FREDERKICKTOWN, Mo. (KMOV) – A large search was underway Tuesday for a missing Creve Coeur man.

Timmy Dees, 26, was last seen at the end of February near County Road 277, off 72 in Madison County, Missouri. A 9-1-1 call was reportedly made from Dees’ phone near the area he went missing on Feb. 28.

Dees’ Family told News 4′s Jenna Rae that it took weeks for law enforcement to get involved.

On Tuesday, officers and about 50 people were outside searching the area where the 9-1-1 call was made.

Was it Timmy who made that 911 call? Did he say anything? He's been missing for a long time now.

An interview with Tim's mom will be live today at 8 PM (in about 3 hours).

If you check on FB you'll get your answers. It's an odd one for sure.

An interview with the mom should begin in about 10 minutes at the Youtube channel above.

Wow, according to the live video 911 call wasn't recorded due to budget cuts (that's what the police told Barbara, Timmy's mom).

What?! Budget cuts?! How much does recording 911 calls cost? You can get terrabytes and terrabytes of storage for just a few dollars.

Plus, I would have thought recoding a 911 call would be a legal obligation, partly for evidence, if need be, on both the call takers side and the person calling.

By not recording it, you are leaving it down to memory, or a "he said, she said" version of a story.

That is not good enough in modern crimefighting. It won't stand up in a court or a prosecution.

Audio evidence is vital.

MOO.

It seems the budget cuts affected the repair of the system.

Seems that getting the missing person report filed when the claim is made from another area is a problem these days. Precious time is lost while jurisdictional issues are ironed out.
From everything Mom said, her son went to a friend's place on Village Creek Road in Madison County. At about 4:30am Timmy dialed 911 for help claiming he was being chased. Police went to the residence, Timmy wasn't there.

Sounds like there was a party or something going on that night? I checked to see which home would have been Caleb's, but there's no one by that last name that lives on Village Creek Rd, so they may have been visiting someone there.

Was the video in the store confirmed by his mother?

His mom finally has answers she's been seeking. My thoughts go out to her and all who love Timmy.

May he rest in eternal peace. :(

He was found on private property. Hopefully more details are released soon and we find out the cause of death and manner of death.
His Mom was so dedicated to finding him. If there was foul play involved, I’m sure she will be just as dedicated to getting justice for her son.
