At this link at 1:59 the time stamp is 6:26:11, and it plays through the 6:26:54 mark (which is the second striped shirt guy magically appears in prior footage) and beyond...so that leaves us with 6:26:00 to 6:26:11 missing. And, of course, this is the only angle I have seen for any of the "missing 54 seconds" of footage.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUivKX1lueE

ETA: :tyou: to FindHG who posted this link originally, I had not seen the missing footage before that.

SBHack, I think you are mistaken. The period 06:26:00 to 06:26:54 is missing in the link you provide. Watch it very closely. You will see the timestamp hit 06:26:00 and then suddenly jump to 06:26:54.

Bottom line to all this is that those 54 seconds have been deleted for some reason.

WMC seems to be just speculating off of no more information than we have all seen IMO
He or she gave some very, very specific information on 2 very specific people people of position in that area that I have not seen before.

Those statements are either true or not true and should be easy to prove or discredit. Should they turn out to be true, WMC might be privy to what is happening in the 'undercurrent', especially if he/she practices law in the area.

I had a cousin who was an attorney in a community about that size. He had extraordinary knowledge of what went on below radar. Also, VERY often, defenders would roll over inside knowledge of crimes totally unrelated to their current charges as part of plea deals and concessions. It was scary how many concerned murder plots when the defender was only charged with a much more minor crime.

Many people look at defense attorneys as scum of the earth, but my cousin was very glad to save lives with such information gained from defendents. And he knew a LOT about what went on in the underworld there. In fact, the sheriff in his own county was sent to prison for several decades for very serious crime.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/11/us/mississippi-girl-burns-to-death/

Police are searching her data and text records after obtaining warrants Wednesday that compelled Google and her cell phone provider to give police access to her phone's content, Champion said. Investigators believe her phone will be "the key to everything," the prosecutor said. She received a call before she left her house, he said.

Heres something Ive never thought about before. IT sounds like not only cell provider but also google were subpoenaed . So Im wondering if you have a android there is info stored with google as well as other info from cell provider? If so I suppose the same thing would be the case with other phones .

I'm guessing with all of you and your great sleuthing that there's something deeper in the case then just a revenge crime. At first I thought it was her abusive ex. I really thought that there would have been an arrest. I was just wondering since I'm not familiar with the area is meth a big problem there?

"Something deeper" = a tell-all book perhaps????

This may be a little OT but I just wanted to say that in many WS cases, we know that LE follows and reads posts. I haven't seen any verified LE members posting for this case but it's quite possible that local LE folks are following the case here either as members or guests. Valuable clues or information found here could be useful in the investigation of this horrific case. WS has a major presence and during the Jeffrey Boucher case, WS was featured in a lengthy article in the Toronto Star. Some members over the years, have even provided significant information that cracked cold cases. I would just like to give a big shout-out to the WS moderators and members for not only giving a voice to the victims of crime but for all their diligence and hard work in providing valuable information, maps, photos and so much more. Thank you everyone.

At 1:59, the angle changes and it shows 6:26:11 through the 6:26:54 mark and beyond. This is the only camera view I have seen any of the missing 54 seconds in. And we still have 11 missing completely. Here's some screen shots:
Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 5.06.49 PM.jpg In this first one, you can see stripe shirt guy behind Jessica's car, the gas can is visible.

Hi guys- I've lurked here since the Celis girl's case a couple years ago, but this case prompted me to register. I live about an hour from Batesville in Memphis, and a VERY close family member is a big media personality here. They seem to think this was just a terrible freak accident, maybe involving her KIA (they are notorious for causing fires related to fueling systems)- and that the name she spoke was her own (Jessica). Most of what has been reported seems to be heavy speculation or even made up- the fluid down the nose and throat has not been proven (the autopsy report isn't even back), there isn't a reputable source for the emergency brake, and apparently there was not a party that night. I might have to eat my words, but this just seems like an accident of some sort. I respect you guys and know you spend a lot of time researching these cases (and are heavily invested in their resolution), but I have a feeling this will end up being an accident...just my two cents. Regardless, I feel terrible for her poor family :(

Welcome, Memphis-Belle! Love when people are prompted to get involved with the conversation!

I had considered an accident when it first happened, but I would stake my life on this being a homicide now. They are definitely investigating arson and the cell phone battery was removed. I would be shocked if this would be ruled an accident somewhere down the line.

I'm glad you mentioned him. Something bothers me about some of his statements. Like him claiming that if something was bothering her,she would tell him. I frequent the same gas station and I cant imagine confiding in the guy who runs it. Is he part of her social circle?

I read the "would have told him something" as meaning if there was someone in the parking lot bothering her. I have read lots of articles though, but I am sure not all. I do think it is weird, if he meant all her darkest secrets and fears. Although, in small towns, you often see the same people over and over and develop a type of relationship. There are some workers at Walmart who ask if I have been okay if they haven't seen me in a while. Although, I talk to every.one so ...

Just based on my own contacts in the area (since I'm not local), I've been told meth is plentiful. That's not uncommon in an area with a lot of rural territory. Meth cooking smells so it's easier to do it where there is more space and fewer people. But meth is fairly easy to get, usually made locally, and not all that expensive.
Heroin is a different ballgame. It comes from elsewhere, is ferried into the area, is more costly, and the "webs of influence" involved in its manufacture, distribution, and protection are widespread. The protection factor is often the roadblock in local cases like what we are (possibly) seeing here.

I dont know why people keep talking about this party from what i read the night this happend she was at home and decided to go gas up and clean out her car at the gas station . Thats why she was in her pajamas .Not many girls are going to a party in there pajamas..

Jessica wasn't in her pajamas. She was wearing camouflage-colored pajama-like pants that are kind of like sweat pants. Lots of young girls wear them out of the house because they ARE like sweat pants. I've seen many females wear them in grocery store lines and everywhere else, including college campuses.

And the "party" wasn't a dress-up, formal party. It was probably a gathering of some friends at a house who were drinking. I don't know about you, but when teenagers mention going to a party, it's rarely an official "event" and is usually just an occasion to drink and/or smoke weed, sometimes more.

There are lots of misconceptions on this thread. Here is the reality:

Pajama-like pants (such as Jessica was wearing) aren't pajamas.

The "party" wasn't an official party. It was a spontaneous gathering like those that happen every weekend in America.

This WASN'T an accident! LE wouldn't be investigating it as a homicide, saying accelerant was used, not releasing the initial autopsy and bringing in ATF if this was an accident!

For the same reasons, and several others, this wasn't a suicide!

Here are some more things we know that are relevant to the case.

Jessica's parents said they didn't know of anyone who would want to hurt Jessica, but that statement is difficult to understand given the fact that Jessica's dad said she had spent time living in a Battered Women's Shelter until a few months ago. The only reason a woman will do that (and not stay with family) is because there has been battering in the past, and there continues to be a threat of violence, from a spouse or partner.

There WAS someone who had wanted to hurt Jessica sometime in the past year. Because of that, Jessica had to live in a sheltered place until she felt safe.

In addition, we have now learned Jessica was arrested twice for "simple assault." Once was in August 2013, and the second time was in June 2014.

...be heard in Circuit Court. Jessica Lane Chambers 1024 Carlisle Rd., Courtland, was arrested and charged with simple assault. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

Panola County Jail Arrest Log 8/27/2013

...Justice Court. August 23 Jessica L. Chambers, 1024 Carlisle Rd., Courtland, was arrested and charged with simple assault. The case will be heard in Justice Court.

--------------------------------

Was Jessica trying to defend herself? If so, why wasn't the other person arrested? Who called the police and decided to press charges both times? Wouldn't they be considered a person who might want to harm Jessica?

http://www.criminaldefenselawyer.co...ississippi-domestic-violence-laws-charges-pen

Under Mississippi law, a person commits a simple assault if he:

•attempts to physically injure another person
•intentionally or recklessly causes physical injury to another
•negligently causes bodily injury to another with a deadly weapon, or
•threatens another person, causing that person to feel afraid that he is about to suffer serious physical injury.

Obviously, both times Jessica was arrested, she would have spent time in jail until she bonded out.

In June 2013, Jessica graduated from high school.

In August 2013, Jessica was arrested for "simple assault."

About December 2013, Jessica went to one of the ministers at her funeral with "personal problems," (he said it was about a year ago).

In June 2014, Jessica was arrested again for "simple assault."

Sometime after that, and before October 2014, Jessica lived for a time in a battered women's shelter or domestic violence shelter.

On October 25, 2014, Jessica approached Linda Oliver, a woman from Birmingham, Alabama (who has a music and speaking ministry) at a church conference in Batesville. Apparently, Oliver had written a book about overcoming her struggles in life, and Jessica asked if Oliver might consider helping Jessica write her own story.

In late November or early December, Jessica had gotten a job at Goody's store in Batesville and was said to be turning her life around and realizing she didn't need past abusive "relationships."

There WERE people who wanted to hurt Jessica, and the more that comes to light, the more we will know just WHO they are!

Hi all - new here posting (lurked) and love the community and respect on WS. I’ve always checked in while following certain crimes. I just wanted to list a few ideas and questions, I have to go to work so I can’t site at the moment, but I will later if I can :) This case is heartbreaking, I feel for the family. Here is my timeline with questions, please feel free to correct anything I’ve misunderstood!

1.The party. I have only heard that the party was the night before, which could be why she slept all day Sat. So it doesn't seem likely she was picking someone up from that party/getting cigarettes for someone there/stopping by. Maybe someone she met the night before, but if I’ve read correctly IF there was a party it would have been on Friday night, not Saturday. IMO
2.The quote I read from the doctor to the father about the lighter fluid was phrased “The burns inside were so bad it was AS IF she had lighter fluid squirted in her mouth and throat. I assume they jumped to lighter fluid not gas because it would more likely be in a squirt bottle?
3.I’m a young blonde girl and random strangers approach me all the time, the wave she give is similar to one I would give to someone I barely knew it at all. She seems friendly enough to wave a at stranger from what I’ve read. On this note I am super friendly and always talk with my local gas station attendants. I get coffee, beer food and gas there - see them all the time. They would tease me if I got cat food or something random, so it’s not odd to me if they are friendly/ask questions.
4.As far as the fire - do we know if it seems that the fire was set outside the vehicle and caught into the inside, not set from the insides and got out?
Gash on the head. Is this a confirmed yet?
5.Phone and Battery separated - was the sim card with the phone and how far away from the car were these items found?
I wonder about if airbags were deployed? Or even if you could tell. It would indicate a crash.
6.They Keys are in ignition, car in park and emergency brake pulled. I used to do ebrake slides as a kid all the time for fun, but if the attacker was in the car he can pull it the veer her off the road if things were not going his way. This would maybe point that she gave a ride to someone after cleaning her car.
7.With all the rumors - she might have only said her own name to identify herself to the first responders, maybe with some other info, but we do not yet know (as I’m typing this to my knowledge) if she actually gave the attackers name. This information is too far removed to know for a fact. Or could be throwing suspect off their track. IMO

So she is up Sat AM, Sleeps the day, Leaves home to get gas and food, pays for gas, pumps, says hi to someone, buys something else in the store (I have heard drink and ciggs - but never food) gets a call and leaves heading south. Does she ever get food? Could she put in extra gas because she was picking someone up to go eat, she pays gas and them food?

Since she was found out of the car, and taking in consideration the phone and battery separation rumor, and the recline of the seats, my unfortunate theory is that somehow the attacker got into her car - no theory as to where/how yet - but it seems a rape or sexual assault was at least attempted. Maybe she veered off while he tried attacking her in the car. She escapes the car and he knocks her out in some fashion. The keys are in the ignition and the car is in park, and the emergency brake is pulled, or that’s my understanding. Panicked, he must just toss the phone and battery (either before the assault or right after the knockout probably?).....if he threw a flammable liquid on her and she was on the ground, it would go up her nose and mouth. My guess is that the fire was started outside of the car and it became engulfed.

The one thing I wanted to bring up references the Skylar Neese case - I don’t know if it was discussed here as I was using a different site for that case. Since the two teenage girls who were suspected had little physical evidence on them, they roamed free for almost a year trying to get all possible evidence on them until one of the broke down and confessed. She ended up confessing largely due to what the community knew and harassing her. It was a small town too, but larger than in this case. If they perhaps think the attacker has something to do with a female which could make sense, maybe they are allowing them to try and slip up.

Lastly, I was chased in a car by some girls who wanted to fight me at 17, so when they finally cornered me I hit their car to get away. If there was damage to her vehicle that happened to not be caused by the fire, we could speculate she was chased down and run off the road. When it happened to me there were dents on the cars but no debris.

Just some ideas. Happy to join you all, but wish it wasn’t because of another innocent life lost.

Just my Opinion on everything - I only hope for closure and justice! JMO JMO JMO :)

Welcome LunaDreams. Nice to have your input and the insightful points you bring up. I hope you stick around as you seem clear-eyed and thoughtful.

From what I can make out, and this is total ignorance of the subject of how fires move, from the pictures posted up thread, it looks to me like the fire was started in the car, that it moved to the engine from there, thus heavy smoke and burn damage on the tree trunk in front of the hood, and not a wide burn mark on the foliage around it. If an accelerant had been poured on the outside you may have had more evidence of the leaves and shrubs around it catching fire. She may have been able to get out of the car before the fire reached the engine from inside as her feet were not burned. I think the perp may have wanted the fire to smolder inside the car to make time for distancing. See this post for links to pics http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?265018-MS-Jessica-Chambers-19-found-burned-near-her-car-Panola-County-Dec-2014-2&p=11300768#post11300768

Also, this video has footage that appears to match the 6:26:00 minute mark (if you look at the people leaving the store they match the time stamps from the screen shots I posted above), but the news heading covers the time stamps for the footage in this clip. http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...rt-burning-victim-before-death?autostart=true

ETA: screenshots
Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 2.18.50 AM.jpg This would be 6:26:09
Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 2.18.51 AM.jpg 6:26:10
Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 2.18.52 AM.jpg 6:26:11 (where the screen shot in my post above shows stripe shirt man behind Jessica's car, the people in the screen match up as far as I can see)
Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 2.24.28 AM.jpg Also 6:26:11 (from link in my prior post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUivKX1lueE)

What I haven't found are time stamps from this footage inside: Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 2.17.40 AM.jpg (this might be part of the missing 11 seconds, which makes me wonder what they are trying to avoid showing the viewer)

If this were an accident, you would need to figure out why her car was parked (we could assume it was parked because of emergency brake on, is that correct? plus her car looks like it was rear-ended imo). Not sure how you would explain that unless someone hit her parked car and it set off explosion, but wouldn't someone have reported it immediately? Why would she be parked by her self (smoking/drugs/etc.)? Why would she be parked where someone could rear-end her? And her phone ends up with battery and cell separated and she wasn't found in the car was she? An explosion seems like she wouldn't be able to get out of car quickly. I suppose it may be an accident but highly doubt it at this point from what's known so far and that's not much. jmo eta- but I could see perp(s) trying to set it up as some weird accident.
