Several federal investigative agencies are working on this case, so "small town corruption" or "inept local cops" isn't applicable, IMO.

If evidence was destroyed, lost, or not properly secured prior to those other agencies arriving on scene, they sure can be applicable. Imo. If we believe AA, the sheriff is, at the very least, very foolish and does not deserve to hold his position.

So M&M offers curbside chicken delivery services? No, they don't! That's crazy. The majority of gas stations in my part of The South sell fried chicken, pizza, biscuits. NONE will bring your food to you.

I am very much an amateur Wser, but I've kept up with enough cases to know that someone, sometimes everyone, always thinks that LE are inept. We always think they know very little, then BOOM! An arrest will come and it's unbelievable what LE has known, and often for weeks or months, as they waited on forensics or other factors.

Birds, yes. Chicken being the nickname of cocaine? I have NEVER heard that. Chicken!?! I've known a lot of people from a lot of walks of life. I asked my prison guard friend, and he works with gangs in the prison, and he has never heard of these terms you guys are coming up with.

Also, and not the person I quoted, the racism in this thread is really sad. I even saw the word ****ers. I'm not saying it's the N word, but it certainly implies it. Especially when you add in the rest of the posters post. This isn't doing any good. Jessica wasn't racist, and I don't think she would like the racism vibe surrounded by her death.

There are pages and pages filled with slight racist remarks. This is really making me ashamed of being a member of this community.

Quoting Urbandictionary, especially an entry from 2005 is not even logical. Couldn't you find a source from say...in the past 5 years? Once again, I have never heard cocaine being referred to as chicken.

BBM and I'm going to grab this right by the 🤬🤬🤬. The word I spelled out which started with an F, was automatically censored. I was furious with the two reporters and Ali Alsanai none of whom are black. Maybe that is the word you thought I typed but I guarantee you it sure as **** wasn't.

Meth is called chicken, no one I know ever referenced cocaine.
Educate yourself.

Apparently. Can't find the citation right off the top though.
Thanks carbuff I think she did. I believe that I have found what I was looking for.

We know they were waiting on autopsy results, for sure. Tox reports. DNA. They needed to determine type of accelerant used. They needed the info from her phone. All takes time. All i's dotted. All t's crossed. Thank goodness those other agencies ARE involved. Gives me hope this will be solved. I don't concern myself with the length of time it is taking. You have to be sure. But I also would never rule out police error. There are many cases where people get off on technicalities. And, sadly, sometimes the wrong people are imprisoned due to faulty police work, forced confessions...

there is just as much evidence that it is drugs as there is that it is chicken, which is to say - none.

I'm not typing asterisks. I have a colorful vocabulary when I'm angry, there seems to be an automatic censor feature that I trigger on occasion.

Apparently the censor feature works pretty well since I can't censor myself at times.

There is one other thing I do when angry or impatient, I hit Reply rather than Reply With Quote.

The local citizens elected him, not me. He's been saying murder and foul play since I first heard of this case, so I would be pretty surprised to hear evidence was destroyed or mishandled. Personally, I have yet to see any actual evidence a crime was committed.

I am from the south, have lived in the south for most of my life. I live in a very small town (bigger than 500 people but quite small). Everybody knows Everybody's business...If someone pulls up to the pumps for gas locals know if they are outsiders...they will ask the store attendant if they know them and either they are filled in on the who and what or they shrug and say must be passing through!! A good many people in this community know what happened to Jessica...or strongly suspect. Including local law enforcement. Proving it is probably the problem. My bet is that without strong dna evidence this case will just be talked about for a long time to come. And that MAY be the whole point of this murder to begin with.. a warning, to instill fear. jmo

a sheriff releasing key details in the early stages of an investigation to a a clerk before she is even pronounced dead at the hospital equals irresponsible in my book.

if that happened then i definitely agree.
same thing goes for what was allegedly said to the father.
it all sounds very odd and hard to believe but if it happened then that is wrong no doubt.

it is interesting that nobody seems to want to discuss the man found burned in his car not far away from this incident, on the side of the road, police calling it suspicious...
no thread for it, nobody really seems to be discussing it... i wonder why that might be...

We don't know that the Sheriff told AA anything. We know AA has claimed that at least twice now to my knowledge. If he HADNT said that, I wouldn't be questioning the local sheriff. It isn't my first instinct to criticize LE because my brother-in-law is a city police officer. Many of my colleagues are police officers. My best friend's husband is the chief of police for a rural community. Mostly, I back LE 100%. Just wanted to be clear. :)

I don't think he has a side. Imagine finding yourself accused of heinously murdering a 19 year old girl all over the internet, from political blogs to YouTube. IMO, he wants the truth but doesn't know it himself. If he doesn't talk to media, he looks guilty. If he does talk, he looks guilty. I think there is sufficient evidence that he was not with Jessica when she was burned.

"Altercation" is rather vague. It could be anything, from being upset that someone cut you off while pulling into a parking spot and mentioning it to a clerk or another customer, to a shouting match, to an all out brawl with punches thrown.

Same thoughts here as well concerning AA. The kid just can't win, he's a 19 year old kid. Hopefully he will learn to not have loose lips (only tell le what you know and not the whole world), watch what you write and the pictures you post on social media, and choose who your friends are people will associate what they are with who you are.

I'm abandoning my search on Kendrick's cousin for now. But if there is anyone interested: Jessica's alma mater football team (I believe) were called The South Panola "Tigers"

Exactly, monster! Bravo on the post! That is exactly why he should not be giving interviews. I do think there is a language barrier. I don't think English was the primary language spoken in his home. Jmo. He often struggles for the right words. This is why I feel the interview with that Tom Dees should have been edited. It was prejudicial.

I haven't heard of that. Do you have any links?
