So, do they think that Amy went into icy cold water? That river is actually the Missouri river, about 50 miles north of Great Falls, is the furthest west steamboats could go on the Missouri river, at Fort Benton, then the river has 5 falls.
I personally wouldn't jump in that river, our dogs used to jump in there all of the time to catch sticks. It doesn't go too fast this time of year. And it isn't that deep. Although, I guess anyone can drown in shallow water.
Here is the depth, the flow rate is very slow this time of year, no run off, and ice in areas.
