Found Deceased MT - Amy Harding-Permann, 34, Great Falls, 26 Jan 2020

These are my thoughts:

When someone calls 911, they are in fear. Was her boyfriend in fear? He is much larger than her. It seems strange to me that he said she was specifically “headed toward the river”. Where are the entrances to the house? Does the front or back door face the river? If he was watching her out the window, it was very dark, are there lights that are bright he’d be able to see her?

911 is used when there is an actual emergency. He is a surgeon, she is a respected OR nurse. I’d like to know if the assault on him was extremely serious that would warrant that kind of call.

IMHO nothing about this sounds right, and it could be the news reporting very limited information. Really wish we had more details.

Sheriffs are now looking for the community's help in the search for Amy Hardings
John told us there were no serious injuries, but wouldn't go into details.

It was found at the house and LE have it. Let me see if I can find a link. MOO
Will be interesting to see the data they have on her phone.
Wonder where it pinged all day?

  • #223
I wonder where her purse is.

  • #224
Do we actually know the boyfriend was the one who phoned the police? Could have been a neighbour who heard a commotion?

  • #225
If there was a weapon shown or used, that could constitute assault.
If she had pulled a weapon on him , LE would have announced it publicly. They'd say to the searchers, she may be armed with knife or a gun, please do not approach.
In fact, they probably would not have asked for volunteers to search for her, if they thought she was armed.

If she had pulled a weapon, there'd be massive LE turnout and it would have been a different search than we see now, IMO.

I wonder where her purse is.
... and her car keys and coat and everything else someone would grab when leaving their home. In fact, when a purse, phone, and keys are left in most the cases we see, what’s the outcome?

Yes, listen to the first press conference. He called to report that she assaulted him. MOO

I have to question his motive behind that call. Did she truly assault him, or did she shove him or slap him in anger, after seeing a shady text from someone on his cell, kind of thing?

I'm guessing the phone stayed at home all day Sunday.

I have a feeling we're not going to get an answer to that question unless they find something on her phone but I'm thinking along those lines. Maybe a frying pan. MOO

Katie Sepich got into a fight with her boyfriend and left the party she was attending without her purse, keys and cell phone and decided to walk the 4 blocks home when a stranger saw her walking in her neighborhood and ended up raping and strangling her back in 2003.

Also noting from these photos that the river is NOT completely frozen over.

This is my first post. I live in this area, and you are correct. In the areas it IS frozen, it isn't thick and people have been falling into the water this winter while recreating. This is an unseasonably warm winter for us.

I am a Great Falls native, was a childhood acquaintance of Amy, and Dr. VanGilder has assessed me and my husband for neurological spine conditions. I am not an "insider" per se, but have some insight into the area, mostly.

I guess the majority I see end up not intentionally leaving their belongings.

Thanks for sharing this, keeps me more open minded. Anything could’ve happened.

I have heard nice things about them both.

See attached photo
This does not appear to be Dr. VanGilder, imo. I have been a patient of his.

<modsnip: > He is very diligent and professional at work and wears bow ties, which was endearing. He does not strike me as someone that is very affectionate, especially in photos or in instances of PDA.

They both have to be very intelligent, meticulous, and sanitary to hold the jobs they have

Welcome! The group previously concluded that the man pictured is not Dr. VanGilder.

I don't know, the weather was great today. Maybe, they received some additional information, that has changed the direction of the investigation. That is what it sounded like to me, from the Sheriff's news conference.

"Assessment of data"...hmmm...

Will continue to be great weather conditions for searching. 50's this weekend.

This is exceptionally rare in Great Falls, she is a lifelong native of GF, connected to our only hospital, and they have been pressured by family and friends.

A search this quickly would be typical given the circumstances.

There is a lot of open land in the area. The river, is so intensely managed from Great Falls, with numerous dams, that a body would be found pretty quickly INMO, in the river, especially with it being relatively low and slow this time of year.

But, the rest of the area? Lots of space, even close to town.
Unfortunately we have bodies removed from the dams on a yearly basis, it seems.
