This story was on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt last night. I’m surprised there’s no more info out about who the mother is and how this person came into possession of the child. It could have been a tragedy. Thank God for the officer hearing his cries.

Tuesday, July 10th:
*Hearing – MT – 5 mos old baby boy (July 7, 2018-found alive in woods after 9 hours) – Francis Carlton Crowley (32) arrested & charged (7/7/18) with criminal endangerment & additional charges will follow. $50K bond.
Baby was left in his care on Sat. 7/7/18; is a fugitive from Oregon-was under post-prison supervision for several counts of burglary & 1 count of criminal mischief.

They only have property records online. Everything else (civil and criminal) is not online. You have to mail in request for copies of the records but it seems you found when the next hearing is. Oops edited to say you found the hearing from yesterday. I can’t seem to find any further info yet. Will keep looking.

The baby's mother says she's known Crowley for three years and that he came to Montana to get away from what she called a bad crowd in Oregon.

The baby drank a whole bottle of Pedialyte in under a minute, then drank two more, said Missoula County Sheriff's Capt. Bill Burt. The baby's tiny, dirty hand grasped Burt's finger with surprising strength, then he fell soundly asleep as hospital officials hooked him up to an IV, Burt said.

Crowley told investigators he left the boy in the woods after crashing his car because the baby was heavy, according to court records. He appeared in Missoula County Justice Court from jail by video, and he broke down repeatedly as he heard the allegations against him.

Crowley doubled over, then fell to the floor and covered his face with his hands, sobbing. He exclaimed twice, "I love that f------ kid," and implored the judge not to take him away.

Crowley did not enter a plea during the court hearing. Judge Marie Andersen set bail at $200,000 and scheduled his next court date for July 25.

I don’t know how I managed at 17 to carry my son, groceries up 6 flights of stairs, back down with my son and up again with a folded stroller and my son.

WHY isn't this woman being charged with CHILD ENDANGERMENT? That was the most asinine CYA statement I've ever heard.

One bill creates the crime of criminal child endangerment if a person causes substantial risk of death or serious injury to a child under 14 years of age. It would punish those who drive drunk with a child in the car, fail to get medical care for an apparent life-threatening condition, place a child in the care of a known abuser, deal dangerous drugs with children in the home, or fail to provide proper nutrition. Someone found guilty could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $50,000.

"In Montana, if you hurt a child, you will be punished," said Sen. Mitch Tropila, D-Great Falls.

I’m kind of thinking the baby boy is this guys child. The mom seemed to almost talk about him like he was the Dad without actually saying it. Idk just a impression I got from watching the entire long interview. There’s got to be more I feel like they are hiding something . The protecting herself by being blurred out. She vanished herself her mom had reported her missing. I don’t know it gives me a weird feeling.

Yes, it was a miracle. Thank goodness LE did not give up searching!! But my concern is why the child was ever put in that situation, and what the future holds for him. Will he put put in another life threatening/harmful situation again with a different "friend" that Mom has known for "three years"? We are talking about a five-month old child! Mom said when she kissed the baby goodbye before she sent him off with Mr. Meth-Head, she sensed something might happen. Ughh ... I'm seriously worried about this child's future.
