Morocco - Rayan, 5, died after being trapped down 100ft well, 1 Feb 2022

Omg! I just logged on.
While I was sleeping 8 hours little Rayan was still in there. I've read all the posts since last night.
Injuries sound awful.....poor little boy.
May he heal...please, physically and emotionally.
@whitelilac
I have missed what’s been said about the injuries because the rain is interfering with my internet signal. Please can you or any of my fellow WS friends let me know what has been said about his injuries? Thank you in advance

I don't know....I'm still trying to catch up. So far I have read fractures, spinal injury and head trauma?

Edit: This may be an old source. I'm checking.

This suggests things are unfortunately moving more slowly than has been reported:

"A summary of engineer Murad Jazouli's statement to Channel Two 2M: - Between us and Rayan 80 cm horizontally and 150 cm vertically. Every 20 cm takes an hour of digging. Slow down the work, for fear of piling dirt on the child, not for fear of us. - In two hours, God willing, we will hear good news.'

I sincerely hope that ALL those involved in this rescue, no matter what their role, on the side lines supporting others or those in the thick of it, get support from the Moroccan government be and are fully recognised for their heroic efforts and actions in the glare of the Worlds spotlight and in such extreme stressful circumstances. They too will need help and possibly counselling to get through the trauma of the last 5 days and I sincerely hope that unlike the Miners who were trapped underground for ( I think ) 70 or 71 days and got no financial recompense for their suffering and the effects that it had on their wider family , emotionally, physically and financially, along with the rescuers having or receiving minimal support in the aftermath, I sincerely hope that Morocco’s Govt do right by then all

Surely this is old @Webbie2021 because medics and his parents are reported to be with him ( as much as the space allows )?

Anyone have a reliable source that he is with medics and parents? The latest I’m seeing on Twitter would indicate another 2 hours to reach him. Just trying to find a reliable source to follow. Thanks.

I can only go on the translation of the live feed so I agree if other sources are saying that they haven’t reached him then it’s very confusing however, I did see mum and dad being taken down to the tunnel and then they disappeared out of sight so I presume that the live feed where they say that he is with medics and parents are nearby is possibly correct but who knows????

There is so much fake news being reported, it’s really hard to tell what’s what. Probably a lot getting lost in translation, too. To add to that, we’re not familiar with Moroccan or Islamic news channels. And… a lot of what’s on Twitter is old, I just saw an “update” saying he’s been trapped 40 hours but it must be nearer 100 now.

We just need him out and on his way to hospital with his mum and dad.

Confusing news. This tweeter Shifae is very responsible, I have been following her throughout.

a member in the rescue team (tamarani abdelhadi) just confirmed that nearly one hour and half is left to finish the digging of the 70 cm. this phase is VERY VERY DELICATE so keep praying. #SaveRayan #أنقذوا_ريان
12m HERE ME OUT PLEASE, RAYAN ISN’T REACHED YET!!! I WILL NOT SHARE ANYTHING UNTIL I WATCH A RESPONSIBLE TALKING BECAUSE OFFICIAL CHANNELS ARE WRONG!!
@whitelilac
We are all stressed and tired and the language barrier doesn’t help , nor does the fact that no officials are stepping up to update ( which is understandable because their priorities are Rayan).
Re Shifae - I was watching/listening to her too but she has even said that it’s confusing and she has been awake too for many hours and is doing her university papers as she’s reporting, bless her, so I think that we just have to sit tight . It’s very stressful for us and we aren’t even there . Can you imagine the poor parents and rescue team not to mention Rayan
Let’s keep the faith that he will be out soon and given hospital medical care to treat his injuries before he can finally go home with mama and papa God willing x

There was a collapse, but it was minor, and it wasn't at the entrance of the tunnel. You could hear people in the crowd shouting about it, but the action never stopped.
Well thank goodness for that
I appreciate your reply
This is the issue about the reports isn’t it because I’m channel hopping between Twitter and BBC and YouTube and they are all reporting different things
