MO MO - T'Montez Hurt, 19, last seen at Greyhound Bus Station but did not get on a bus, Kansas City, 1 Feb 2024

MOO and speculation:

I wonder if T'Montez smoked weed while with the woman he had recently met. Weed was legalized relatively recently in Missouri and there are plenty of legal shops around the city. However, there are still a lot of street dealers selling illegally as well. The difference in potency varies wildly and the weed sold in stores can be way stronger than expected. There are so many news clips and 911 recordings of people calling 911 on themselves after consuming marijuana and thinking they are overdosing or it was laced, but ultimately they just consumed too much marijuana.

I am extremely familiar with the 70+ blocks he walked along Troost and I'm just baffled by this. The majority of the route is commercial and residential with businesses and homes directly facing the street. He passed two major universities and there are multiple city bus routes on this street. Maybe he wasn't familiar with this because he's from St Louis, but city buses in KC are still free through at least April 2025 so he would not have needed money to hop on and head up or down Troost in either direction - no need to walk.

One place he would've passed is A Splash of Life - a drop in/donation based community center with a big free closet and free fridge outside. I'm sure his family has already been doing this but they should check with some of the more grassroots homeless outreach programs like this one who have direct contact with the community.

Isn't there a point, after consumption, with those who have called 911 on themselves thinking the overdosed on marijuana, that they come down from the effects? I've never heard of a case were someone stayed in a psychotic drug induced episode from marijuana? I have heard of those types of episodes being induced by harder drugs?
Any thing is a possibility and I would hope there would be a point of "come down" if he did consume drugs?
I've heard those places that sell legal marijuana have high security and require all who enter to have their IDs scanned or recorded in some fashion, so those shops might provide a good lead if he did enter one!
