My first thought was drugs, but that doesn’t really fit with being organized enough to put the baby’s things at the curb. Now I’m guessing a psychotic break. That poor child...

Well, I now have a million more questions and thoughts but those are not for here.
Does the house have two front doors? I’m confused, it looks more like a duplex than a single family dwelling.
The snake incident is bizarre.
So very sad
The Delta is most definitely a very different kind of place and the good people there are hurting over this. Respectfully, please do not use this brush to paint an entire geographic area. This case is horrific enough to see on the local news right now. Good, bad, ugly and evil reside everywhere have I have ever lived.
Linked in the dictionary with the term "macabre."
The South itself is a dire place, deep and dark. And the Delta? Hoooo, child.
I completely agree. I live in the Delta, and just a few miles from where this happened. People are devastated.
Respectfully, this sounds like something from a novel. I live in the Delta, and it certainly has its issues, but it is no worse and no better than any other place.
I have lived in several different areas of the U.S., though born and raised in MS and came "home" to raise my children here. I am not in the Delta, but I have friends and family who live up there. We all just normal people living normal lives. This nightmare is in no way normal for us down here and until something this atrocious happens, no one ever thinks it could happen where they live.
@Not a Belle , have you heard any more local news or anything that you can share with us here?
Do you have a link?
