Search underway for missing Laurel woman

As you scroll down the article, there is a screenshot of one of her friend’s Facebook pages with an interesting update...hopefully a verified source will follow shortly.

The body mentioned in my last update was found by a man riding his ATV in the wooded area near the intersection of Yard Office Road and Ridge Drive.
This incident is being investigated as a homicide and Detectives finished processing the scene at about noon today. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning. I cannot confirm the body is that of Lori Bray until I have confirmation from the medical examiner one way or the other. In the meantime, our search has been put on hold, as we do not believe continuing the search will yield any new results. I will forward information about the identification as soon I receive the results. The investigation is continuing.

Her friends have been posting messages of loss since yesterday afternoon, so it really seems that it is her. Autopsy is supposed to be completed today, with final word being released sometime shortly after that. We REALLY need to know what's going on. We're all on edge, because we have no idea if there is a murderer on the loose we need to be watching for or if someone has been apprehended or if it was a domestic situation. There are A LOT of rumors flying, and legitimately not one single official word has been released. It is MADDENING.

“UPDATE: October 4, 2019, 2 PM

The medical examiner has positively identified the body that was located off Yard Office Road Wednesday evening, as 57-year-old Lori Bray. Medical records were used in the identification.
This incident is being investigated as a homicide so no details of the investigation are being released at this time. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
Anyone who may have any information in regards to this incident, is asked to contact that Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office at 406-256-2929.

I have a feeling they don’t need help from the public, they may very well know who did this and they need to get all their ducks in a row before arrest and announcement (fingers crossed) maybe they’re trying to keep from spooking him?

Suspect arrested in homicide of Laurel woman

The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday night an arrest has been made in connection to the death of 57-year-old Lori Bray of Laurel.

In a Facebook post credited to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, the department stated, "At 8 p.m. this evening, Diego T. Hernandez, age 22, of Laurel was arrested on a charge of homicide. Hernandez was arrested by Yellowstone County Deputies at his residence and will be transported to the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. The investigation is continuing and no further information is being released at this time."

KULR-8 television news is reporting that a candle light vigil for Lori Bray will be held Sunday, October 13th from 7-9 pm in Riverfront Park, Laurel.

Agree Dave. Always appreciate your local insight and knowledge. I was mostly referring to the media, which hadn't put out out an update or new article in a couple days, even after Lori's funeral date was announced.

This is interesting. The suspect's mother is incarcerated for involvement in a homocide.

So a 22 year old man killed a 57 year old woman. Robbery? Did they know each other? I guess it all remains to be seen.

The suspect's father's death remains an unsolved homicide from 1997. It appears to be a very sad situation all around.

The suspect has been arraigned. The official cause of death is homicide by strangulation.

Bond was set at $500,000 with GPS and alcohol monitoring if posted.
Just trying to help a person that she thought she knew, got her killed. She was well known and will always be remembered for her kindness. IMO
