Found Deceased MT - Amy Harding-Permann, 34, Great Falls, 26 Jan 2020

This morning neighbors weren't willing to go on camera, but they did have some interesting news. One neighbor says she heard her dogs barking around the same time Amy went missing. She said it was quite odd for them to be barking at that time of night for no reason.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Yesterday Amy assaulted her boyfriend John VanGilder right before she left.
Today John is telling us there were no serious injuries, but wouldn't go into details.
John also says that sheriffs found her phone at the house and now has it in their custody.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
A lot of people have asked is their foul play be involved here. Sheriff Slaughter says that in a case like this there will always be cause for suspicion.
Sheriffs are now looking for the communities help in the search for Amy Hardings
Is the Sheriff referring to Domestic Violence when he says "in a case like this"?

I'm not assuming the story is accurate, katy. I had the same feeling I did when Shanann was missing without her purse, phone, keys, etc. MOO
And Kelsey Berreth, leaving her car and her child behind.

I wondered about her state of mind as well. Is it possible there was a breakup, she didn't take it well, and threatened to hurt herself on the way out the door? I also don't think the 8,000 SF home is hers, she may be living there, but I think it's likely his home. Small detail, but the media keeps referring to it as "her home".

That brings me to whether Amy's son lives there also? There were several pictures of Amy & JV on her facebook page from 2018, but they trailed off in 2019. Trouble in the relationship lately?

There's just not a lot of places Amy could have went to on foot out there. I'm really hoping this was not a case of self-harm :(

I just don't see this as a self harm case.
Amy has two sons who are still in school and by all appearances she is an involved and devoted mom.
Nursing is a stressful profession but she is an OR nurse and most likely has a M-F schedule.

... and OR nurses keep their **** together. I don’t think this is self harm, either. Even Alex Holden had his phone. No one leaves their phone.

Cause for suspicion, yes, there is cause for suspicion. I’m only speaking for myself, here, but if it were me and I was mad at my boyfriend and threw a box of cereal at him (or something), if I were going to leave (even spur of the moment) I’d make sure to grab my phone and a coat. Especially in those temps. I’d also have my keys to get into my car that has a heater.

Never would I run off in thin clothes, no phone, etc. it seems very suspicious.
Exactly. I have stormed off, and even if I am really steamed, I am grabbing a few essentials so I can stay gone for awhile. Coat, keys, wallet, phone, and then slam the door on the way out.

Only way someone wouldn't grab that stuff is if they felt in physical danger, IMO. Or if they were unconscious?

I have known 3 OR nurses in my life, and 2 OR doctors. They are all very calm in emergencies, obviously. They could handle stress and sort things out.

Even if she got angry and scuffled with her boyfriend, I think she'd grab her coat and cell before she stormed out.

Exactly!!!

My only other theory is that he pushed her out the door and locked her out after she assaulted him... so she was unable to get her things. Then this would be a tragedy :(

I don't know, I'm getting the opposite vibe from you. I'm sensing Amy may have been experiencing some problems.

Me as well - I think we won’t be surprised -again- curious if he has cameras and if so what did they show??

Any particular reason, Knox? If it can be shared here, of course. MOO

Something is up in this case! Just not buying the story as it is being told.

How far is the closest neighbor? It looks very desolate around this house.

Could it be the boyfriend, a neurosurgeon, think he would never be suspected due to his “title”?

My opinions only.

You took the words right out of mouth! Did they Not already state the river is frozen over? If frozen hardly believe she's in the water. Just my thoughts. Were the kids in the home when this fight took place?

Lots of friends (and her old prom date) are worried about her they’ve been posting a lot. What the prom date says is interesting, though, IMO.

Can you say where?

This. Last Saturday night in Great Falls, MT, it was a low of 27, with windchill down to making it feel like 15. No matter how mad I would be at anyone, I am not going to storm out of the house, without a coat, and car keys, in that weather.

Nothing concrete, just a vibe from her public facebook posts (2015 coming forward). I should have clarified my previous post to say I think the relationship is her issue. Maybe she expected a ring over the past four years, or the promise of something more. Maybe he strung her along and it's not a healthy relationship. Maybe they work at the same hospital and the problems are also affecting her work life. All pure supposition on my part ... but even if partially true, it could impact someone's mental health. Even a nurse ...

Yesterday I was trolling through her Facebook an found her Moms Facebook. She posted a pic of her daughter an child when the grandchild was a infant an captioned "The one on left is getting married soon, on the right will be the maid of honor."
Her Mother posted that a week before her disappearance.

I'm willing to give the boyfriend the benefit of the doubt, except for one nagging question. Per the Zillow link, the river is maybe 30 strides from the house. If she walked "in the direction of the river", you could see her walk every step of the way from the house. You could easily see if she ended up in the river or not. Maybe he was shocked that she assaulted him and didn't feel like following her, who knows, but that detail is strange.

Maybe she’s hiding out cuz she assaulted him and is now afraid she’ll get arrested so she’s staying gone. JMO
