Couple arrested for child and human trafficking

Nathan Powe was arrested by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Friday. He has been charged with 10 counts of child , four counts of sexual battery, one count of kidnapping and two counts of human trafficking. Chief deputy Ward Calhoun says Powe attempted to sell access to minors on the internet. Powe’s total bond is set at $390,000.

Powe was out on a previous bond. He was arrested September 6th for possession of meth and child .

20-year-old Samantha Morgan was also arrested and charged with one count of human trafficking and one count of child . She has a total bond of $30,000.

Hopefully they have been placed with safe relatives or child protective services. They should never regain custody or nor have access to any other minors again.

There is a phrase in this article " attempted to sell access to minors on the Internet" that is making my heart cry for those little girls. Access to who's minors??

This is what makes these cases so unbelievably horrific. They usually have multiple little children. Do they ever get off these drugs? Do they just keep doing them until they die? I wonder what statistics are relating these methamphetamine addicts? Just heartbreaking. I need to stay away for a while, me thinks.

Nathan Powe has received 100 years without parole. He plead guilty to over 30 plus counts involving child exploitation.

Ms. Morgan is locked up in Meridian. That's all I can find on her.
