Well, I'm ready to hear what the fellows have to say for themselves. I hope Darrel's attorney reminds him to keep his hands in his pocket (wait.....no.....we need to see those hands, sir) so he can't flip us off again. And can Roland's attorney please remind the man that this is not the place for grinning. Just trying to help keep things on the straight and narrow. I wonder if we'll see any of the hundred or so supposed supporters in the courtroom? Hmmmm.

Texas Mist--I wonder if the victims or victims' family will start attending. We certainly (meaning just my husband and me) attended the arraignment and pre-trial hearings in our trial. I guess that's their choice. It's got to take an amazing amount of courage to finally step out into the limelight. It's gotta happen, sooner or later. Oh, my heart just breaks for those kids.

Thanks for the head's up, TM.

I was just checking MO Casenet again and noticed that I'd missed a few pages. We've posted about Burrell Mohler Jr. having at least (if not more) four wives. Does anyone know who he's married to now? Has that person spoken to the press? We got a statement from a KMohler, Roland's wife. She's the one who was in conference with her husband, per the judge's permission, about the sale of some property. We know that Sr's wife turned over his nasty 🤬🤬🤬🤬. It's been reported that David's wife works at Graceland University and that Jared isn't married. We know that Darrel, from Florida, has a new wife (well, now that's a shock) and also has several children and grandchildren. I haven't read anything, though, about Burrell Jr's current marital or family status. Casenet shows him divorcing a couple of years ago from a PMohler and states that there are children involved. How did that get past me? Does that not raise any concerns? I wonder if these were birth children or step-children (as was the little boy Mr. Y was concerned about)?

If Burrell Jr. has/had children in his current home, I wonder what the status of those children is. I'm very hopeful that DHS is taking a close look at those kids. I wonder if the very presence of those children might not have been what pushed the older siblings to disclose. I've always had the sense that the survivors might be concerned that this crime would be repeated...either in the family, the community, or the church. I've also thought that, most likely, the survivors would be starting their own families and worried about the male relatives having access to new little ones.

Has anyone seen any new info? Anyone local hearing anything of interest?

Here's his newest marriage license.

If that link doesn't work, you can locate it here by putting in his name.

If I remember correctly, she owns a house in Blue Springs. Wonder if she has daughters ?

Thank you Chicana, I hadn't seen that. I find it particularly ironic that Jr. signed and took an oath that it is understood that "marriages between parents and other relatives and children are void". Hmmmmmm. I distinctly remember reading that this group allegedly thought it would be charming to "play wedding" with the little girls. That makes me livid!!

I hope the elder who officiated at this marriage checked this woman's ID. Being that Jr. was excommunicated from the LDS church years ago, who is this elder and what church does he represent? Heaven help us if she brought children to the marriage. Remember, we don't have to just worry about little girls as there were at least two reports of little boys being raped or placed in danger.

Burrell Jr.'s new wife is 50 and has never been married so maybe she doesn't have children. We can hope. I seem to remember, though, that he had children in previous marriages--not including the alleged victims. I wonder if he's maintained shared custody of those kids?

I also noticed that the new wife's birthday is tomorrow. I guess she'll be busy standing by her man. Wouldn't you think this woman would be reeling from hearing these accusations? Jr. got a divorce from wife #3 only the year before she married him. How could she think she knows everything about this man--enough to "stand by him"? I don't get it.

The new wife is a 1977 graduate of Odessa High School so she's a home town girl. That's where the marriage took place. One would think that Jr., at least, would have a reputation around town. IIRC, the investigation was already ongoing at the time of this marriage. Does anyone remember if those arrested had any knowledge of an investigation?

Don't these good church-going ladies wonder about the multiple marriages? The women we saw in court seemed very modest and conservative. What excuse does Jr. give for moving on?

Does multiple equal plural?

MissIzzy - I can only imagine that Jr's story to his new wives was that the previous "did him wrong", nothing was his fault, etc., etc.....too many women go along w/ that never questioning it. (JMOOOC)

I know I did it - being young & very naive....my ex was abusive but you'd never hear that from him or his family....it was alll his first ex-wife's fault....I had no clue about how to dig for the truth.

Poooor Jr. Right.

Yeah, I get the blaming it all on the ex. IIRC, there were several posters on Topix who did blame the whole "story" on one of the ex's. That's one of the only down sides to being married to same guy for 37 years. You can't blame anything on him as he's sitting right next to you and remembers the story well. That's my point about the small town.

I have no doubt that Jr's laying the blame on his ex's but you'd think that in such a small town atmosphere and within the same church family (and yes, I know the churches aren't exactly connected but come on, there must be family members of everybody spread around), there would be talk. I haven't seen anything about Jr. having a good deal of property or money. What's the pull for these women? Obviously, he must be charming or be able to put on company manners while he courts.

I'm anxious to see what the courtroom looks like tomorrow. I wonder if local channels will post it live. I'd think that there'd be quite an interest in the case, at least in the mid-west.

Maybe they're desperate or homely ? Jr's new wife owns her home and both her house and truck are in her name only. It doesn't sound like he brought anything into the marriage.

Did Randy Leach have any ties to Stillwell KS where the Mohler's have family ?

Maybe I'm confused but didn't "Mr. Flip-the-bird", Darrel Mohler, get a change of venue and a change of judge? So, is he appearing in the same courtroom and in front of the same judge as his brother and his nephews? I'm assuming that he's traveled with his new wife and sufficient oxygen and mobility devices back to Lafayette County for the appearance? What exactly did a change of venue get Darrel? He sure got to walk for a low price. Who decided that?

Is one judge going to handle all these cases? How do we know that, in a rural area (where it seems everyone knows everyone else), that this judge is impartial? The more research I do, the more involvement I see with the Community of Christ Church and the RLDS for many in these small communities. What do we know about this judge? This case has to have every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed and hold up on appeal. I don't want to see these alleged victims have to go through more than absolutely necessary. FWIW, "alleged" is SO hard for me to type.

I'm already concerned about the laws in Missouri concerning Post Conviction Relief. Those laws are the ones that hung us out to dry in Oregon. Our kids were called and compelled to be deposed ten years after the crime when the rapist called for a PCR trial. Our family, along with Oregon Crime Victims United, was successful in changing the laws. However, our kids were drug through h*ll first. I wish someone could alert whoever is helping these victims to get started on that process.

On that same subject, I have a question. Our children were supported by the county Children's Advocacy Center. Who helps victims who disclose as adults? Is it the local Rape Crisis Center or the DA's office? I want these alleged victims to get the support they need as they go into this trial. I wonder if any of them will be present tomorrow?

OK, I'm really confused now. Can anyone help out with this? I went back and read some links I posted about 10 days ago. These are concerning the change of venue and change of judge for Darrel:

http://www.columbiamissourian.com/stories/2010/01/22/darrel-mohler-getting-new-judge-rape-trial/

How big is Lafayette County? Am I missing something here?

"He [ETA, Darrel], his brother and his brother's four sons all are charged in Lafayette County with molesting and raping children beginning in the mid-1980s."

Isn't Darrel scheduled to be in court in the morning? Lafayette County? How does that equal a change of venue if he's appearing in the county which he's charged in?

I think I just found the answer to the questions about Darrel's judge & COV....I guess he had to have a new judge first, in order to have a judge to hear the COV motion....he has a 2nd court date this week on Tues.

01/21/2010 Docket Entry: Judge Assigned
Text: The Honorable Larry Harman (27120) is assigned to this cause by Supreme Court of Missouri.

01/26/2010 Docket Entry: Motion Hearing Scheduled
Text: Court set the Motion for Change of Venue for hearing. Notice of Entry is faxed to the parties.
Associated Events: 02/02/2010 , 14:00:00 - Motion Hearing

Also, I updated my previous post about their hearings tomorrow to show their judges - which now they all have the same judge except Darrel.

What happened to Judge Freuning (sp)? He previously was assigned to 2 or 3 of these cases.... I don't see him listed as a judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit any more.

Feels like I'm losing my mind here!!

Chicana--You asked if Randy Leach had a connection to Stilwell, KS. I wrote to the woman writing a book on his disappearance to see if she knows. I checked and Stilwell is only 29 miles southeast of De Soto, KS, where Randy lived. I know that there was quite a bit of talk about several parties that April weekend within about a 20-30 mile radius. Can I ask why?

I looked at these sites and didn't see Stilwell.
