Supt John Loveless says armed officers boarded the train and arrested two people within eight minutes of the 999 calls.

There are two men in police custody.

They are a 32-year-old male black British male and 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent.

Of the nine people believed to have life-threatening injuries, four have since been discharged. Two people remain in a life-threatening condition.

I can’t begin to imagine how scary this attack was for the passengers. The train had no option but to carry on running for about 15 minutes from when the attack started at Peterborough to the next station.

The shocking mobile phone footage was taken by a taxi driver who was near the front of the station waiting to pick up a passenger.

If they wanted to stop speculation I am very surprised that they did not release the fact that the two arrested were British Nationals much earlier .
People are so cynical after all the cover ups especially after Southport that they have very little confidence about the information released to the public.

One is described as a British national. The fact that they are described differently may indicate a difference in their origins.

Two British nationals arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after train stabbing - latest

British Transport Police say two of those injured remain in a life-threatening condition - four others have been discharged from hospital.
