Another arrest which SNAP has linked to both churches and possibly Mohler case?

http://www.snapnetwork.org/snap_pre...her_man_connected_with_church_is_arrested.htm

snipped from your link --

Another man connected with church is arrested

WHAT
Holding signs and childhood photos at a sidewalk news conference, 2 clergy sex abuse victims will
-- disclose that another priest in a controversial Independence MO-based church has been arrested on child sex abuse charges,

WHEN
Monday, November 23, 1:30 p.m.

WHERE
Outside the Independence Central Police Building, 223 N. Memorial Drive (corner of Truman & N Memorial ) in Independence

WHO
Two clergy abuse victims who belong to a national support group called SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAPnetwork.org)

WHY
SNAP has learned that a former Blue Springs man, Paul Cool, is behind bars now, having been arrested late last week by the De Kalb county sheriff on child sex charges. Like several other alleged child molesters who were recently arrested, Cool was associated with the Community of Christ.

...

Cool was recently baptized and ordained an elder in the Vermont Mormon Church.

Cool moved to Vermont in 2005. At least one of Cool’s victims was abused in Missouri. Detective Trooper Megan Sheridan of the Vermont State Police in Bethel, VT (802-234-9933) is handling the case. Cool also spent some time in Montana in recent years.

So this "Cool" guy moved to Vermont in 2005, was recently ordained an elder in the Mormon Church, DeKalb county late last week....what the heck was he doing there?

What a coincidence that he's in MO right in the middle of the investigation of the Mohlers?

We definitely need to sleuth out this 'man'.

ETA: corrected my post because I re-read SNAP's press release & 'unconfused' myself. (oops)

Missizzy - I've been thinking about Randy Leech and the Independence Center. I understand we are searching for missing persons who might be from that area, but the girls stated they abducted this person from the mall...it could have been anyone at a mall. Just passing through. No relatives to report them missing, KWIM? I in my mind, this person doesn't necessarily have to be within driving distance of MO, he could have been on the highway driving coast to coast and decided he needed something at the mall and had the bad luck to run into the Mohlers...

That is not to say that I don't think Randy could be the person the girls are talking about, it just seems odd to me that he would have been at the mall, unless buying a gift for the party? Meeting someone there? It was mentioned there were much closer places to him for gift buying - maybe it was a special store that only existed in this mall (like Spencer Gifts type of thing??)? This line of thinking would place him at the mall before going to the party, which also seems odd given the description of events. Am I making any sense? He would have been drunker than cooter brown by the time he reached the mall, but that would make him an easy target, IMO. Plus, the mall would have been closed at that time of night. What am I missing here?
Am I the only one who remembers the girls saying that this victim appeared to be in poor health? Would a drugged/drunken Randy Leach appeared to have been sick to little girls?

Mo. man to face Vt. sex charges

On Nov. 13, three felony charges of lewd and lascivious conduct were filed in White River Junction District Court against Paul J. Cool, 49, of Amity, Mo. The charges allege Cool repeatedly sexually assaulted a woman between 2006 and 2007, when she was between 18 years old and 19 years old.

The woman told police that Cool told her God had spoken to him and told him to prepare her for marriage, records state.

"All of this that Paul Cool was doing to me was, as (Cool) told me, a testimony from God that (Cool) was supposed to heal me," the woman wrote in her sworn affidavit. "I was pretty confused. Eventually, I was convinced that (Cool) was right and that (Cool) was hearing from God."

The woman told police Cool had claimed he was rebuking an evil spirit when he laid his hand on an intimate part of her body, records state.

*******************************************************************
He also faces additional charges in Middlebury District Court for an incident in Cornwall for lewd-and-lascivious conduct with a child.

A DeKalb County man was arrest last week on charges of lewd conduct with a child in Vermont.

Sheriff Wes Raines said his deputies arrested Paul Cool at his home on Nov. 16. Mr. Cool has waived extradition and is being held in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg, Mo. Authorities in Vermont said they are coming to get him.

“All the players involved live in Missouri now,” said detective Megan Sheridan of the Vermont State Police. “But the crime happened in Vermont.”

<snip>

A former Vermont resident and purported priest with a spin-off Mormon church organization has been arrested in Missouri on charges he fondled two female relatives while living in Vermont several years ago.

Paul Cool, 49, of Blue Springs, Mo., is facing two charges of lewd and lascivious conduct. One charge involves alleged fondling incidents with a teenage relative at a home in South Royalton in 2006 and 2007; the other alleges he touched a pre-teen relative at a home in Cornwall in 2007 and 2008.

According to a police affidavit on file at Vermont District Court in White River Junction, police were alerted to Cool's alleged conduct when the mother of the two victims contacted police in February and said Cool had inappropriately touched her teenage daughter in 2006 and 2007.

.....

Cool, described by the older female relative as a priest with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is listed on the rolls of the Community of Christ Church in Independence, Mo., as a financial contributor to the organization, a church spokeswoman said Monday.

IWannaKnow--I think that's definitely allowed and it was very helpful. I ran a check on the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 video about "F***ing Grandma and Grandpa" and it really exists. It's another whole genre I didn't even know about. The site (not going to link but you can find it through Google) says that is was released on DVD in 2001. I wonder, though, if the videos retrieved during the searches were DVDs or videos? I'll bet these 🤬🤬🤬🤬 titles were re-released on DVDs and the film is actually much older.

Once again, the details are what get me. The Louis L'Amour books and the alleged victims remembering that there's code inside of them. The mention the Sackett series which follows the lives of two brothers and their escapades. The maps are chilling. I'm sure as we're sleuthing, there's a roomful of LE with dry erase boards and maps, hard at work.

Has anyone been able to compile a list of missing persons from that area from the 80s. We have so little to go on, though. I found it very interesting that 🤬🤬🤬🤬 involving Black "Hookers" showed up. I wonder if that might be a clue?

The "child sexual abuse" pamphlet doesn't worry me as much as it did at first. I'm thinking that could be a public health sort of pamphlet discussing the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse. That would have been real helpful.

They could have targeted victims with out of state tags. Jeff- Alabama, could this be where the person's from or does it represent a geographical location on the farm ? Or both ?

thanks for the link -- it explained why he was picked up in MO-- because he had started to assault this woman again & she went to LE in January.

CHICANA - That's good thinkin'! What if they were picking people up at the mall and this is how they were *coded*? First name from DL (or elsewhere) and state from license plate? Geographically, I guess they could have stood at the farm at a particular location and decided that *area* would be Alabama?? Could work.

Did anyone else notice on the search warrant, just above Jeff-Alabama is this:
"wooden box w/cutting knives "Roy Shumato" "?

I'm so full of questions and wonder if anyone can provide a link to the new search warrant returns that came out today because the links I've tried aren't working yet.

Thank you....all of you are amazing

For Pennydawn--I don't recall the girls saying that the kidnapped man was in poor health. Does anyone else? They said that they were instructed to tell the man that their Dad was having a heart attack. The document states that he was able to throw the girls off of him, after they arrived at the farm, so he must have been somewhat strong. If if was Randy Leach, I'd think that this sort of shock would shake you out of drunkenness to a certain degree.

http://www.fox4kc.com/wdaf-mohler-sex-crimes-search-warrant-111709,0,1861641.story

"In search warrants obtained on Tuesday, the victims said they were forced to help their father, Burrel Mohler Jr., murder a man they kidnapped from Independence Center in April 1988. The victims said Mohler Jr. followed a man to his home and instructed one of the girls to get out of the car and tell the man her father was having a heart attack and needed help. After the man was lured to their car, Mohler Jr. allegedly attacked him by placing his hands around the man's neck. The victims said Mohler Jr. then blindfolded the girls and drove to Mohler Sr.'s farm in Lafayette County. One of the girls said she peeked through her blindfold and recognized Mohler Sr.'s A-frame house."

What do you make of this statement?

"...a man they kidnapped from Independence Center in April 1988. The victims said Mohler Jr. followed a man to his home..."

If that statement is taken at face value, they would have kidnapped the man from his home as they followed him there. They might have spotted him in the vicinity of Independence Center. BTW, how far is Ind. Center from the spot where the cave was supposed to be (a tip on the Randy Leach site)? It's very confusing.

Do you know the name of the caves? There are some right up 291 Hwy from Indp. Center, but Randy was from Kansas, and there are some over there, too.

When this news of this case broke, I immediately thought of a client I had a few years ago. She was LDS and spoke of sexual abuse going on between her husband and their four young daughters. Husband's aunt knew of the abuse, but was a "good woman" and knew "that's just what happened".

No one believed our client. The Guardian ad Litem thought she was crazy. She eventually was arrested trying to sneak her kids over the border "to get away from their abuser".

I am haunted by this more and more as the days go by. What if she was telling the truth?? The Court (Jackson County, Missouri) gave Dad sole custody. They are LDS. They live in Independence, Missouri.

BBM --

yep, we read it ...

They are also investigating the possible murder of a man. The children told police they were used to help lure the victim, described by one ofthe children as 6'2" and 300 pounds and "in poor health," into Mohler Jr.'s car by claiming their father was having a heart attack.

this case is hard to keep up with because the 'details' given vary...for example, one site I read that after the 300-lb man was in the car, the girls were told to get in the car, and on another site, they were told to get in the back seat....so ya have to track down several sites to get enough details to makes sense of some of this. :banghead:

ETA: YVW (links to PDFs for latest search warrant returns) -- but I have to credit IWannaKnow -- she posted the link where I found them...and I still have them all open. :)

I noticed & have been trying to locate anyone with that name. No luck so far.

I also noticed all the maps they found at Sr's -- Iowa, North Dakota, Omaha, Western-Central U.S., Missouri, Arkansas, Mark Twain Forest "etc".

Of course all these maps could very well be ones that were used for perfectly innocent travel.

But they could hold clues, right?

Concerning Paul Cool:

A few things. I noticed that he's associated with both the Community of Christ Church in Blue Springs and just was ordained in the Vermont Mormon Church. IMO, there seems to be more cross-over than anyone wants to admit. Also, I noted that the C.O.C. Church is distancing from him awfully quickly just as they did with the Mohlers.

http://www.snapnetwork.org/snap_pre...her_man_connected_with_church_is_arrested.htm

"SNAP has learned that a former Blue Springs man, Paul Cool, is behind bars now, having been arrested late last week by the De Kalb county sheriff on child sex charges. Like several other alleged child molesters who were recently arrested, Cool was associated with the Community of Christ. The men, who were recently arrested in Lafayette County on multiple charges of forcible sodomy and rape, at least six victims of these men have come forward and described the horrific childhood abuse they suffered. Authorities believe there is a "strong possibility" of more victims

"Cool was recently baptized and ordained an elder in the Vermont Mormon Church."

"According to news accounts, even while church officials were denying the men had "leadership roles," the officials also claimed the men's priesthood licenses were suspended."
