These parents are also older. Mom is a year older than me (thirty-eight). I don't get a careless vibe from them. Maybe a different, careFREE parenting vibe, but not young, just-want-to-party-Casey-Anthony kind of vibe. I pray I am right about that.

Where my husband grew up in rural MS, they either went to Hattiesburg or Mobile for groceries. My BILs and SILs that live there still do. They have a closer, local grocery that has a 1/4 of the selection at 300% mark up in price. People who do not live in these situations do not understand driving "into town" for supplies. But hey....at least we don't have to still hitch up the wagon.

I drive half an hour to my grocery store. small price to pay, I love living in the woods with only a few neighbors scattered acres away!!

Just so everyone knows, we do have some great shopping here. I have every convenience I could want where I live and there are other towns and cities who have the same. The difference here is that there is lots of rural area in between. We love our state and it actually is a great place to live. Shhh! Don't tell anyone. We like to keep that a secret. :)

I don't live in those situations, but totally get it. Many people get it. [modsnip]

I did a Google search and there is a Super Wal-mart about 30 mins away, according to Google maps. So, speculating that someone with that many kids might go to a Wal-Mart to shop, that would be an hour drive time. I don't know about any of you, but I could totally blow 3 hrs at a Wal-Mart, especially if I didn't get to go there very often(without a bunch of kids in tow). . .plus you have to go through check-out, load your groceries, etc.

And with it being the first of the month, Walmart would have been packed.

I will be shocked if it gets live coverage, unless they have actually found Myra. I'm looking, but haven't found anything yet. I'm keeping my eye on twitter.

If I wasn't such a law abiding member (who is terrified of Nurse and Kimster....)
I would say something REALLY bad right now! :tantrum:
WHY isn't she all over the news. I understand the mayor died... but come on people. :banghead:

I envy you. Would love to live in the woods with little to zero neighbors. :seeya:

Please let this be like that recent baby whose mama's crazy relative took off with him. Please let Myra be temporarily separated!

My cousin is commander over MHP Troop J in Jackson. Let me assure you that if he is on this task, his fatherly heart will do all it possibly can to find Myra.

I keep praying that some sweet, little ole grandma picked her up and they are happily baking cookies and eating toasted cheese. Grandma is just one of those ole folks that is totally clueless that Myra is missing. I know, that's a total long shot, but I can hope. :praying:

Myra is just so darn cute! Too me, she looks so precocious. I just hope she's safe and this is one of those stories they can tell years from now.

Hi all....I have been lurking and hoping Myra will be found quickly. Im in Alabama and havent seen any reporting on her disappearance :(

I dont find the long trip to the store unusual. We drive 45 mins to do bulk shopping and me and DD sometimes make a day of it if we have other errands to run.

While searching for a live link, I found this:
http://www.wjtv.com/story/24872095/myra-lewis-case-classified-as-abduction

...they are calling off the search... The Madison County Sheriff's Department confirms to WJTV News Channel 12 that Myra's case has now been ruled as an abduction and that they are calling off the search for her

That was yesterday. They are still looking for her and said they are exploring all options until they can conclude what happen to her. The family has said it is an abduction, LE has not said. Links above. Pictures above show LE on its way out moments ago searching.

That is dated yesterday and it turned out they didn't call off the search, just halted it to regroup. They are searching again now.

That's from yesterday. They corrected the statement about calling off the search.

ETA: lol. I am slow! Already addressed above. : )

I'm also somewhat local, give or take an hour south. Was born and raised in the surrounding area. :seeya: Quill. I don't post much but have been following cases here for many years. Usually running behind real time posts because of work. Praying for this precious girl's safety. Anxiously awaiting press conference. Seems to be alot of movement today. Hope that means good news.
