Where is the reward? Part of the gofundme was supposed to be for a reward. Here we are, over 4 weeks later, and no reward.

What if somebody has info and is waiting for a reward to be offered?

KC Crimefighter has posted that a $5k anonymous donation has been offered, contingent upon a matching donation from the 🤬🤬🤬 account. Maybe that will get the ball rolling.

I'm not sure, the amount of bodies found lately in the area are clouding my judgment.

I live in KC. It's quite common here unfortunately. There are some dangerous areas and most of these bodies and homicides are in those areas.

Absurd, Imo. It's not a donation, but an attempt to prove a point.

Plus he has zero credibility. I did see that, and found myself wondering if somebody with info and $5000 was looking to double his money.

Which is what made me think somebody could be sitting on info and waiting for a reward.

The reward was mentioned early on. If some criminal-type has info, wouldn't they wait for the reward to be offered?

Maybe they're getting impatient...

Agree. Also it feels like stopping to help someone in need on the condition another person also stops to help. Then while waiting for said help, passing time by discussing how awful people are for not helping.

I just feel that a parallel discussion is going on here, purposely or not. Finding Toni is often overshadowed by a whodunnit with the 🤬🤬🤬. Regardless, you could be right. And 10k is the magic number, I suppose.

Just to clarify, the body in Holt was the badly decomposed one in the creek? Or were there two separate bodies found today?

Maybe she was supposed to meet someone at the Quick Trip and after she got pulled over by the cop and obviously the cop either followed her or saw her pull in and that person got nervous and left and went somewhere else close and texted her to meet at another location. She didn't want to seem suspicious for pulling in at the gas station knowing the cop could be watching so she purchased some gas and left.

How sad. The skeletal remains could more likely be Jessica Runions. Toni hasn't been missing long enough. So scary.

Thanks to kitty for asking and Carpe for clearing that up. I thought it was one body. 2 in 24 hours plus the 2 found randomly during searches awhile back? That is pretty mind boggling.

On the positive side: at least their families will have some amount of closure. My feeling is it would be horrible to never know, to continue to hope and pray a loved one is still alive but never know for certain.

I'm not convinced that the frequency of finding human remains in a general area has so much to do with violent crime rates as it has to do with population density.

I posted data in another thread regarding this. Unfortunately this metro area is in the nations top 10 for murder. Data is based on deaths per capita.

Seems to have an awful lot of missing people as well. So that murder rate might be deceivingly low, even still.

I'm not much of a believer in statistics, but that being said: I think it's safe to say our theories are not mutually exclusive.

Ideally I'd like to think that people who offer information come forward because doing so is it's own reward. There are many people who offer information that solves crimes and even refuse to accept money for what amounts to simply doing the right thing.

I have extremely mixed feelings about offers of rewards. Ultimately I suppose it's for an individual's next-of-kin to decide what they wish to do. On that note: are we aiding in creating a society where soon even otherwise "good people" will only get involved if there is a monetary gain also involved?

If only "the bad guys," people with actual guilt knowledge or otherwise responsible in some illicit way financially benefit by offering information: should they rightfully be rewarded? Moreover: could we be aiding in creating an increase in crime--building, even, a new kind of job market for people who aren't contributing to society via legitimate work?

Those are just the tip of the iceberg where my concerns are involved. In December of 2016: a family in the small area where I live was burglarized while away on vacation. They places some cash, jewelry, documents, and the ash-filled urn of their 6-year-old son's remains in a safe prior to leaving their home.

After returning home and finding their safe gone: all they wanted returned was their son's remains, and they offered a $5,000 reward for their safe return.

The very people who were involved in the crime went to a local attorney to facilitate a cash-for-ashes return with the family. The attorney did the "job" pro bono and because of attorney-client privilege (and fear for her own life) did not and will not reveal any names of who exactly retained her services.

So basically: it amounted to the criminals profiting off of the crime itself, plus using extortion to obtain money for the son's ashes. I have a feeling that stories like this will become more common, and the advent of technology/🤬🤬🤬 accounts/etc. will likely not help in reducing the problem.

Reward or not plus already enduring the agony of a lost loved one? Awful position for any family to find themselves in.

For those following this case this topic has been mentioned, questioned, confirmed ad nauseam. This is normal for this area regarding homicides and bodies found that are tied to other cases. This is not a new situation happening in and or around KC.

I need to defend my home town. Kansas City is a big beautiful city with lots of great neighborhoods... but it is a big city.. we have big league ball teams and we have a real urban core. It always cracks me up how people not from here think we should be schucking corn all day. We have skyscrapers .. crime .. racial strife.. all of it. Most would say this is a safe city.. but no city is safe at 4 am.

💪 KC proud! Ditto on all this ^
