http://openchannel.msnbc.msn.com/_n...is-dispersant-still-being-sprayed-in-the-gulf

The photos and tests lend credence to persistent but unsubstantiated reports by Gulf Coast residents that the spraying of dispersants has continued well beyond the cutoff date acknowledged by the Deepwater Horizon response team.

The image above — time stamped and embedded with geographical coordinates — was captured by New Orleans photographer Jerry Moran off the coast of Mississippi when he was out with scientists on Aug. 9

Not sure what to make of this, but I thought it might go in this thread...

2 million fish found dead in Maryland

(CNN) -- Authorities in Maryland are investigating the deaths of about 2 million fish in Chesapeake Bay.

"Natural causes appear to be the reason," the Maryland Department of the Environment said in a news release. "Cold water stress exacerbated by a large population of the affected species (juvenile spot fish) appears to be the cause of the kill."

The investigation comes days after the deaths of an estimated 100,000 fish in northwest Arkansas. Authorities suspect disease was to blame there, a state spokesman said.

In Maryland, preliminary tests showed water quality to be acceptable, officials said.

"The affected fish are almost exclusively juvenile spot fish, 3 to 6 inches in length," the Maryland department said. A recent survey "showed a very strong population of spot in the bay this year. An increased juvenile population and limited deep water habitat would likely compound the effects of cold water stress."

Large winter kills of spot fish have occurred at least twice before in the state, in 1976 and 1980, the department said.

I do believe that there are at times natural phenomana (sp),that occur an species of animals die enmass, but does it occur to this extent all around the world? Do we only know of it because of the internet and its been going on through centuries? I don't know, but no explaination any scientist has given has satisfied me yet. I still think its a man made thing, whether from pollutants, manufactured weather, something from the gulf spill,etc.. Its something nobody wants to tell us,and a whistler blower will probably find themselves in the same situation as the birds and fish.

I freak out just reading :confused:plus I half way thru Stephen King book "Under The Dome"

I was almost done with that book when this story broke...LOL. I think it at least doubled my freak out.

Dead birds and BP oil spill: Is there a connection?
Maryann Tobin
January 5th, 2011 8:02 am ET.

The recent sudden death of 5,000 blackbirds in Beebe, Arkansas, and more than 500 dead birds of the same species a few days later in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, plus additional bird deaths in Gilbertsville, Kentucky, raise questions about what the areas have in common and why all the birds died within days of each other.

Beebe, Arkansas and Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana are just 381 miles apart; a virtual stone’s throw for most birds. A map of the Southeastern United States shows that you can draw almost a straight line between the two towns. If you add the Kentucky location, another 781 miles away, the line only takes only a slight turn to the Northeast.

While some may consider it an unfounded speculation, one must consider the long term effects of the massive about of chemicals used in the Gulf oil spill as a possible cause for the bird deaths. Enough time has elapsed since the April 20, 2010 disaster to allow the chemicals to work their way through the environment.
During the height of the oil spill disaster, nearly 2 million gallons of Corexit was poured into the Gulf of Mexico. Corexit goes through a molecular change when it comes into contact with warm water; it changes from a liquid to a gas and evaporates into clouds. Corexit is toxic at only 2.61 PPM.

North America faces years of toxic oil rain from BP oil spill chemical dispersants
Maryann Tobin

Oil in the environment is toxic at 11 PPM (parts per million). Corexit 9500 is toxic at only 2.61 PPM. But Corexit 9500 has another precarious characteristic; it’s reaction to warm water.

As the water in the Gulf of Mexico heats up, Corexit 9500 goes through a molecular transition. It changes from a liquid to a gas, which is readily absorbed by clouds and released as toxic rain. The chemical-laden rain then falls on crops, reservoirs, animals and of course, people.

Warm air colliding with cold air is what spawns tornados, which there were several that night....

This article by Dolive says some of the doves were taken to a center to "recover". They arrived still alive, but died once they reached the facility. Also talking about blue in their mouths. They are very confused about the blue coloration. All ring-necked doves from what I gathered. Haven't heard any mention of blue in the previous incidence.

Thank you for bringing that Dolive. I hadn't heard about the Italian doves.

IWK, I agree with your jet stream theory. That makes sense. I just don't know how the jet stream was moving that night. If it was going over Sweden that would make me believe it was something in the air.

As for the BP thing, you'd think that birds and fish around there would be affected first. JMO

Thank you Steely. Good to know someone can follow my logic - lol. It IS a little crazy, but not as crazy to me as birdicidal power lines, or birds suddenly becoming terrified of fireworks, or them just willy-nilly crashing into one another mid air. I think the reason they keep saying that it was a mid-air collision is because they are finding birds with no external physical trauma.....but that is completely my GUESS. IDK. The whole thing is NUTS and IMO a little bit scary. If the Corexit was sucked into a warm air column that aerosolized and dispersed it into the clouds that could explain why the local fish haven't been affected, but that is simply my conspiracy-theorist conclusion. :innocent: If Corexit effects the liver and causes hemmorrhaging, it makes sense to me that the majority of the bruising would have been in their breast tissue (there isn't much other muscle on a bird...) and their legs were reported to be squishy. They have specialized muscles in their legs that allow them to perch and sleep without falling off the perch.

Do you know where we could find information about the jet stream that night?

Another interesting compilation of bird and fish deaths:
http://www.thebigwobble.com/2011/01/world-wide-dead-birds-fish-and-other.html

There is a one-line theory wondering if the earth's magnetic field is changing. Possible, says I. Also, I had things falling over in my apartment, like a bottle of soda and a 10# bag of potatoes, both of which were sitting on my floor. Two days in a row, earlier in the week, the potatoes fell over. I wondered if we were having slight "tremors" in PA.

Well, there are no dead birds in Tampa Fl-yet. But the airport needs to move some runway signs cause of a POLE SHIFT!!
Shift of Earth's magnetic north pole affects Tampa airport
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2011/jan/05/051903/shift-of-earths-magnetic-north-pole-impacts-tampa-/
snip-
TAMPA - Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached -- of all places -- Tampa International Airport.

The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth's magnetic north pole
I don't think any one strange incident by itself is anything to get upset about-BUT when you put it all together ....WHOA!

I don't know either, but good point that the internet affords us greater and almost instant awareness of die-offs all over the world.

I know next to nothing about Tesila (I am positive I've spelled that wrong!) I've never heard of death rays except in Science Fiction books/movies.

BUT---my son, age 19---swears to me that he saw a jet HOVERING in the sky----motionless---- for several minutes. At the end of the hover, the jet made a 90 degree angle turn and took off, in the words of my son "faster than I could see." We live in an area that is underneath the flight paths from local airports, and my son is well aware of what airplanes look like taking off or coming in for a landing. We have gone out at night to observe satellites and space shuttles as they pass overhead, so he knows what they look like. We have a telescope that we paid about a thousand dollars for, don't know if that makes it any good or not! but what I am trying to say is that my son KNOWS what the sky and normal flight patterns of various flying objects look like. What he saw on this day freaked him out----it was out of the ordinary, in fact the one and only time he ever saw anything like that.

I am 56 years old. I have heard of fish kills before, usually due to a known phenomenon that depleted oxygen levels in the water. I've heard of birds dying due to viruses, lack of food or habitat, but NEVER have I heard anything like what the news is reporting over the last few days. I do know this: if the cause of the bird deaths were something like fireworks, we'd see these massive bird deaths every single freaking holiday......starting from the first year that fireworks became available to the public. But we really haven't seen anything like this before!

Something different is going on.

I love red-winged blackbirds. I wait for them to show up in my yard every year. So far this year, I haven't seen a single one.

wasn't there a weird sighting of a rocket or missile off the coast of California recently that no one would take credit for? Wonder if somehow that ties in...I know, sounds crazy, but I agree with many of the posters here that something just doesn't seem right.

Thank you wm. The power line story is getting a little absurd IMO.

OK, I don't know if these are all related, like the crabs in England, but I will go ahead and post the ones I find. I understand wildlife deaths are not unusual, but the number and frequency of these seem odd to me.

Okay, so this in near where I live...too close to home! But, something I noticed today on the NOAA website: the average water temperature in January for Daytona Beach is 61°. We've been experiencing some of the coldest weather I can remember for almost a month now (including temps down in the 20's) yet the water on 1/6/11 was almost 72 degrees in Daytona according to NOAA. That's almost 10 degrees warmer than normal during much colder weather than normal...freaky!

This is one of many stories that was in the news when the oil spill was going on. So to find birds and fish dying all over the world does not surprise me. This was posted 7-16-2010

All Oceans Connected
I was just watching the Planet Channel and back in 1992 a ship caring thousands of rubber ducks fell overboard in the Pacific, the ducks were found from Scotland to Hawaii, and 15 years later are still traveling. It was this accident, turned experiment, we now know all oceans are connected. The Gulf Oil Spill will eventually invade all oceans. The Gulf also is responsible for heat to the other oceans, what will this do?
