If I'm the family I'm actually quite thrilled the defense attorney screwed up three times like this.

The only thing better would be if the defense attorney referred to Tellis as "Eric Tellis."

This defense attorney just called her Erica Chambers three times now...just wow!

In the rebuttal I hope the prosecutor says "Her name is Jessica, not Erica."

I'll be surprised if the state doesn't say something...

Perfect.
And maybe, "His name is Quinton, not Eric."

Can the defense attorney's mistake of calling Jessica Ericka be used for an appeal if jury returns a guilty verdict ?

Oh my I am still stunned by this

Ineffective counsel I suppose.

No. Closing arguments are not considered evidence in a case. Plus, a slip of the tongue like that would not change the outcome of a verdict--the jury certainly knows the victim's name.

Q was a drug dealer. Did he have a street name?

Tellis could use that mistake as an appeal issue. Bad representation. Too bad. JMO
