Sheriff Steve Bruce says the badly-decomposed body was found near the Missouri 215/Missouri 13 intersection near Brighton on Saturday afternoon. The sheriff believes the body has been there for a long time.

Looks like they have not identified the remains yet. They are going to use DNA and dental records. No foul play indicated.

Near the body, authorities found a backpack, a tent and a sleeping bag. Based on the foliage around it, the remains appear to have been there more than a year.

Bruce said though his office has a possible identity of the remains, it is unconfirmed.

Sounds like the guy must have had some ID on him, but they need to figure out a way to confirm it.

I keep checking the news, but never see anything about this. I emailed the Sheriff's Office several days ago, but never received a response. I really hope they can match this one up and I hope they let the media know about it.
