MT MT - Laura Johnson, 49, Billings, 4 Sept 2018 *Guilty*

Laura Johnson, 49, hasn’t been heard or seen from since Sept. 4, according to her son, Jonathon Johnson. In his post, he also stated his mother was involved in an abusive relationship. He also confirmed his mother has a history of drug addiction. Johnson said his mother recently moved to Billings from Nevada with her boyfriend and found a job at Papa John’s as a driver. However, she hasn’t shown up her job in recent weeks, he said.

Laura Johnson also sometimes goes by the name of Laura Braaten. Police said Laura’s phone pinged to a location in the Salmon Creek, Wash., area where there is a methadone clinic.

Laura Johnson is described as being 5’4″ about 140 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Surely the police can ask the clinic they refer to, if she is there? Even if they can't tell us - they could close the missing person report if they knew where she was?

From the article, there seems to be some uncertainty as to how Billings LE is following up. I’m getting the sense that there’s some lack of communication and frustration between the reporting family member and local LE (MOO). I hope she contacts her family soon.

Does she have a past in Washington state? Or would that be considered totally random for her to take off and go there? And by methadone clinic do they mean "treatment facility" or just a clinic where people go get their methadone every day?

@doodles1211 her son lives in WA but searching for MT methadone clinics shows that there is one right in Billings - why would she travel so far without telling her son she was coming to his state? I hope she is OK. Wonder if staff at the methadone clinic the LE mentioned are allowed to let LE know that she is definitely there? Or whether her privacy makes that illegal.

He needs to hire a PI. This is all over the map, and, since she could be voluntarily missing, it's a tough case for MT and NV LE to tackle. I wonder when the phone ping happened.

The Salmon Creek WA area is close to Vancouver. If nothing else, perhaps friends and family could try staking out the clinic to see if she returns.

Search for missing woman leads Billings police to investigate Heights home

A search for a missing woman brought the Billings police to a Heights residential property Friday night.

Billings resident Laura Johnson is listed as a missing person out of Vancouver, Washington, and Montana, according to Billings Police Sgt. Shane Shelden.

Officers could be seen entering and exiting a garage at the Heights home, and the BPD Crime Scene Investigations van was parked in front.
The property, located on the 300 block of Windsor Circle South, is believed to be Johnson's home in Billings. Shelden said he was unable to offer many specifics as to what police were doing in the area.

"We can't really divulge a whole lot of info right now. We're out here, we're just following up on the missing person Laura Johnson, just doing some more investigation," he said, later describing police work on the property as "continued investigation."
Shelden said police arrived at about 7 p.m. Speaking after 10 p.m., he said he was unsure how much longer police would be in the area.

Officers could be seen entering and exiting a single car garage across from a trailer on the property, which is partially bordered on the street by a chain link fence.

It's unclear which agencies have declared Johnson missing. She is not listed among the Montana Department of Justice's missing persons, nor is she listed on the Vancouver Police Department's missing persons list or the Washington State Patrol missing persons list.

This search doesn't look good for a positive outcome. Law enforcement doesn't come out at 7pm on a Friday night and stay hours searching as "just following up ... " Anyone have a line on her boyfriend to see if he is in custody somewhere on other charges?

UPDATE: so apparently cops pinged her phone the location was salmon creek Washington, I filed a missing person report here in Washington I told him about the ping and he asked for the address where it pinged at I told him he said he couldn’t get that info that it was around a 2 mile radius of a cell tower, the police out here doesn’t think her phone was ever pinged that she is still in Billings MT they filed the report and said it’s nation wide I do have a case number as well. Family members think they pinged my phone because at the time of the ping I was in salmon creek Washington. That’s why we are searching Billings still and because that’s the last place physically seen!

This is my mother Laura Johnson she lives in Billings mt with an abusive boyfriend, she has not been seen or heard from in 3 weeks her boyfriend told police he came home from work 3-3 1/2 weeks ago and she was gone. She is usually always on Facebook and on her phone but her phone goes straight to VM, her boss said the last day she work she said her and her bf got into a bad fight, then after that day she never showed back up.

Police say there is a few more steps to take before the can file a missing person law report.

Methadone clinic is where you get your daily dose (usually before 7am cut off).

She wouldn’t last long without this prescription, (depending on how high her daily dose is).

I hope nothing bad has happened to her.
