You know, I've been wondering for days, if Jessica bought cigarettes that day, if she smokes, were they the same brand she usually bought, or did she smoke at all? I wonder if anyone asked that question.

I'm not sure but I think that I saw her smoking a cigarette (or holding one in her hand) as she waved at someone on the surveillance video. I'll have to rewatch the video later to make sure. I can't watch it right now but I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Yes, she smokes. Before entering M & M, she bent down & carefully put her cig out on the concrete.

Agreed. I had thought not before, and shared it, but now agree with the WSers who saw the smoking initially.

I mentioned those three guys in the store, before. Two of them don't even look Jessica's way, the other one stares at her from behind. I just figured he was leering at her, like some men do, now, who knows?

I can't remember who the poster was early on in this thread that mentioned Jessica's body language/demeanor when she was "summoned" from someone off screen in the cctv footage.
That was not a "wave" she gave of "HI"!. That was a wave of "Oh ****" or "I'm not in the mood for this". She shamelessly dropped her head, stared at the pavement and walked off screen to this individual.
IT's not rocket science from here.

WMC Action 5 News

Ali Alsanai says he doesn't know if someone choked Jessica Chambers outside his store. He also says he just found out about the allegations and it is not in his surveillance recording system.
[...]
Kendrick Sanders knew Jessica Chambers. His cousin, a South Panola football player where Chambers was a cheerleader, dated her. His cousin was locked up a year ago and remains behind bars. Sanford says people have even talked about him in connection [with] the Chambers case.

"They got my name caught up in the gang part. It ain't no gangs or nothing like that out here," said Sanders.

Thanks to Janice Broach (and Action 5 News) we now have the name Kendrick to add to our list of names which sound like "Eric". This is very interesting. I am surprised no one has mention this yet.

The fact that Kendrick's cousin "was locked up a year ago and remains behind bars" is interesting too.

The fact that Ali says that " he doesn't know if someone choked Jessica Chambers outside his store" -- despite a week of gossip and rumors swirling around this tidbit -- is interesting.

Does anyone have a name for Kendrick Sanders cousin?

So, if she had an altercation the week before at the store...Why continue frequenting there? Surely there are other stores in the area to go to? I still think the link is that store. I think the person that knows what happened to Jessica was at that store when she arrived that night.

It just all points to small town corruption (I've witnessed it first hand. It's all in who you know and what dirt you may have on the other person) and possible gang activity. IMO, that's probably the reason she was at the shelter. Maybe her family was scared of the people she was associating with and in reason they just could not let her stay with them. Just sounds like she got in really deep with the wrong crowd and then possibly wised up. She wanted to let go of them and they didn't want to let go of her.

This may be another one of those unconfirmed rumors like the party that confuses things like the timeline, again based on what a guy of not such great credibility on details, other than he didn't do it, says. He seems to be leveraging info for attention.

I will throw this out there. jMO, FWIW. Several things about this video bother me. We can surmise that AA was at the store while JC was being murdered. But still, with all of the scrutiny he has been under, one would think the father(the true owner of the gas station) would have had a public statement issued by a close family friend or an attorney. Whether you are hiding something or not, every statement you make can lead to inconsistencies. If that is my son, I'm telling him no more interviews! When there is an active investigation going on for something this big, you do NOT want to draw attention to yourself, innocent or not.

AA is quite insistent that not one, but TWO members of the sheriff's office told him she had gasoline poured in her mouth. I'm not even sure how they would know that at the early stages of the investigation. Even if they did, how irresponsible is it of LE to share that info with someone that doesn't have the need to know? I don't want to hear about this being a small town and the sheriff slipped up. This wasn't the sheriff's first rodeo. Even a rookie cop would know better than to tell the gas station clerk something of that nature. IMO, the sheriff now looks like an incompetent fool and he has no one to blame but himself if AA is telling the truth about that.

Posting the unedited video of this interview seemed like a setup to me. It came off as sleazy to me. That whole part about the no-fly list should have been edited out! What was the purpose of that??Like I said, jmo! You really couldn't dream up this cast of characters. Would not surprise me at all if after everything is said and done that there is a new sheriff in town.

Did Jessica attend South Panola High School in Batesville?

I would like to know how they ruled him out.
Was he seen on video all the time after she left the store until the tow man came with car or are they going
by *witnesses* that saw him there the whole time.

Apparently. Can't find the citation right off the top though.

This poor girl, the horrible way she was killed. Are the police that naive/being payed off or what? I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that they haven't been able to figure this out it?????

He seems to be leveraging info for some reason, it's seems instinctively attention seeking, but still odd and contradictory the more he speaks.

I don't think he has a side. Imagine finding yourself accused of heinously murdering a 19 year old girl all over the internet, from political blogs to YouTube. IMO, he wants the truth but doesn't know it himself. If he doesn't talk to media, he looks guilty. If he does talk, he looks guilty. I think there is sufficient evidence that he was not with Jessica when she was burned.

"Altercation" is rather vague. It could be anything, from being upset that someone cut you off while pulling into a parking spot and mentioning it to a clerk or another customer, to a shouting match, to an all out brawl with punches thrown.

I think his whereabouts have probably been established at this point in time. I'm guessing. Who knows with this group of "investigators". But yes, I would say the surveillance system has already provided that info. I trust the FBI more than the locals and I believe the FBI cleared him.

I have NEVER heard Auntie being used for drug dealer. In the south, EVERYONE is Auntie or Uncle. No matter what race, or kin. It's sort of like a honorific title.

I've lived in the heart of Dixie for over 40 years, and I have never heard this term used for anyone. Even Aunts are not called "Auntie". Not being argumentative, just saying this is not true for my area.

Several federal investigative agencies are working on this case, so "small town corruption" or "inept local cops" isn't applicable, IMO.

OK-So the FBI did clear him.I did not know that.I thought
it was Champion who ruled him out.

Media has reported that the FBI cleared him. Also, I'm pretty sure the store's video surveillance system was taken into evidence. It probably shows him at the store during the time in question.
