Cars that go into the river often end up sinking in shallow water, so they get spotted. Many times, however, they can disappear without a trace. Here's a story where they went looking for a woman's car in the Missouri River (some 200 miles downstream from Kansas city) and they just kept finding cars. It's unclear how many they ended up finding.

The airport is a 15-20 minute drive away from Parkville (The area of her last ping.) That is still a ways away imo.

I would like to know more about the insurance tracker. Are they sure it was disabled? Can water disable it? If the car fell into the water, I wonder if it shut off because it got engulfed into water.

Interesting post, I went back and looked at 2525 Burlington, and was surprised how close the Missouri River is to her location, Asked a vender about GPS underwater and it will disable it, Rain no.. Underwater yes. Stolen cars are frequently abandoned and towed and stored. A friend had reported her car as stolen. LE found it abandoned and ticketed it several times before it was towed and stored. I forget how she found it in the storage yard but it was not through LE. The tickets, towing fees, and storage fees exceed the value of the car so it was a total loss for her.

The last time I looked her car had not been reported as stolen. Maybe that's changed. IDK.

I guess I just assumed it would be different since its an active and publicized missing persons case

On the case map, KCI is not too far from parkville and in the direction she seemed to be heading. There are two cell towers in the area where she could have been pinging from. On the map, you'll see them marked near Tiffany Springs Park and Tiffany Greens Golf Club.

Going to the airport would explain why she drove north instead of towards the area she claimed to be going. There are thousands of places to park there between airport parking and hotel parking.

I just feel like if she boarded a plane, wouldn't there be easily obtainable records of this? Her bank records would also probably indicate if she bought a ticket or not. Unless you can purchase plane tickets with cash in person.

Maybe she faked a text about getting pulled over again so her friends would think she's in jail and not sound the missing alarm.

To be honest guys. IMO, this will not end well. That Toni was doing or where she was going is second hand. Toni's sexual-ness was evident early on in her teen years. Toni was on a journey. We all have one. I look over her sm presence. I think about what I share and what I don't. I will tell you that right now, chances of finding her are slim. It's. KC baby. Rough and tough and fun. Toni was no stranger to the outside. I saw where 4 months ago she was interested in yoga, peace and more recent mind altering states. The kids trying to find who she is. We don't know what happened. Why are we concerned? Well, I study behaviours. The fact is, we got little clues. No body, no car, no phone, no clue. She was making some money, having fun and trying to go to school. Im thinking about this girl and where she may be. Has anyone gone as far as to find out how busy work was that night?

the JD byrider footage showed that she was pulled over right across from the gas station. He technically escorted her but really he just watched her as they both drove away.

It's frustrating that the dashcam won't be released though.

I suspect this was misreported. The traffic stop was across an intersection from the QuikTrip. Some reports are that he directed her to the station. That could easily get misreported as escorted. There was no reason to escort her, as they were already right there.

I may be miss reading you, so I apologize if that is the case, but are you implying that because she was sexual early in her teens, and lived in a city she is likely not alive? She may have lived more high risk then others but so far there is no real indication one way or the other. Her life choices shouldn't mean we shouldn't be concerned for her. And they don't mean she's dead. At this point anything seems possible


Also on a side note is Kansas City known to be dangerous? I know it has its areas but I've never thought of it as being up there with like Chicago or Detroit or even St.Louis

I remember reading a Reddit thread when this first happened, and someone claiming to be her neighbor was saying how she complained to them a few times about a particular client, I think her wording said he was being creepy. Everyone told this person to report it, and I'm pretty sure they replied saying they were going to.

It seems to me if she was planning on running away, she wouldn't have told others she was going to meet up with them. Wouldn't you want to hold off the questioning of where you are as long as possible? Making plans to meet up with friends is just going to cause a lot of worry, I just don't understand why she would purposely do that if she was planning on getting away that night.

I'm thinking that it all might not really matter. I think she met with ill fate. Her life style does statistically raise the odds for being a victim. I think all efforts should be made to find her. In no way do I think her lifestyle choices mean she is less important than anyone else. I think she has been on a path of discovery. I think something happened to her. There are so many happenstances that could have occurred. Do I personally think she is alive? At this point, not really. I hope I am wrong.

I've lived in KC for close to 6 years. There's definitely dangerous areas here (especially in Midtown), but I'd say the crime here is pretty subdued compared to Chicago, St. Louis, etc. The homicide rate for 2016 was reported as being 201.
