’ll be uncomfortable until we stop being uncomfortable,” she said. “We’ve been uncomfortable for years. You’ve been uncomfortable for a matter of days and now you feel it should end. That’s not fair.”

Templeton acknowledged that troublemakers throwing objects, looting stores and causing other havoc were hurting the cause.

“But you can’t blame all of us because of a few bad apples,” she said. “Just like we can’t call everyone from Ferguson a racist, because they’re not.”

Nope just the police.

Still NO admitting that MB stole, ignored and attacked a LEO.
There blindness is astounding.

From the Instagram pictures I saw this morning VM was very involved in gang life.

VM was a hardcore <mod snip>. Much worse than <mod snip> Mike Brown, imo. VM's case is absolutely justified shooting by the officer. I cannot believe they are protesting in Shaw and trying to make THIS a poster boy for a poor shooting victim. He was wearing an ankle bracelet for previous weapons charge, which included a high speed chase and resisting arrest charge, was carrying a stolen gun, which he shot at the cop with. He posted pix of himself with the stolen illegal weapons all over social media. And the protestors are trying to make him out to be an innocent victim. GMAFB

The parents of both these deceased young men are being treated like royalty by the protestors. They are escorted regally and praised highly. And I want to protest that. Especially VM's parents. Foe them to be so blind about what was going on is wrong. I KNEW what my kids were putting up on their Social Media because i lurked their face books and IM's. When I saw a picture of ZigZags on my 16 yr olds FB I called her to the carpet and had a come to Jesus moment with her. She thought it was 'cool' to post that cuz she saw it on a friends tumblr . :slap:

You have to watch your teens. If they have pictures posted with stolen guns in their laps then it is the parents responsibility KNOW ABOUT IT. If your kid is ON HOUSE ARREST, then why is he out walking around with friends, and armed? If he wants a turkey sandwich make him one. Or go get it yourself! I blame the families because it should never have gotten that far. They have complained that he was their only child and was taken from them. If he was their only child then it should have been easier to keep track of his comings and goings. jmo

The guy walks in front of the camera just a second before you see him pointing something. I actually think it's a phone. But is absolutely NOT a finger.

Oh NO. SLU really messed up by trying to 'do a solid' for them and allow them to come and demonstrate 'peacefully.' Anyone ,besides me, ever try to help someone by letting them move in until they could get on their feet. Getting rid of them is not easy. :pillowfight:
Oh wow... going through that RIGHT NOW! It's been 6 months.

the only witness who reported that ODW spoke to MB & DJ was Dorian, a less than stellar witness IMHO & a proven liar

I can't believe people are so nasty as to SPIT on LE ! Really supports their peaceful movement - NOT
cbm
yup...

They can't admit it, their entire movement is based on it not being true.

To me it doesn't matter if OW cursed, he directed them to do something and they did not comply. I believe on ACLU website they advise to comply and document. It my seem a bit silly to file a report for cursing, but it would have been part of a paper trail showing disrespect to public.

Yes, so you don't die. I don't think that comment has anything to do with the legality of not complying.

The ACLU does not say to document and comply "so you don't die". They (ACLU) have been out talking to the protesters telling them what they need to do and how they need to behave in order to document things for their "cause". Unfortunately the protesters can't seem to keep themselves in line and actually document anything that is useable. How many people in Ferguson have been pulled over, arrested for whatever reason, dealt with LE that have NOT been shot or died? That answer should alert the protesters that their chants of police killing them is pointless. LE has shown great restraint during all of this. The protesters have not.

MOO

As far as the whole "why did the Shaw cop chase after VM" thing, with his history, I would imagine just the way he was behaving and acting gave the officer more than enough to gather suspicion than just the color of his skin.

And you know what? I realize there is racism in the world and I realize that racial profiling does happen. But I will tell you this: Who do you think a cop would be more likely to find suspicious and perhaps follow...Vanilla Ice or Carlton from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air??? Who would the average cop prefer to beat down - Justin Bieber or Denzel Washington? It is about far more than skin color. It is about the way they dress, the way they carry themselves, the way they speak that makes someone look suspicious. I am sorry that so many in the black community choose to act this way and call it their culture. Well their CULTURE is what is getting them killed and is getting them profiled - much more than the color of their skin. Act, talk, dress like a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, you will be treated like a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, even if you are a medical student. Act, talk, dress like a normal person in society and you will be treated as such, even if you are a violent criminal. Perception is the key and police - and all human beings for that matter - respond to a lot of visual and verbal cues when making an initial assessment of another human being. They say that first impressions count, well, yes, they do. Your initial assessment of someone might be totally incorrect or off base once additional information is known, but when you are talking about life and death situations like these, where the totality of the event last less than 3 minutes, there isn't a whole lot else to go off of.

Think about how many times per day you make an initial visual summary of a person. You see a man iin a 3 piece suit and tie, you would likely think "businessman" even though he may just be headed to a funeral, or a wedding, or to a court appearance. You see someone wearing gold chains, baseball cap turned sideways and their pants hanging down, you are going to think "street 🤬🤬🤬🤬" even if the person is a straight A student that volunteers with the elderly 3 days a week.
