They have basically said that they are waiting and praying for divine providence to solve the crime. Jesus is not on facebook or twitter, so I guess they see no point in monitoring the local citizenry chat, rumor, or not. JMO
:bananalama::goodpost:

Yeah, that's what I am saying. He is clueless (at the least) if SM has never helped him solve a crime.

Gotcha!

Social Media has never helped them solve a crime?

Wow, IMO, that tells us everything we need to know about him.

You know WebSleuths in his mind is social media, too. What a dip****.

I would be more receptive of the fact they ruled out AA,if an FBI agent said that at the PC.
But this guy Champion- I don't trust.
JMO

Respectfully, if he's been good enough to rule out the others, he should certainly be good enough to rule out the owner's son...He's been ruled out.

  • #125
I can't recall a recent case where we've had sooo many individuals actually stated by LE as outright "ruled-out."

Zero are ruled out for me.

Sheriff alluded to that ^^ in first press conference. Not sure about the local D.A.

Likely they do "monitor" SM though (as most LE do these days):

Champion: Social media is something we have to deal with. Rumors run rampant. We sometimes ignore it, but we do monitor. #JusticeforJessica

Ruling someone out means nothing. Lol. Gary ridgeway was ruled out too, but we all know years and years later he was deemed to be the Green River Killer. My LE brother-in-law said there are always people they suspect, but clear. He calls it CFN. Cleared for now. And apparently there are many strategic reasons they may do this. not meaning any of the people they cleared fall into that CFN category, but it happens.

  • #129
Hard for me to believe many can be 'cleared' when he admits they have no clue what the motive was, who was around, or what the heck even happened. Like he said, it all may change in 'five minutes.'

It means everything to ALL those ruled-out right now, their families, their reputations, etc. They are ruled-out, they are cleared For Now. That ought to be respected.

SM, in this case, went overboard IMO.

That is respected. In this forum. SM would have never been involved in this case to this degree of the very first presser didn't include the two bozos telling the world not to expect an arrest any time soon. That is when people got involved to the degree that they did.

Great sleuthing everyone. Still no arrest? No autopsy report? I believe this case will be solved. Someone knows something and they will eventually slip up. MOO.

Praying for justice.

Weird. The helicopter was there WAITING for her??? Helicopter from Memphis? She was a few miles at most from the church? How long did she languish at the site?? UGLY BIZ. JMO

I'd love to know how much time they spent at the crime scene that night.

Me, too. And if they photographed the crime scene before the tow. And what sort of lighting they had. And how many people stomping all over the dark crime scene...........GRRR JMO

JMO. There had to be tire tracks which would have been destroyed by the tow. Hopefully they have casts. JMO And foot prints. Reportedly it had rained .

Here is the link

"Jessica Lane Chambers, 19, 1024 Carlisle Road, Courtland was transported by ambulance to the parking lot at the Courtland Baptist Church where a waiting Air Evac helicopter carried her to the Med in Memphis."

I think the Panolian answers most of these questions. Haley immediately attended to JC's survival, and called in Medevac; she lived until 2:37am because of this. The crime scene investigators remained on the scene until sometime after she died at 2:37am in Memphis; they must have had some sort of adequate lighting. Although the torched area was soaked, the investigators still must have been as thorough as possible. The Panola Co. Sheriff's Department staff is lucky to have an investigator with 28.5 years experience with the Memphis Fire Dept.; they don't sound like Keystone Cops ...etc.

I think we can cut these guys some slack....

I think they know who did it. Being the FBI is involved, they will keep quite untill an arrest is made. They won't make an arrest untill they have all of there ducks in a row. They won't take any chances of them getting off in court. Just my opinion from what I have recently read.

<snip> The final results of the autopsy might not be available for about six weeks, Champion said, but officials have what they need to know what happened to the teen before her tragic burning death earlier this month.

I agree with Champion: there must be something extraordinary in Jessica's life before death that led to her intent to expound upon it in book form. Judging from what we seen recently the poor youngster had tragedy written on her life by the time she was 5 years old!

So, the reports of JC telling the fire chief who did this to her were false? Or she uttered words he couldn't make out? Could the reported name Eric have been "Wreck"?

What if in fact, this was a wreck? I know nothing about cars, but in my old 2004 Mercedes, I could smell gas fumes at times inside the car. I called the dealership and they told me to bring the car in immediately. They said don't light a cigarette or match. Apparently some seal or something had rotted from age. The gas tank was positioned basically under the back seat. I had it repaired as my daughter took over the car.

Since JC drove an older 2005 model, could something like that have happened where the gas tank was damaged as the car went up the embankment? And she engaged the parking brake due to the incline? And not realizing fumes were building, she lit a cigarette? And the car ignited?

Yes I am looking at other plausible scenarios....
I am wondering now if she was texting while driving or swerved to miss a deer or over corrected?

Sometimes people who have a familiar relationship with someone, even those in an authoritative role talking to someone who really doesn't need to know allow information to slip. They just can't help themselves (we are only human). We've all been there, right? There just needs to be better training for our local law enforcements across the country. How to be confidential, how to be prepared when encountering people with mental illness and developmental disabilities, such as autism, and how to use the least amount of force needed to control a situation. I have no idea if a local officer shared info he shouldn't have... But look at the big picture... somehow the dad got some ideas that put his grieving into overdrive and maybe some other folks, too.

I don't see anywhere in there they were there until after 2:37 or that Gerald White was at the scene.
