The Batesville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 47-year-old Larry James Robinson Jr., who has been reported missing.

Robinson, described as a 6-foot-tall man weighing approximately 200 pounds.

Robinson was last seen on January 22.

“He and I, we’ve always been close,” said his mother Rosetta Robinson. “He’s a momma’s boy. He would always come by to check on me.”

One of those tips led investigators to a spot along Barnacre Road in Panola County. They brought search teams, cadaver dogs, boats, and even drones to search a pond and a large wooded area, but nothing turned up.

A skull (or part of one) not yet identified as human was found by a dog near Barnacre Road. Further search found other remains and articles of clothing in Panola County, MS. The sheriff’s office said in a post on social media that remains found on Barnacre Road in May were tested at the State Medical Examiner’s office and are consistent with matching the DNA to Larry Robinson Jr, 47.
