GUILTY MT - Beverly, 79, Gregory Giannonatti, 57, murdered, Deer Lodge, 24 Oct 2015

Could it be that the burglary was reported very late on Nov 1, just before midnight, and a patrol car responded, then realized it was the house of the missing persons and called Chief Johnson out of bed who then arrived early morning on Nov 2?

One is a statement by Police Chief Johnson and the other is a statement by Sheriff Howard.

The sheriff knows who broke into Greg's house. A local meth user broke in looking for drugs and has been bragging around town about it. The sheriff is aware of the guy but nothing has been done, he has not been detained.

Thanks Deerlodgelifer. I thought maybe the break-in was not related to his disappearance. Just some criminal taking advantage of the fact that nobody was in the house.

How are you doing? Is the community getting back to normal after this tragedy?

Deer Lodge is still reeling. Last week marked the 3rd anniversary of the death of a beloved business owner who was murdered by her husband. And then earlier this year a man murdered his family of 4 and then committed suicide. Until the aforementioned incidents, in the decades I have lived here there was only 1 homicide. No one knows what to do or think. Hopefully when they lay Bev and Greg to rest there will be some sort of closure.
I don't think the break in at Greg's was connected to his disappearance. It seems to be someone hoping Greg had prescription drugs in his house. Greg had disabling injury which caused his retirement and return to Deer Lodge.

Charges are expected to be filed on the double homicide charges in connection with the deaths of Beverly Giannonatti and Greg Giannonatti in Powell County within the next week. More information will be released at that time.

Oh yes....and the article above does say they believe the two were killed on October 25th. We have seen that date in the court documents as well.

The court document said the 25th also. At the time, I wondered how that could be?

ETA: I don't think it said the 25th of October but said September. I went back to look it up to be sure about it. Here is the link the petition:

This is either a case where people reporting having seen them were mistakenly off on the dates, or the perp is off on his dates. If his dates are accurate that roast was in that cooker a long time and those poor dogs.... This is a very evil man, and I will follow this until his conviction, I hope he rots....those poor people...just no words...IMHO
