McColley went missing Thursday, and said she was walking through Laurel.

Officials are concerned as McColley has heath concerns and her phone is either off or dead.

Sounds like she was by herself, walking through Laurel.
Maybe I missed it, but does she live in Laurel, or was she there for a hike or sightseeing, etc.?
Was she there to meet someone -- somehow IMO, that doesn't seem likely -- JMO. Dunno.
From my map-hike ( ) it is fairly level territory nice homes, not a big town, but seems clean and pleasant.
Hoping she is okay and back at home.

Laurel, Mont. - Yellowstone County Deputies discovered the body of an unidentified female who died under mysterious causes near Seitz Ronan Road and Old Highway 10 East, close to Laurel, on Sunday.

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM, deputies were dispatched to a report of a deceased individual, according to the release by the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office.

How sad. SMH. Whoever did this apparently just left Kassi and kept on going.
Hoping LE will be able to pin down whoever hit Kassi. It appears that they do have a bit of evidence. This, IMO, will be a tough one.

Officials are reporting to that officials believe that they have found the vehicle and identified the owner.

The vehicle owner contacted detectives after seeing the post on social media.

"The investigation is ongoing, and will be forwarded to the County Attorney for review, and to determine if or what charge or charges if appropriate," according to Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office.

IMO - the mirror and wheel well being at the scene indicates a pretty violent collision. and I presume it was a hit and run based on the fact that they didn't know what vehicle it was...

This story is even worse than it initially sounded. she was fleeing a domestic violence situation and was hit by a stranger with a car, killing her. I can’t find if the charges are still pending against the woman who allegedly hit her or if they’ve been resolved. Terrible story.
