MSM coverage of Baby Lisa, 11/14/11

BBM. It's not clear to me he is involved. It's clear because he may or may not have gotten a call from one of DB's cell phones? And all this info. is coming from a couple people that lived in a meth/flop house? I'll wait for more info. before I implicate him in a baby kidnapping.

I did not say he was involved in a baby kidnapping. But he is clearly involved in the phone fiasco.

Okay, mind -- I have officially lost it.

Can someone clear up things for me?

I thought that the people in the house with MW said that "nobody in the house used or has ever used MW phone" -- we got that statement over, and over from people in the house.

Now, today, I am seeing this video report that someone in the house DID use her phone? And now that person is missing/took off?

*head scratch*

I seem to recall that the quote was more like: all the people in the house didn't SHARE one phone, which is what was originally implied by MW. I don't think anyone ever said that no one else would ever use MW's phone. MOO because I don't have the links handy.

Just some thoughts on the 11:57pm call to MW's phone.....
According to MW, she had this phone number for 4 or 5 months. This would be during the time that she was living with Jersey.
Jersey is know in the Irwin neighborhood as a homeless handyman and did work there.

Possible, Jersey used MW's phone number to give people to call if they needed any work done. It may be that DB or JI knew Jersey in the handyman capacity and put the phone number in their phones to call if they wanted him to do some work for them.

Now, DB wants to call JI because she hasn't heard from him and he didn't come home by 10:30pm when she expected him. In her stupor, she tried to call Jeremy (work #) and when listing contacts alphabetically, she went one name down to far and it pulled up Jersey (MW) and that is who she called.

I personally believe the call never went through to MW's phone but went to the Verizon service center. It would still show as a number called on DB phone but would not show where it eventually ended up being answered.

I don't think the call went through either. And I like this theory too. So it's possible that DB didn't even know she dialed the wrong number. It just went to the call center.

BUT why then make all the attempts later to get on the internet? One could surmise that she was in a panic, and trying anything at all to reach JI, even using the internet to make contact. BUT (again) why not try the other phones too? (and maybe she did, maybe we just don't know enough about call history on the other phones yet)

But remember - she had three phones. 2 were restricted (confirmed by LE), but the third phone was borrowed from (someone's dad/grandfather?). No one has said which phone made the calls. It COULD have been the third (borrowed) phone, in which case, it's very possible that the call(s) and/or VM(s) actually connected.

Deb got the loaner phone from her dad on Sunday at the birthday party. Chances of her provider switching the # over on Monday when they were being cut off seems to me slim to none.

That's a good possibility too. :)

More thoughts: if she was programming the borrowed phone, and that was the one she used, the call could have gone through. But then, why the 50-second call? And why would Dane have wiped all her history off the phone when he returned it?

Or it could have been "pocket dialed" by the kidnapper. Though that seems unlikely, since it would probably have dialed the last number, if anything - and what are the chances that it just happened to call a phone with a serious criminal on the other end?

The call is reported to be on DB's number. So it wouldn't matter which actual phone was used (broken one or borrowed one). If it was the borrowed one she would have had to already transfered her number to that phone.
A 50 second call could occur if the call went to the service center and DB listened to the whole recording to pay her bill!!
Dane seems to be an unsavory character in all this so it wouldn't surprise me that he would delete all history on the phone. He surely didn't want anyone to have information on his contacts.

No pocket dial for me either.

There is a link over in last night's Websleuth Radio Thread where you can listen to last night's show. Both Ron and Jim have talked with MW a lot and discuss her phone on the show. I think it will help clear up things for you.

If we believe JI that he tried to call DB and got the "not operable" message it could be because the phones were on the counter turned off and not even charging. If she used her phone at 11:57pm it could be she plugged hers in and charged it when she went in at 10:30 but didn't charge the others?????

moo: The 50 second call = when someone tried calling MW's phone, it 'cut out' (since it's broken) and it took a few seconds for the caller to realize??

Dane has been reported to have been involved in some illegal activities as per MW -- there are numerous reasons he wiped her phone and possibly had nothing to do with DB's phone calling MW's.

**from previous post - Jim Spellman and Ron Rugan both stated last night that the 'house' is not a drug house, def. not a meth house and not even a flop house, but a 'helping hand' house..

Kansas City,MISSOURI - Kansas City Police say a they can't find, but want to talk to a new witness that surfaced regarding the mystery phone calls made from one of the missing phones at the home of Baby Lisa.

The man police want to talk with had custody of the phone that received the mystery call the night Baby Lisa disappeared, according to Megan Wright, the phone's owner.

"We’d like to talk to him. He’s not a suspect, just another person believe might have some information we can use," said Kansas City Police Capt. Steven Young. "Nothing more, or different from the long list of people we’ve spoken to."

bbm...MW has said in her interviews that when LE returned her phone to her, the history logs had been cleared.

I have not seen any reports by MW that the phone's history was also wiped out when dane returned her phone to her. Do you have any info on that?

But we don't know when the phones were disposed of or why. It's possible that DB dumped hers or all 3 in the garbage on the wine store run earlier in the day for some unknown crazy reason.
But then a call couldn't have been made when they were. And it would have had to be in the garbage close enough for somebody to find with the 1/3 mile that the phones were pinging at 3am.

What is a "helping hand" house? Like a halfway house? Where I am there are halfway houses for inmates being released back into society and there are halfway houses for people coming out of rehab to ease back into society. Both of these are monitored with staff on hand at all times. There are room checks and you have to be in by a certain time. There are also drug screenings and you are "evicted" for a failure.

Do we know that the Dad (or phone owner) didn't give her a phone that was active? I know that if my child were without a phone, I would give her a working one of mine so she would have an emergency phone, until she could get service back. Maybe it was a prepaid with some minutes left? Who knows?

Two people have said that he had the phone.

Right, MW and the hidden identity guy. I take what they say w/ a grain of salt. IMO, It's terribly convenient to throw Dane (whom no one can find) under the bus since he's not around to say different.

sorry, 'helping house' were my words, Jim and Ron explained that the owner of the house would let people who were down on their luck stay there to get back on their feet. With the economic times etc...people just needing a helping hand and turn helped them too...

What the heck? They want to find him, they want to talk to him, but they are not giving the public his name? How do they plan to find him if he's left town, or doesn't really want to be found?
