The George County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a possible missing person. Kayla Crawford is described as a 31-year-old white female with reddish brown hair, blue eyes, with a height of 5'2" and weighing approximately 125lbs, with several tattoos on her left side.

Crawford was last seen at her home in the 2000 block of Tannertown Road in the Movella community of George County on Friday, March 24th, 2023. She may be in the company of a male nicknamed “Mann”.

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) — The George County Sheriff’s Office brought in K9 units over the weekend to help search for a woman who has been missing for two and a half months.

Kayla Crawford, 31, was last seen on March 24 at her home in the Movella Community. On Sunday, deputies and K9s searched the property that Crawford’s home sits on. Volunteers were also involved in the search.

Detective Dominique Tanner, an investigator on the case, said their detectives believe Crawford left her home on foot. Tanner and other investigators were hoping the K9s would hit on her scent. Nothing was found during this search. At the time Kayla went missing, detectives said they believed she could be in the company of a male nicknamed “Mann.”

Family members said they are grateful for everyone who has supported them over the past couple of months and to the investigators who are actively searching for her. Kayla’s family sent a statement to WKRG regarding the case.

"We miss her beyond measure- her four children, her family, her friends, as well as countless people who have never met her but who have responded to and shared her information. This is something no family should ever have to endure.

We are immensely grateful to the investigators for their continued work to locate Kayla. Everyone who has shared her story, called in with a tip, or reached out to the family to show support: thank you! We ask for your continued support in sharing Kayla’s pictures and information. Each share may be one step closer to finding her. I wonder about the person nicknamed Mann. Was it his last name? I feel like someone has to know more about his his identity, otherwise I feel like they would have just said his nickname is (the more commonly assumed spelling) Man.

Wow, they're already investigating as a homicide. For Kayla's family's sake, I hope we get some answers quickly.
 

LUCEDALE, Miss. (WKRG) — The George County Sheriff’s Office has an arrest warrant for first-degree murder for Jacob Kyle McIntosh, the husband of missing Movella woman Kayla Brooke Crawford, GCSO announced in a news release Friday afternoon. A member of Crawford’s family confirmed to WKRG News 5 that remains found in the Movella community are Crawford’s.

“Just thank you to everyone that shared our post, prayed for us and helped in the investigation. Pray for our family as we get through this difficult time,” said the family member.

Kayla Crawford, 31 was last seen on March 24 at her home in the Movella community. The George County Sheriff’s Office, K-9s and volunteers have been searching for her ever since. WKRG News 5 has reached out to GCSO to confirm that the remains are Crawford’s.

After months of searching and gathering evidence, the George County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for first-degree murder for McIntosh. McIntosh is about 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes. He also has several tattoos: “Kayla” on his chest, “Jace” on his stomach and “FTW” on his right arm.

GCSO said McIntosh may be driving a black 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 with Alabama license plate #180775M. The motorcycle is registered to Crawford. GCSO believes McIntosh may have access to firearms and “should be considered armed and dangerous.” GCSO advises against approaching McIntosh. Instead, they ask you contact law enforcement immediately if you see him.

SUSPECT WANTED FOR FIRST DEGREE MURDER

July 28, 2023
On March 31, 2023, the George County Sheriff’s Office took a report from family members of a missing person. Kayla Brooke Crawford (31) of Lucedale, MS, is described as a white female with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes, weighing approximately 125 pounds and standing approximately 5-feet-2-inches tall. Kayla also has several tattoos on her left side. The last contact her family had with her was in late March of this year. GCSO Criminal Investigators and Deputies have spent the time since that report following up on any and all leads in this case, including working with other jurisdictions to locate and question known associates of Ms. Crawford and her family.
Additionally, a ground search involving many different agencies was conducted in an attempt to locate the victim or any information as to her whereabouts.

After an extensive investigation, on Thursday, July 27th, 2023, George County Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for First Degree Murder for Kayla’s husband, Jacob Kyle McIntosh (32) of Lucedale, MS. McIntosh is described as a white male, approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. He has several tattoos, including the words “Kayla” on his chest, “Jace” on his stomach, and “FTW” on his right arm.

McIntosh may be driving a black 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 with an AL license plate #180775M, registered to Kayla Crawford. He may have access to firearms and should be considered armed and dangerous. If you encounter this individual, do not approach him and contact your local law enforcement office immediately. McIntosh has been entered as a Wanted Person on NCIC for this warrant, as well as a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Drug Court.

Sheriff Keith Havard would like to thank all those individuals and agencies that continue to assist in this investigation, and he commends the hard work and dedication of the Investigators and Deputies who have spent countless man-hours following leads and sifting through information.

A member of Crawford’s family confirmed to WKRG News 5 that remains found in the Movella community are Crawford’s.

A Mississippi sheriff’s department searching for a missing woman since March has now arrested her husband for murder. According to George County Sheriff Keith Havard, Jacob Kyle McIntosh, 32, of Lucedale, was arrested Monday with the assistance of the Mobile County, Ala., sheriff’s department.
