There is an abundance of information on gangs available on the internet. I see absolutely no tie to a gang initiation with the brutal immolation of Jessica Chambers. We can cite reports from Houston, TX or West Monroe, LA or Southern California that may have similarities but this case is about Jessica Chambers and her horrific death in Panola County MS. JcMHO


Please allow me to thank each one of the many posters on this thread for being involved in helping to find connections, coincidences and clues. In no way, do I want to stop the ball from rolling. I truly appreciate every post, every opinion, every thought written. I may not agree with all of them but please do not allow my influence to keep you from researching any possible angle that may lead to an arrest of Jessica's killer or killers.

I would call Darby out on using gangs as a scapegoat for every nefarious crime he investigates. It's called 'blame game'. Sheriff Darby believes the 'solution' and 'problem' is blaming the area's illusive 'gang members' and he needs the trust (i.e. never mind numerous deaths by just driving into a tree or heart failure or hit by 4 bullets with no suspects or just a sudden death syndrom event)and help(huge reward) of the community. No murder (unless it is to his* advantage)is going to get solved as long as he is Sheriff of Panola & in charge of criminal investigations. My opinion only.

Shaundarrus Moore, 17, and his 26-year-old brother Lacardo are dead after Thursday night's gang involved shootings.


Champion said Thursday night's shootings were just the latest in a string of gang shootings in the area.
"I think, once the investigation and everything is complete, we're going to find it's the same two groups involved in everything," he said.


Darby said many residents are frightened but it's crucial for them to trust law enforcement by giving tips that can help keep families safe.


They're coming forward," he said. "They're concerned about their families now and they're seeing what's going on."
With help from Batesville police, and other agencies in Mississippi, Darby promises peaceful change.

** Sheriff Darby sounds more like he's a cheerleader rousing the community in Panola County to put their trust in him than orchestrating a vigorous crusade against violent gangs.

To a poster whom suggested possible suicide. Jessica did not buy accelerants at the gas station for personal use besides filling her tank. Also the car was uphill at some point which shows a struggle for the wheel or a deliberate means of getting off the road at that spot and moment.

So I doubt she was alone on that road. Jmo.

I don't think she committed suicide. But I don't find your arguments necessarily compelling. She might have already obtained the accelerants elsewhere and she did make sure the car was full of gas. She could easily have parked the car there herself.

I don't think it was suicide or accident but based on what little confirmed information we have, I don't see any way to rule it out, either.

As the article points out, suicide by fire is usually but not always a political statement or protest. They don't mention that it's sometimes an act of religious devotion, especially in certain Buddhist or Hindu traditions. When done for political reasons, it's usually quite public. Other cases seem to be trying to get attention.

There was a case here a few years back of a guy who burnt himself in his car to try to make it look like an accident rather than suicide, so his family could collect his insurance. He didn't die, and he went to jail for insurance fraud...

But I don't see any of those in Jessica's situation. The more I look at the other possibilities, the more it seems clear that she was killed by someone who hated her very, very much. But I don't think suicide can be ruled out either.

Thanks for the link, carbuff. If Jessica was part of that 1% of all suicides, it's hard for me to believe that local, state, and federal LE could convince their administrators to continue to fund an investigation that is now into its second year. Must have been thousands of man-hours, hundreds of thousands of dollars, already expended.

Although your article does raise an interesting point: could Jessica have been making a political statement or protest against the incompetence of local LE? Only kidding...

Our understanding of the initial timeline on Herron Road is almost completely due to social media & Ali! Who can possibly forget the still smoldering burned out photo of Jessica's Kia posed in front of the M&M. I think Ali forced the hands of some of the officers swore to follow protocol in the investigation at Jessica's crime scene. As the narration of events evolved it was immediately noted the chain of custody had been broken. To conclude the crime scene was not properly secured and processed & the reporting and narration of events on Herron Road were riddled with shrugs,oops,lapses,back tracking,holes big enough to drive a semi through,empty promises,lame excuses and grand standing of epic proportions. Please note this is 'My opinion only')

In fact I could make a case that the intent at Jessica's fiery crime scene ---was to be like so many other 'deaths' in Panola County ---a tragic 'accident'. You brought this to my mind in closing your above post reminding me of yet another tragic car 'accident' that took the life of Ben Chambers Jr.

Yeah, I think you're probably right about that.

We get a fair amount of gang stuff with burned and dismembered bodies and all the rest around New England. This does not seem like that.

Offtopic: I use an iPad I prefer using the web to view Websleuths. But,I am having so many problems with my screens updating using the Safari web browser that I installed the Taptalk App. If I were using a cell or tablet with a small screen perhaps Taptalk would be ideal. I sometimes use an iPad, too, Mizstery. I just open up a regular safari window to access WebSleuths. But I've found it is much faster and less distracting to stretch the thread portion full screen, so that there is no room for the ads scrolling along the right side. Less revenues for our hosts, I'm sure, but then they get our posts for free so I look at it as a quid pro quo.

I doubt that it was suicide either b/c according her mom, Jessica "was working and was doing good" before this. She was trying to take steps to better her life, not end it.

Yep, and since they are taking the states in alphabetical order, it'll take 'em quite a while to get to Mississippi. Then it's on to Canada. I guess the folks in the Yukon Territory can relax for quite a few years... MOO
