Dang. RIP Katelyn. I'm just thankful that the perp decided to show them where she was rather than not cooperating and her family having to wait until someone happened to find her. At least this way her family can give her a proper goodbye. My prayers are with her family & friends.

Authorities have said (contained in the below article) that they have pulled several bags of her belongings and her clothing out of the woods. This would seem to support one of the rumors I had read that she had been trying to leave. There is more, but I'm treading lightly.

The suspect arrested in the case of Katelyn was also at the scene, in a police car. Items of clothing thought to belong to her were found first.

There was a large police and volunteer search presence, although volunteers left when this young girl's body was found.

Katelyn was only 17. The Amber Alert for her went out very late at night and woke a lot of people from sleep. I saw them remark on it on twitter. But it was so urgent - Katelyn had not only been abducted, but it was thought she had also been shot.

DeWayne Thompson has been arrested in connection with this case. I'll fetch a link for the story. I didn't realise we had so little info here.

I should probably stay off facebook, but the family was saying she was dead on the 31st, that's when the amber alert went out. They wouldn't have issued an amber alert if LE could tell by the amount of blood found that she was dead, right?

She was found about a mile from the site of her abduction. I was so hoping she might have been found badly injured, but alive. Here is Katelyn's photo from the alert. The Amber Alert is canceled now, obviously.

Having a teenage girl , this one hits close.
And to the perp, I don't often say thank you but you did the right thing helping LE find her. So, so , so
many others that are known deceased are still not found while the perp sits tight lipped in prison.
