Moms Say Geico Pig Commercial Promotes Bestiality

  • #61
Have the Million Moms ever objected to these Disney classics?

300_frog_princess_092408.jpg

... promotes bestiality, and voodoo

...promotes sexual harassment of comatose centenarians

...promotes necrophilia

Because all their children who have ever seen Snowwhite developed a desire to make out with dead people, they are sure to start acting promiscuous with all the talking, driving pigs they meet.

Maybe not a good idea to give the Million Moms any ideas (especially about Disney, early Disney). All these decades of clean entertainment (but those early Disney writers...they had great imaginations, which you would think would be something to encourage in not just children, but everyone). Within reason, of course.

Have they ever complained about Family Guy with Brian dating human females. Just saying.

  • #64
oh there is a whole plethora of things they could go after on Family Guy. The Brian sexually active and dating human thing is the tip of the iceberg.

lol

How did we ever turn out normal, growing up with Looney Tunes?

I would love to know what they would think about this one. Its an oldie but goodie. They would probably want to ban grammar from the classroom! :floorlaugh:

Maybe maths has already been banned?

About Ellen DeGeneres:
After announcing she was “proud and happy” that JC Penney was sticking by her side, she explained to America that “Being gay or pro-gay is not a bandwagon. You don’t get a free ride anywhere. There’s no music, and occasionally we’ll sing, ‘We Are Family,’ but that’s about it.” And she noted that “For a group that calls itself the Million Moms, they have only 40,000 members on their [Facebook] page. They’re rounding to the nearest million.”

I am so glad I stopped by this thread-I havent stopped laughing since I opened it. My only comment, like many of you, is that some people have too much time on their hands.

Highly unlikely headline #1:

Teen Caught Porking Sow Claims "Geico Made Me Do It"

All this malarkey proves is that 40,000 Moms clearly need to get out more.

The Million (who needs to take a math class) Moms should take a look at their namesake M & M ads. They'd melt!

For the record I thought they were protesting obesity. Who the flip thinks of bestiality in everyday life?

Let's make Maxwell gay for a day! :seeya:

Well, duh. 40,000 slightly histrionic American women do!! :D

Also, that creepy guy who breaks into horse barns all the time.

I admit Hubby and both looked at each other first time we saw this and said WTH ..

Not picking on you at all, OG, but I see this expressed here...

But I would like to say that I don't run around thinking of beastiality, or anything of the kind.

I can't say anything about the Million Moms, but I do protest the implication that those who have thought negatively of this commercial are considered "thinking" of beastiality.

OK, now that I've had some sleep, I think I understand what you're saying better.

I don't like the commercial either, because it makes the woman look like such a simpering idiot, not because it brings to mind any images of bestiality, for me, personally. My mind just didn't go there -- until this thread, anyway. What I was saying was that if you're crying "bestiality", maybe there's a reason: like, maybe you're overly concerned with the issue (bestiality) -- for whatever reason, but probably reasons you should look into, so it is easily brought to the forefront of your mind. (Not you, HC, "you" in the general population sense).

I suppose most of us have at one time or another thought, "whoa, this commercial is in really bad taste" but mostly we shrug and move on to other stuff, only a select few get so worked up over 30 second ad clips that we organize petitions or boycott campaigns over them.

It may sometimes be a good thing that some people care enough to try to do something about Ads That Are Wrong... If everyone just shrugged and said nothing the ads could get more and more outrageous and shocking. But in the grand scheme of things a talking pig wouldn't be where I would choose to start. How about having a million moms protesting about all the ads that promote unhealthy things that our kids don't really need and that are harmful to the environment that they are going to have to live in when they grow up? Something that is a real threat anyway. I doubt that any child will grow up to have a pig fetish because they saw some insurance ads.

The "pig commercial" brouhaha reminded me of this local woman who protested Fox TV's Married, With Children in the late '80s. Some here might recall this, too, but the censorship issue was huge in these parts due to the woman living in Bloomfield Hills, MI and her connection to the Romneys.

Censorship & Scandals

Married...with Children - During the 1988-89 season of the irreverent sitcom MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN/FOX/1987-97 a letter writing campaign, led by a housewife named Terry Rakolta from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, encouraged viewers and advertisers to boycott the show...

On January 15, 1989, Terry Rakolta watched this episode and was offended by the content of the episode. As a result, she then began a letter writing campaign against the show, by writing to the advertisers and requesting they boycott the show.
The Boycott would ultimately have the opposite effect then intended, when curiosity what the boycott and the show itself was all about lead a ratings boost into the series, potentially being the cause of it lasting for several more years.

:D

The talking pig boycott also had the paradoxical effect on a microscopic scale - on me. I had not seen the ad before but I have now watched it several times, along with other talking pig ads, and Geico has had the chance to spread its message of bestiality to me that it otherwise might have missed.

Married With Children was probably the beginning of the end of being able to watch TV shows with your young children in the same room.
