That is a normal school situation. And let the school determine what discipline is appropriate. Maybe a change in placement.

It would be interesting to know if JAH was identified as "disabled" and if he had an IEP. Rural schools in Montana have had some problems with following IDEA, public law 94-142. The law for special education services for children with disabilities.

There have been some severe irregularities in rural areas, with providing a Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) for children with disabilities. This may have some further implications. But I am pretty sure that no one will stir that up. The Office of Public Instruction (OPI) could probably look at the student record.

I would be interested in looking at JAH's school records.

Prosecutors detail allegations in 12-year-old's torture, death

This verifies what I surmised. JAH was recieving $725 a month in Social Security benefits. That is why they kept him. He was a check.

Monday is the court date for Roush. March 9, 2020.

This woman is absolutely evil. Reading what she has said, does PB have a clue about how repugnant she is? Apparently they are thinking about the death penalty for PB.

The principal of the school verified that JAH was disabled. But that he could not recall any incident with JAH and a girl at school.

PB is a "poster" example for the death penalty. I would have zero problems with voting for that for PB. She comes off as the meanest, most vile woman.

"That is what they do to cats". WTH? JAH lived a horrible existence. He tried to run away, and no one helped him. He was completely powerless. At least his suffering is over.

Looks like Madison maybe charged as well.

"Police said in charging documents that Alex’s aunt messaged her boyfriend that Alex was like “a piece of (expletive) off of my (expletive) shoe” and that she wished Alex would “die in the woods.”

That was most extremely painful to read. Alex was trying to run away. A neighbor witnessed the Aunt, Grandmother, and Uncle chasing him and punching him.............but, alas, they did not call authorities. The school official says Alex had severe ADHD but was improving and denies that Alex groped a girl. Did PB have the credentials for home schooling? Doubtful. It's clear to me that Grandma kept Alex for the monthly check. The more I hear about this tragedy the more angry I become. There are several people in that town that need to do some real soul searching. There is a paramount difference between being a nosey neighbor and protecting the best interest of a child. That child had no one in his corner. No one in that town and no one back in Texas. He died, alone, confused, scared and in massive pain. Let the memory of Alex's last months become an emboldened fire in the hearts of those that should have helped and drive them to make a positive difference in a life in their own community. And let that fire spread.

Well said, as always @mickey
No I don’t think PB realizes how the world sees her. She’s a mess. Again, they are all so matter of fact, like “yeah, we beat him....”. PB ran a dysfunctional household prior to JAH moving in, imo. His check gave PB & Madison more spa days (per their FB) and Alex couldn’t eat.
I think the abuse escalated after he was pulled from school. I don’t think he went to school for two years covered with bruises, abrasions & suffering from malnutrition. To be clear, #3 has a few photos on his FB showing JAH looking like a happy boy. Once he was pulled from school, PB had no break from him. I think we will learn she suffers from substance abuse problems.
Shame on SSA for not doing a review of Alex’s case.
I so hope Madison is charged. She should not walk away from this with her perfect manicure unscathed. Moo

Dear Lord ! Cannot imagine what this young man went through every stinking day with the soulless humans in that house. MOO Thanks for updates. Sitting on hands today . No one anywhere thought any thing was hinky ?????

One good thing, it appears PB will not put up much of a defense, kinda like she knows her gig is up. Usually a defendant doesn’t share as much with LE, imo. You know, they prefer the DA to “prove” charges. The articles we read make her sound like Chatty Cathy. I hope she keeps chatting. She allowed her entire family to be destroyed for $725 a month.

I hope PB is getting a lot of hate mail. Something to bide her time.

I seem to remember a person posting on here that claimed to have knowledge of the family dynamic in Texas etc. Didn’t that person state that Tommy committed suicide?? The news reports he died of infections caused from his accident.

No............that relative did not say anything about how TT died. IMO

@Dave F. One article stated PB could receive the DP if convicted. That the judge would determine her sentence. Did I misread? Lol.

Since PB and a neighbor confirmed Madison abused Alex, why has she not been arrested?

@mickey2942 when a jury is selected in MT are they unaware of the sentence the defendant might get?

I am not really sure. I have never been called for jury duty. I don't think that they know what the sentence is, not even the accused knows that. There was a trial here awhile back, the accused confessed to a guilty plea, thought that he was going to get a suspended sentence, but a judge changed the sentence to 5 years in prison.

None of these people should get any type of deal. They all deserve prison.

As I mentioned above one article mentions PB could get the DP, if found guilty. Upon researching MT law, it looks like the judge alone imposes sentence. Absolutely they all deserve harsh prison sentences. I’m really upset to think Madison is out running around, being a typical teen, even though she abused Alex.

Felonies in Montana range from deliberate murder—the most serious felony crime in the state—to sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, robbery, and criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. The following are specific examples of felonies and the possible penalties under Montana law:

I think Madison was as abusive as JS Jr., or even more so.
No one has said they observed Jr. abusing Alex, not even PB has incriminated him.

he was drawing as a beneficiary from Tate, per report, not as a disabled person.
