Moorers' Bond Hearing

If they are found guilty of murder and kidnapping, and are given LWOP, then it just a waste of taxpayer money to have another trial for the fraud charges. They are already in jail for their rest of their lives. However, if they are found not guilty or somehow get a small sentence, then they can get them on something else (see: OJ). They are digging into the background, to find things completely unrelated to Heather's case, for a reason.

Being found guilty of fraud is about more than additional jail time. If it's proven that they committed fraud, the state can and should go after them for restitution.

All that low class bragging Tammy did on the Disboards is probably one of the reasons their finances were examined. They reported income of something like $15,000 a year at the same time that she was posting dozens of photos of them on cruises and dining in expensive Disney restaurants.

Early on, I recall reading that folks thought these 2 were "wealthy". That has always baffled me. :waitasec: They had a trashy house, covered in trash. Nothing "wealthy" about them at all.

These new charges just confirm that. They were/are trashy people trying to portray a wealthy lifestyle. :puke:

I must also add that it pisses me off to no end to see people committing fraud and abusing services that some people truly need. That is an entirely different conversation not for this thread! :stormingmad:

From the link:

They are accused of concealing or failing to disclose to Medicaid the true household and financial status between January 2007 and March 2013, which caused the Moorers to receive Medicaid benefits they were not entitled to receive. "The value of these benefits were over $10,000," according to investigators

Ok, so this caught up to them today, they didn't do it today. Still, how stupid! What a couple of :censored: . :notgood:

Would not surprise me if we hear about the IRS jumping on board very soon. This couple is truly the gift that just keeps giving.

from that article

The couple's home was searched Friday morning by police who, Lieutenant Robert Kegler said, had a search warrant after analyzing video surveillance.

and
A police statement released Friday said: 'The search warrant was executed in an attempt to identify potential evidence based on new information obtained through expert analysis of previously seized surveillance tapes in the area along with financial discrepancies filed with the State of South Carolina on behalf of the occupants of the residence.'
Police teams and K9 units were seen investigating at the property on Friday.

so again--as I stated previously--getting the trucks seized was no biggie because they were seen on the 2 videos heading to and from PTL.
HOWEVER--they saw something on those videos--or others in the area--that allowed them to search the PROPERTY. and in my humble opinion--that is a HUGE biggie.:clap:

I think they saw Heather in one of the trucks.

These 2 are a piece of work. Completely disgusted on so many levels. They are dishonest, low life cheats. If I were sitting on the jury, I wouldn't believe a thing they said.
Hope they get the maximum penalty for all the charges.

ETA: wanted to change cheats to murderers...they are dishonest, low life, cheating murderers. There, that's clearer now.

Sounds like they are piling on the charges incase they are acquitted or don't receive the maximum for the most severe ones.

Hope you are joking. You seriously think false charges are being doled out?

IIRC didn't a local tell us early in he case that she had seen TM using food stamps??
That would be welfare fraud also if true?
Maybe more charges coming, I won't be surprised.
Getting to see the family thinking they could outsmart everyone.
any locals here remember???
I cannot find the post..........sorry.

I remember reading this, too. If they were going for Medicaid, there's a definite possibility they were going for foodstamps. Pretty sure a family of 5 making "$15,000" would qualify. Are both of these state programs, or federal programs, administered by the state? Either way, I would think the charges could be pretty severe, if proven.

Just did a little googling to see if I could find any new information regarding their bond hearing today. While I didn't seem to find any information regarding medicaid fraud, I did come across this website that has a detailed article with HQ pictures. The first one they have is a HQ picture of their backyard, where you can see all the trash and disaster they have built up. I don't recall seeing this picture before, so i'm going to share it in case any of you haven't.

It's the 9th (I think picture down) http://tinyurl.com/q888q24

or here's a direct link to the picture itself -

In regards to their new charges, all I can say is :floorlaugh: . They're doing an excellent job at building their own case against themselves. Color me shocked that TM & SM would lie?!

My favorite is the toilet. That's gotta be, like, a metaphor and stuff.

"For starters I use caps and bolds to grab attention, not because I'm angry or upset! And secondly both my husband and I own our own companies and make a #h%t(l@ad of money! I live in a HUGE 2 storied cutom brick house (that I designed) with a playground (just for my 3 kids) that will put the best private school out there to shame and the outdoor kitchen.....freaking amazing and it's bigger than the average persons HOUSE! So, yes, I guess we're "rich" in the eyes of America, not that it matters because money is just money and it can not buy one happiness or make them a better person." ~ TM

Both Moorers have been charged with obtaining signature or property under false pretenses and false statement for application for Medicaid assistance, according to the arrest warrants.

They are accused of concealing or failing to disclose to Medicaid the true household and financial status between January 2007 and March 2013, which caused the Moorers to receive Medicaid benefits they were not entitled to receive. "The value of these benefits were over $10,000," according to investigators.

Good Night TM...don't let those bed bugs bite. :jail::floorlaugh:

I'm pretty sure they are both federally run programs, each state however has their own name for the program.

The Medicaid charges they're facing currently are felonies with up to 10 years in prison for it. I'm going to assume that SNAP (Food Stamps) fraud would be about the same. I'm expecting the IRS to chime in any day now and audit them as well. If they lied on Medicaid forms about their income, it's pretty safe to say they lied on their taxes about their income as well. :thewhip:

Unfortunately, it sounds like the taxpayers have supported them well before they went to jail. I guess I'd rather support them in jail than out...not really feeling generous about paying for any more 'vacations'. Yup, the taxpayers will be paying for them for a long time. But, at least they won't be enjoying the 'free trip'.

Also, wasn't $10,000 in cash found in their home safe?

How could people who claim to be working as "wait/kitchen staff" with an annual income of $15,000 rack up that kind of savings?

It's pretty obvious that SM got paid a lot of unreported cash in his maintenance business. I just wonder what other scams they had going on.

Sounds Moorer like LE found evidence of kidnapping, murder,OJ,IE and decided they'd better look further and it just goes on and on. That's not piling it on out of fear of acquittal. That is LE doing their job.

The possibility of an acquittal is something that every prosecutor has to consider. A no-body murder case is never a slam dunk. After Casey was acquitted, they looked for every other possible charge to get her back in jail. OJ is serving time for another crime after his acquittal. It is a definitely a relief knowing that other charges are waiting in the wings if they are acquitted.
