Still Missing MS - Robert "Bruce" Hariel, 37, Perkinston, 11 Jan 2019 *Arrest*

I am anxious to hear more about this arrest. I listened to a podcast regarding another missing man from Purvis, MS and am curious if there are any overlaps in the personal circumstances of the missing men. Not necessarily linking the men but wondering about similar past

I would love to be able to talk with someone about this, but wow, it is just too much to type,lol. I believe in my heart, that Mr Hendrix is guilty. And he has brainwashed my daughter into believing he's innocent. She has always let him walk all over her, and the grandkids, and it makes me sick to my stomach! She has Cerebral Palsy and is blind in one eye, and legally blind in the other. He married her because of her ssi check. He has brow beaten her, cheated on her, taken food out of her and the childrens mouths, and for what you ask? Drugs!
I apologize, I shouldn't be getting into all this on this website. I am just terrified of what may happen. And I have no one to talk to about this. Again, I apologize and will stay on the subject.
Word on the street is that he got Bruce out of the house for Dewayne. Supposedly Bruce stole a gun from Dewayne, and promised Chris some free drugs if he got him for him. Chris having been awake for 3 or 4 days and nights, actually did it! When he took him to Dewaynes at 3 in the morning, he(Dewayne) told Chris to get him the hell off his property, Chris didn't know what to do, it was getting close to daylight, so he shot him(Bruce) in the back, disposed of him. Then drove out to Texas to kill me( because I took my daughter and grandchildren away from him and that hellhole they were living in). He got angry because his power got turned off, and had no groceries, or a warm place to sleep. Because my daughter wasn't there to pay the bills with her check. ( He hadn't worked in at least 6-7 years) So he was just gonna shoot me I guess, and take them back. What stopped him was he had told several people what his plans were, thank God they called the local police, who in turn called me and the police where we were living at in TX!

Thank you so much. I am in regular contact with the head detective on this case.( My son in law tells my daughter that she and I are "in cahoots" trying to frame him, and she believes him! I honestly think she may have that Stockholm syndrome thing!) In the meantime my daughter won't speak to me or let me see the grandchildren, because HE tells her not to. My heart is broken in two, and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it! Before this, we were extremely close, talking everyday, and even keeping the babies for a month at a time over the summer. The oldest grandbaby turns 9 Tuesday, and I can't even wish him a happy birthday

A grand jury indicted Christopher Hendrix on a first-degree murder charge in the disappearance of Robert Bruce Hariel.

Stone County investigators will not say if they ever found Hariel’s body. However, a grand jury determined they had enough probable cause to link Hendrix to murder.

This dated article gives lots of details about the circumstances surrounding Bruce's disappearance. Hopefully the recent legal activity will help bring answers to where his remains are so he can be returned home to his loved ones, if Bruce hasn't been located yet.

Detail surrounding Hariel disappearance brought to light

Dwaine Rogers, Jr., a 41-year-old Perkinston resident, appeared before Stone County Justice Court Judge Ricky Farmer Wednesday for a preliminary hearing on a charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Rogers was arrested April 11 in connection with the January disappearance of 38-year-old Robert Bruce Hariel.

Combined with the arrest Tuesday evening of 35-year-old Christopher Hendrix, the hearing revealed the most information available to the public since the investigation was begun.

Stone County Sheriff’s Department investigator Amanda Schonewitz testified as to the evidence that had been gathered and was considered probable cause for Rogers’ arrest. That evidence included interviews, a security-camera video and text messages exchanged between Rogers and Hendrix.

Hendrix Pleads to Lesser Charge in Missing Stone Co. Man Case

A suspect in the case of a missing Stone County man pled guilty to one charge of manslaughter last month.

Christopher Robert Hendrix was originally arrested in January 2020 in connection with the disappearance of Robert Bruce Hariel.

In January [2023], Hendrix was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping.

The Stone County Circuit Court Judge severed the case between Hendrix and Rogers, so both suspects will be tried separately.

Hendrix will be sentenced at a later court date, which has yet to be announced.

Rogers has been out on bond and is awaiting a court date as well.
