The Gallatin County and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing hiker Randall “Randy” Bennett.

Bennett is a 50-year-old white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and 170 pounds, with pattern baldness.

He was last known to be in Bozeman on the evening of September 24, 2025.

His vehicle was found parked at the Spanish Creek trailhead, where it has reportedly been for at least one week.

Anyone who has seen Randall or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Gallatin County Dispatch at 406-582-2100 immediately.

Here's some information on the trail. South Fork Spanish Creek Trail Hiking Trail, Big Sky, Montana

The September weather for Bozeman. It did show it got down to 37 the night of the 27th (would have been colder at higher elevations, obiously). But the days have been warm. I wonder if he planned to stay overnight and had gear for that.
