Gonna go ahead and say it again...

It wasn't actually confirmed the Hadden kid was an informant until AFTER he turned up dead. So that might be standard protocol that they won't release that information unless they turn up dead. Also a great reason for parents to not say much, in case she is alive, but understand the odds. Also a great reason for people around her to not say much as if she was a CI, she was watching them.

It honestly seems to me like this is really the most plausible solution in this case.

If she had left a suicide note, that would be publicized. If there was foul play, that would be publicized. If there was an accident, wouldn't they say that? Why would they say no foul play if they have no idea? They must have some idea of what is going on and are trying to reassure the public.

The police initially said no foul play the night the two young teens in Indiana went missing. They also said no foul play to the woman that Todd Kolhepp abducted in South Carolina a few months ago.

These strip bars are the front porch of the human trafficking industry. I am amazed that we allow them to exist.

Not true on the suicide note. There are a few cases I have seen where the suicide note was not publicized until after the remains were found. There are some data points that are kept hidden in order to protect the investigation.

Hmm with Kala Brown the articles I'm seeing said foul play hasn't been ruled in or out. Also, the Indiana teens were discovered quickly... so did they really think there was no foul play or were they just saying that? If the girls had been missing for more than a month, would they have said there was foul play? Maybe in this circumstance, they don't really mean no foul play is expected... maybe they mean it hasn't been ruled in or out, like with Kala Brown. I just think they're not telling us something and that if they really mean "no foul play" then they're lying. JMO, of course.

Why would they keep a suicide note hidden? Because they're not sure that the victim actually wrote it? I would think if they're positive that it's suicide, they would tell people so as not to freak the public out.

This whole thing is confusing. :-(

The police did not say there is no foul play. They said they have no evidence of foul play. Those are completely different statements.

The first says they know something, the second doesn't.

You can often tell a lot just by what the police are saying and doing. Police do not generally lie in public statements. When the police say there is no evidence of foul play, then the most likely explanation, but far, is that they have no evidence of foul play.

If it is true that they have six detectives working the case, it also seems highly unlikely that they have evidence that Toni ran away on her own.

So it would appear they have absolutely nothing solid at this point.

A suicide note wouldn't necessarily mean the suicide was carried out. Nicole Mittendorff's note wasn't revealed until her body was found. LE didn't want interest to lag until they found her.

"...similar to a Lincoln Town Car"

Why are they not giving the exact make and model. They towed the car and would know that info. It's weird it's not being confirmed the make and model of the car.

Just saying... focus on top town car on bottom. If you don't know cars well I could see how someone would just say what they think it looks like.

I thought so too but why withhold the make and model? Seems so basic to just say that.

In the Lindsey Piccone case they didn't release the suicide note til after.

  • #355
I wouldn't expect them to reveal a suicide note unless they were sure there was a suicide.

In this case, though, how would the police have found a suicide.note? Highly unlikely.

Wow. After reading that Toni was added to the missing children database, I suspected this is where we were headed...

"Mom thinks missing UMKC student is a victim of human trafficking"
http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article134146444.html

The interview is now confirmed. Seems it took place in Kansas City:
"Liz Anderson returned to Wichita on Monday from Kansas City, where she said she was being interviewed by the makers of the TV show 'Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen.'"

Liz Anderson said the money is in an account that “hasn’t been touched yet.” The money was originally supposed to go toward hiring a private investigator, though she said police have advised against that so far.

Seriously, is it just me or is this odd? Why would they advise against it? :/

If it was my child, I'd be offended by that or want a really damn good reason.

In genreal I trust police but am not naive enough to think there are not bad cops out there. I'm tossing around the idea that if this area is so high in trafficking it could be because bad cops are involved. I hate to say that. But
"OMG just just pulled over again" is really not sitting well tonight.

Liz Anderson, who works at the Kansas Star Casino, said she and her husband both returned to work recently, though Brian Anderson is working at a resort in northern Minnesota while she stays in Wichita.

The Andersons sold their home here in January, though she has no immediate plans to leave Wichita.

Toni’s boyfriend has never been a person of interest in the case and that he has been cooperative with police.

Police are still waiting on the iCloud information to be retrieved from Toni’s Apple phone.

Liz Anderson said the money is in an 🤬🤬🤬 account that “hasn’t been touched yet.” The money was originally supposed to go toward hiring a private investigator, though she said police have advised against that so far.

BBM - Why would the police, at this point, advise the family not to hire a PI?

"Liz Anderson returned to Wichita on Monday from Kansas City, where she said she was being interviewed by the makers of the TV show 'Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen.'"

“I believe she’s been taken, and I believe it’s human trafficking,” Liz Anderson said. “They can’t find her. The Kansas City detectives have been amazing, but they’re perplexed.”

Why is she praising LE (ingratiation) for not finding their daughter. Often times suspects will want to play nicey nicey with LE, although, they (LE) do not let that slip by. They take note.

“It’s been a horrible nightmare,” she said. “We’re trying to maintain.
“At times, the grace of God is the only thing keeping us together. You just try to not let it totally consume you, but I know we’ll find her.”

This is distancing language. This is up close and person. This is not universal. She should be using he pronoun "i" and "me" . This is her daughter, not mine or anyone else.

“At times, the grace of God is the only thing keeping us together. (I) just try to not let it totally consume (ME), but I know we’ll find her.”

How does she "know"

There’s even a Facebook page called “Toni Anderson Missing Scam,” which is the first result that pops up when “Toni Anderson missing Facebook” is searched on Google.

“I’ve seen those rumors, and they’re absolutely false,” Liz Anderson said. “Toni would never do something like that. For what? She had so much going for her. She was in school, and she had the apartment in Kansas City that she always wanted.”

Something ain't right. She slips into past tense again. Doesn't Toni have much going for her anymore?
Is she not in school anymore?
Hasn't she got an apartment anymore?

It is still early on in the investigation for a mother to talk like this.
Does she know or believe she is dead.?
Have LE gave her reason to believe she maybe dead, thus slipping into past tense.?
Has she been suicidal in the past and she fears this?
What is causing her Mother to consistently slip into past tense language?
