thanks narlacat for the info.
do you happen to know what on earth she was wearing them for ?

Patsy had bought them on one of her and JB's trips to NYC. She had bought them for another family member and had bought a pack for JB too. They ended up not being given to the girl and were on the floor of JB's bedroom.

The differences are very telling to a linguist as well. I could explain the whole thing, yet again, but I don't feel like it.

Don't worry as I am really not interested.

I am just getting a little confused about the sources of all of these things. I don't believe that you were the only person that I have heard mention Ruthless People or Ransom, so I was curious as Schiller doesn't mention those movies.

NO the size 12 panties were not on the floor...they were on JonBenet when she was found in the wine cellar. They were from Bloomingdales...days of the week panties and she was wearing "wednesday".

BlueCrab...the panties were not 12/14...girls panties come in 4, 6, 6x, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. JonBenet was still wearing size 6..(age appropriate). She even had size 4 panties in her panty drawer.

The size 12 panties were A CHRISTMAS PRESENT for her cousin but JonBenet insisted on keeping them if you believe Patsy. Hmmmm

I did not say the size 12 panties were on the floor Toltec. What i said was the pack of underpants that had been bought as a gift for another family member was on the floor.
And i think you will find that the underpants JonBenet was wearing that night were a 12-14. Patsy said so herself in an interview. If you want to check that go to ACR P.Ramsey 8/00 interview.
Also underpants come in sizes like this....4-6, 6-8, 8-10,10-12,12-14,14-16 .....

I am going to have to look this up. I am sure the rest of them ,in the packet, were lying on the floor of Jonbenet's bedroom, but i could be wrong.
I will come back and edit this when I find out.

From P.Ramsey 8/00 interview at ACR I couldnt seem to find where the packet of underwear ended up. It seems Patsy cant remember if she actually did buy two packets of the underwear,so im not sure if there were two packets like i originally said. She did say what size underwear Jonbenet wore but that differed to the size she says she would normally buy for her.

Q. What size underpants would you
24 normally buy for her?

25 A. 8 to 10.

22 Would that have been about the size pair of
23 panties that she wore when she was six years

24 old?

25 A. I would say more like six to

0094

1 eight.

Q. So if I understand you correctly,
11 you bought one package for Jenny Davis, your

12 niece, and one for JonBenet?

13 A. I am not sure if I bought one or

14 two.

1 Q. (By Mr. Kane) Okay. Were you
2 aware that these were the size of panties

3 that she was wearing, and this has been

4 publicized, it is out in the open, that they

5 were size 12 to 14? Were you aware of

6 that?

7 A. I have become aware of that, yes.

thanks narlacat for the info.

seems certain the killer/s used these size 12`s purposely for whatever reason.
so again the evidence points to the household or very well known to the family.
wednesday of course was christmas day, almost as if they were bought for the purpose, or somebody stole them specifically for this purpose.

I agree the underpants had 'wednesday' on them but im not sure wednesday was christmas day,I could be wrong though.
I dont think they were put on purposely, more that they were put on in a rush or by someone that doesnt understand sizes and didnt think it would matter. I think the opened packet of underpants were in Jonbenet's underpants draw in her bathroom.

thanks narlacat

wednesday was indeed xmas day 1996.
and if the rest of packet of "bloomi`s" were found, then perhaps there is another explanation, however if they were not then they are important. imo

The packet of days-of-the-week panties were found inside JonBenet's panty drawer in her bathroom.

The underwear on the floor of which you speak is the soiled ones found inside her pants which were inside-out.

The underwear i was talking about was the opened packet that was bought for Jonbenet's cousin. I didnt even know about the other soiled inside out pair found on the floor so no,i wasnt talking about them. What i originally said was "Patsy had bought them on one of her and JB's trips to NYC. She had bought them for another family member and had bought a pack for JB too. They ended up not being given to the girl and were on the floor of JB's bedroom".Yesterday 09:50 AM
Sorry if you misunderstood me,admittely i could have worded it better but i still dont know how you thought i was talking about the solied inside out pair.
Where can i find out about the pair on the floor?
Thanx.

Can you give me a source for the package of panties found on the floor? I understood that the panties were in the panty drawer.

You can read about the soiled pants in the Enquiror book.

Hi Toltec
Maybe you missed this post of mine...I agree the opened packet was in her bathroom drawer.
I havent got the NE book. I was just over at ACR and I see you can read some of the NE articles there, but i cant seem to access them properly. They start out normal reading size print ,then after say 30 seconds they go really small and then i cant read them.
Sigh.

Here's what you do. Watch the movies. That's what I did. Then transcribe the first phone call in 'Ruthless People' - I forget just exactly how far into the movie it is, but I think it's fairly close to the start. Then compare to the ransom note.

Ruthless People is the perfect example here, Twi. Not only because of the similarities to the ransom note. And not just because RP was based on an O'Henry short-story that has been in the culture much longer and influenced other "kidnapping" tales. But because Ruthless People is a perfect example of how multi-genre movies had become by the 90s and how futile it is to insist any adult never watched this or another type of film.

RP does deal with a kidnapping, but it was marketed very much as a comedy. Its stars (Danny DeVito, Bette Midler) are more associated with comedies than action pictures. A Patsy Ramsey who liked a National Lampoon film (i.e., Christmas Vacation) would very likely have seen RP.

My point exactly Nova. O Henry, eh? That's that guy from NC, right?

How ya doing...haven't talked at ya in a long, long time. That basement was cold five years ago when we were rehashing all this...by now it is sub-zero, and getting colder every day.

The only people who would have watched movies in that family would be mainly the kids and John Andrew and his friends when they came over.
I don't think Patsy was the sit down movie person. She had two young kids and all that volunteering work and all the craft stuff and the church i don't think she had what it took to stay still for more than five minutes. I think she was more of a reader at night kind of person.
I think John was too busy with work to be watching movies, or sailing or golfing. He was more work orientated and social.
John Andrew on the other hand would have loved to sit there with his Uni friends and watch action and gore. I can't see him and his friends watching any chick flicks and Burke would have watched on with them wanting to be one of the boys.
JonBenet would have loved childrens shows.

Back in the days of VHS and HBO I feel like a hit movie like Ruthless People would have been seen by just about everyone. Except maybe adults that didn't watch R-rated movies for whatever reason. The gag in RP is that Danny DeVito does not like his wife and so he does the opposite of what the kidnappers tell him. They tell him not to contact anyone so he contacts everyone. The same thing played out with the R's. Seems like a good candidate for inspiration in explaining JBs death. As for Speed, I think the 'don't grow a brain' line was pretty well known when the movie was popular. Sometimes you don't even have to see a movie, you can hear dialogue in commercials or kids/ friends/ co-workers will quote stuff. I think the RN writer was using a couple of movie lines that came to mind but for the most part it's all going to sound more or less the same when writing a ransom note.

From PR's April 1997 interview:

TT: Okay. Do you, do you get to the movies at all? Have you been out to see any shows at all?
PR: Oh, I have . . .
TT: I, I know it’s difficult in the last couple of months. . .
PR: Right.
TT: . . .because of, of what’s (inaudible).
PR: Right.
TT: Let’s say before December, what kind of movies have you and John gone out to see?
PR: Well, actually we didn’t go out to movies very much, because we had a home theatre . . .
TT: Okay.
PR: . . .so we would usually we’d see everything about a year after it came out.
TT: Once it came out on video.
PR: Yeah, but we, you know, the kids liked to watch movies up there . . .
TT: Um hum.
PR: . . .we watched “Forrest Gump” and . . .
TT: Do you and John watch movies at all up there?
PR: Uh, yeah, but I usually fall asleep. He, he usually goes, gets the movies and there not my favorites and I usually fall asleep.
TT: Okay. What kind of, what kind of movies did he, do you guys end up starting to watch.
PR: Um, he likes Mel Brooks (water being poured drowns out Patsy’s voice). He liked 1941. He loves animal House. I got him that for Christmas, and uh . . .
TT: So the kind of comedy type movies.
PR: Um hum.
