Not sure about his family connections... but since his grandma and girlfriend were so broken up and tearful for him in the interview --maybe they should come up with the cash ?
Grandma said she hoped this would be a turning point for Gage and that he can grow up.

Seriously I could never defend and 'cry' for someone who helped abuse an innocent boy and who said nothing when he was murdered.

He publicly defended the family that tortured JAH. That was before the videos of the abuse surfaced.

West Yellowstone man accused of assaulting 12-year-old boy pleads not guilty

March 10, 2020

BOZEMAN — Gage Roush of West Yellowstone pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in Gallatin County District Court to a felony charge of assault on a minor, in connection with the death of 12-year-old James Alex Hurley.

According to court documents, Roush, 18 years old, was identified as the man seen striking Hurley with his hands and a wooden paddle in a video on the phone of James Sasser III, Hurley's 14-year-old uncle facing a deliberate homicide charge in the case.

Bail for Roush was kept at $50,000. His next court date is a status conference set for April 21.

How on Earth did Gage Roush plead "Not Guilty"? There is a video of him hitting JAH with a paddle/bat while he is screaming and crying. GR is recorded on the video stating that he "doesn't care" to JAH.

Now, he states that he wishes he could say that he is, "sorry" to JAH.

Sorry? GR could have easily reported the abuse of JAH to the police. Told someone. He is a waste of space, with zero rehabilitation potential.

Can you imagine GR as someone's father? Or a boyfriend, taking care of kids? He should never be allowed to be around children, ever.

Court documents show Batts physically kept Hurley in her home and didn’t get him medical treatment before he died.

The documents go on to say Batts choked the victim just days before he died.

James Sasser Jr. and James Sasser III, 14, are also charged with the torture and killing of Hurley.

Court records show all the defendants on cellphone video abusing Hurley.

Sasser III’s 18-year-old sister, the daughter of Batts and Sasser Jr., reportedly told detectives she believes Sasser III beat Hurley to death in early February.

No, it isn't the Covid 19 that is causing it - Roush still shows 2/13 as his next court date. I got his next court date from the article that I posted a few days ago. I believe I get more court dates from articles than from court sites!

The kidnapping charge is defined as:
"45-5-302. Kidnapping. (1) A person commits the offense of kidnapping if the person knowingly or purposely and without lawful authority restrains another person by either secreting or holding the other person in a place of isolation or by using or threatening to use physical force."

I believe a conviction for Kidnapping, in companion with a conviction for Aggravated Homicide, can result in the DP being imposed. JMO, IANAL

Wow. I was thinking that perhaps they didn't arrest her because maybe she had been 17, like the time where she and others allegedly chased Alex outside. Maybe she had been told not to leave Montana, not sure how that works.
